In Sawyer and Abigail’s house,

After their lovely dinner, they watched a movie in the living room as usual that night.

However, not even a few minutes after the movie started, Abigail suddenly rembered her grandmother. She stood up from the sofa, leaving Sawyer confused as he watched her walk away.

"Abby, what’s wrong?" Sawyer’s question halted Abigail in her tracks. She turned to him and replied, "I need to call Grandma to ensure she’s okay there."

Sawyer turned off the television and walked over to her. Standing before her, he took her hand, their eyes locking.

"Are you worried that sothing happened to her after the incident at the restaurant?" he asked.

It would be a lie for her to say "No" because she genuinely was worried that Serena would discover the truth about her grandmother before the New Year’s party.

Knowing how manipulative Serena was made Abigail worry about letting her grandmother stay at Grandpa Philips’ house.

"Yes, I’m worried. What if Serena finds out that Grandpa Philips’ wife is my grandmother? She will definitely do sothing awful to Grandma out of revenge. I—" Abigail couldn’t bring herself to finish her sentence. She was too scared to imagine sothing terrible happening to her grandmother.

Sawyer felt terrible seeing how worried she was. "Alright, you can call her now. But there’s no need to worry so much. Grandma Sophie will be fine," he said, walking her to their bedroom. "Abby, I will be in my office next door if you need ." He leaned closer and kissed her eyebrow.

"Thank you, Sawyer—" Abigail smiled before she walked inside to look for her cell phone.

Settling on the sofa, Abigail dialed her Grandma’s phone. Surprisingly, Grandma’s cell phone wasn’t active, which made her even more worried. Her hands shook, and she tried calling again, but it was still inactive.

After staring at her cell phone for a few more minutes, Abigail dialed her Grandpa’s number.

The phone connected on the third ring. Jas Philips’s worried voice ca through on the other end. "Abby...? Is everything okay, my dear? Why are you calling this late?"

Abigail took a deep breath, hearing his questions. Although she rarely called her grandfather, she called her grandmother more often.

"Grandpa, I’m sorry to interrupt your rest, but I must talk to Grandma. I tried calling her several tis, but her cell phone was off. Is she alright?"

"Hahaha, oh dear, of course, your Grandma is fine. She might have forgotten to charge her cell phone again," Jas chirped, amused as he rembered how Sophie had barely touched her phone lately. They were always together and rarely did anything else but enjoy their glorious days.

Abigail felt relieved to know her Grandma was okay. But she still wanted to speak to her. Maybe her worry wasn’t just because of Serena but because she missed her Grandma so much.

"Do you want to talk to your Grandma?" Jas offered.

"Yes, Grandpa. I miss her," Abigail silently took a deep sigh.

"Alright, wait a minute..."

Abigail waited patiently. She could hear her Grandpa open the door, and soon she heard Grandma’s cheerful voice greet her from the other end.

"Oh, Abby, is that you? Why are you calling this late? Did you miss ?"

"Grandma, you made worry. Why is your cell phone not active?" Abigail asked, resting her back on the sofa. The worry lingering in her heart slowly faded.

"Sorry, honey... I didn’t check my phone," Sophie laughed. "What’s wrong, Abby? Why are you calling at night?" she asked again.

"I miss you; that’s why I called you," Abigail admitted. When she heard Grandma laughing happily, she continued, "How is it living there? Can you co to my house and stay here for a few nights?"

"Oh honey, I forgot to tell you. Your Grandpa and I went to Orange Town this morning to visit your mother’s grave," Sophie explained. "Don’t worry, we will return to the capital in a few days."

Abigail sighed in relief, knowing her grandmother was not ho. She asked again, "Can you and Grandpa co to our house after visiting Orange Town? You could stay here for a couple of days."

"Sure, we will, Abby," Sophie replied, but she noticed sothing was off. Abigail’s tone sounded worried and afraid. "Honey, why do you sound so anxious? Is sothing bothering you?"

Abigail clenched her hands tightly, holding her cell phone. She couldn’t possibly tell Grandma what had happened this afternoon—her confrontation with Serena Philips.

"Nothing is bothering , Grandma. I just miss you. You promised to visit our house, but you haven’t co to see at all. That’s why I called you..." Abigail replied calmly.

"Honey, we will visit you once we arrive..."

Not wanting her grandmother to sense her anxiety, Abigail quickly ended the phone call. However, before she hung up, she faintly heard her Grandpa speaking sweetly to Grandma, reminding her to get so rest.

"What a cute couple..." Abigail giggled as she stood up from the couch. She noticed that it was almost ten at night. She stepped outside to look for Sawyer, feeling a burden lifted from her shoulders. Her worries about how evil Serena was had wholly disappeared.

"Abby, you have to trust Grandpa. He will protect Grandma from anyone," Abigail told herself as she made her way to Sawyer’s ho office.

Abigail smiled as she noticed Sawyer’s office door slightly ajar. Still, she hesitated to enter when she heard him chatting with soone.

Recognizing Paul’s voice, she was about to head back to her bedroom when she caught Paul saying, "Master, your father called earlier to make sure you didn’t forget about your mother’s birthday."

"Thank you, Paul. I know; I won’t forget," Sawyer replied nonchalantly.

"Also, your father wants you to bring the young madam with you. He wants to officially introduce young madam to the rest of the family."

Abigail’s heart fluttered at the news. Feeling too anxious to stay there, she decided to return to her bedroom. The thought of eting Sawyer’s siblings made her nervous, especially considering how poorly they had treated him as a teenager.
