Serena Philips and her manager, Tommy, quickly exit the restaurant after Andy Bennet forced them to leave. Their expressions showed embarrassnt and annoyance as they exited Tatami House and Kitchen.
After a few minutes, their car left the restaurant, and Tommy finally turned to see Serena in the back seat. He noticed how gloomy and angry she appeared. Surprisingly, she said nothing, which made him worry.
"Are you okay, Serena?" Tommy asked.
Serena didn’t respond to her manager; her mind was in turmoil. She felt humiliated and offended by what had happened in the restaurant. However, what hurt her even more was the realization that Sawyer was already married to Abigail Snow.
It was difficult for her to erase Sawyer Jones from her mories. She tried hard to forget him, but the more she attempted to let go, the harder it beca.
Before they left the restaurant, Sawyer arrived at the sa ti. Her heart raced every ti she saw him. But, when she desperately sought an opportunity to speak to him, Sawyer didn’t even look in her direction. This only broke her heart further.
’Why do you hate so much, Sawyer? Why do you see as your mortal enemy? What did I do to earn such hatred from you?’ Serena wondered as she tried to endure the pain that was starting to seep from her heart.
She tried to shift her thoughts away from Sawyer by looking at the scenery outside, but it didn’t work. The beauty around her was overshadowed by the mories of Sawyer’s hatred, which continued to tornt her internally.
Not long after, Tommy’s voice broke the silence in the car, echoing with concern.
"Serena, I hope you’re alright," he said, his worried tone making her flinch slightly. "Why does Mr. Andy Bennet’s threat seem so real? I’m starting to worry about your future."
Serena glanced at Tommy, who was sitting beside the driver. She stared at him for a mont, unable to respond to his words. After seeing Sawyer earlier, she had utterly forgotten about Andy Bennet’s threat.
However, upon hearing Tommy’s words, her worries and fears gradually resurfaced in her mind and heart.
’Is Andy Bennet serious about what he said?’ Serena whispered under her breath, feeling frustrated but unsure how to express it.
She was angry and confused, with so many questions swirling in her mind that left her bewildered:
Why did Andy Bennet protect Abigail that much? That woman wasn’t even his girlfriend. Why would he do that?
What caused him to suddenly hate her over such a minor issue?
What perplexed Serena even more was Andy’s audacity in forbidding her from entering any of Silverstone Group’s business lines. He even threatened to terminate her employnt contract with all affiliates associated with the Silverstone Group.
’Seriously, Abigail Snow! Who the hell are you? Why did you drive these two n to hate ?’ Serena felt frustrated and curious about Abigail’s identity. She began to suspect that Robby, her detective friend, had given her false information.
Serena massaged her forehead, feeling a headache coming on as she thought about Abigail’s identity.
"Serena, you look not okay. Do you want to take you to the hospital?" Tommy asked, his tone growing more worried.
"No, just take to my parents’ house. I need to see my dad now above all else," Serena replied, grabbing her cell phone.
After texting her father, she tossed her phone onto the side seat. She closed her eyes, trying to clear her clouded mind of everything, especially thoughts of that damn woman, Abigail Snow.
...
Soon after, Serena arrived at her parent’s house and saw her father and mother waiting at the entrance.
Serena was too mad about what happened today; she failed to hide how terrible her expression was now.
"Serena, my daughter, what happened? Why did you ask us to wait for you at ho?" David Philips asked worriedly when he saw Serena’s annoyed expression mixed with sadness.
"David, let’s talk inside." Sara Larson rushed to her daughter, grabbed her arm, and led her inside.
"Mom, Dad, I have so bad news," Serena finally said as she saw her parents sitting across from her in the living room.
David and Sara exchanged worried glances, confused by her tone. "Bad news?" David asked, puzzled. "What is it, Serena?"
"I just found out that Sawyer is already married. He married Abigail Snow, the woman we t at his grandpa’s house a few months ago." Serena felt mixed emotions; she was angry and jealous at the thought that soone like Abigail Snow could capture Sawyer Jones’ heart.
David took a deep breath after hearing his daughter confess. "Rena, didn’t you promise you no longer want to chase Sawyer? Did you forget what your Grandpa warned you about?" he asked.
Sara added, "Yes, my love. Why are you still talking about that man? Don’t you want to move on and open your heart to soone else?"
Serena clenched her hands tightly. She had tried to erase all her mories of Sawyer and had promised not to pursue him further, but it wasn’t easy to let go.
"Your mother is right, Rena. You should consider moving on and pursuing another man. There are plenty of good n for you in this city," David said, feeling both sorry for and worried about his daughter. "I heard you now have the opportunity to approach Andy Bennet. Why not take it seriously?"
Serena clenched her teeth, the mory of Andy Bennet’s earlier words flooding her mind. He had threatened her.
"Dad, I have no hope of approaching Andy Bennet. That man doesn’t like ," Serena replied in a miserable tone, shocking both David Philips and Sara Larson.
Serena continued before they could ask anything further, "I made a mistake today. I offended him, and now he has threatened . I might lose several job opportunities in this country..."
"What? What were you thinking, Rena? Why would you offend Andy Bennet?" David could no longer hide his shock.
"My daughter, you must be joking, right?" Sara asked, clearly confused.
Serena could only stare at them, helpless, unable to find the words to explain.
