"Since we’re friends and Silverstone Group is my firm’s main client, I won’t charge you that much; I’ll give you a rate of $5,000 per hour. How does that sound?"

It took a mont for Andy Bennet to respond.

"You don’t want to?" Rowan asked when he saw Andy lost in thought. He knew Andy must be shocked by his fee. "Fine! I will tell my client you refused—"

"I didn’t say I refused, Rowan!" Andy hurriedly protested.

"So you agree?"

"Can you only charge $4,000...?" Andy asked.

Rowan inwardly laughed at his words. "Hmmm. Deal!" he said, extending his hand to seal the deal.

He hadn’t intended to charge that much, but Sawyer had instructed him to do so. He felt he had no choice but to comply with Sawyer’s request, even though he planned to give Andy a discount.

If Sawyer questioned him about the discount, he intended to explain, "Miss Abigail would be shocked if she received so much money. She might refuse it and return the money." He believed Sawyer would understand.

Andy smiled as he accepted Rowan’s handshake. Still, later, he found himself calculating how much money he would need to pay Rowan.

"Andy, are you sure Silverstone Group can spend that much money to handle this case? I doubt the shareholders will agree with you. They might call a shareholder eting if they find out about it..." Rowan expressed his concern about Andy’s seemingly unreasonable decision.

"Thanks for your concern, Rowan. But I won’t be using company funds. I’ll use my own..."

Andy casually responded as he set down his billiard cue. He didn’t want to continue playing; instead, he wanted to go ho and try to call Abigail, hoping she wasn’t asleep yet.

Rowan was taken aback by Andy’s willingness to use his own money to help Abigail. He stared at Andy curiously, and soon, an unsettling thought crossed his mind, causing him to feel goosebumps.

"Andy, do you know Miss Abigail? I an, personally?" Rowan asked, beginning to worry about what he was thinking.

Andy smiled, his eyes shining as he thought about Abigail and how they had t and grown close. He nodded and said, "Yeah, I know her..."

Rowan felt increasingly tense and couldn’t help but ask, "Do you like her?"

"How do you know that, Rowan?" Andy replied, pretending to be surprised. He smiled at him before continuing, "Well, yes, I like her—"

Rowan fell silent. However, he began foreseeing what might happen, and the thought made his blood run cold.

Despite all his odd feelings and nacing curiosity, he decided to stay out of it and brushed it out of his mind.

Next day.

When Abigail woke up in the morning, she was stunned to discover that Sawyer was no longer at her house. However, she noticed his note on the dining table.

"Abby, I’m sorry. I have to do sothing. Please have breakfast without ; I will co to pick you up at seven-thirty."

She placed the note back on the table and wondered why he had suddenly left so early in the morning.

She was about to call him when her eyes fell on the breakfast tray before her: warm ginger chicken soup with bread, a few slices of fresh fruit, and a cup of warm honey tea.

Feeling hungry at the sight of the tempting breakfast, Abigail imdiately sat down and began to eat.

While she ate, Abigail texted Aunty Rosa to let her know she would visit the nursing ho and wanted to et her.

Abigail started to worry because Aunt Rosa had not inford her about the CCTV footage at the hospital she had requested a few weeks ago.

After waiting a few more minutes without a reply from Aunt Rosa, Abigail returned to her breakfast. She didn’t want to waste ti, so she hurriedly prepared herself for Sawyer’s arrival.

As promised, Sawyer arrived at seven-thirty, just as Abigail had changed her clothes and packed a few outfits for their trip.

Since Abigail no longer worked at the café, she had agreed to Sawyer’s offer to spend the weekend at his cabin.

...

Abigail entered the living room and saw Sawyer casually dressed in a dark shirt under his navy blue long coat.

"Did I make you wait?" she smiled at him.

"No, I just arrived..." Sawyer replied, unable to take his eyes off her. This was the first ti he had seen her in a white knee-length dress with a tiny flower motif on the skirt. She had tied her hair into a ponytail, making her look much younger and more feminine, completed by white sneakers.

"You look gorgeous in your dress, Abby," Sawyer sincerely praised her. "You usually wear a culotte or jeans. And now, seeing you like this, I feel even more proud of myself to have you as my woman."

Abigail, "..."

She couldn’t believe this man had already showered her with his cheesy lines early in the morning. Gosh!

"You too, Sawyer! Why do you look more handso and younger every ti I see you?" As Abigail heard her words, she couldn’t help but feel her face warm.

She couldn’t believe she had said sothing like that.

’God! This man is really changing !’ She laughed inwardly.

Sawyer chuckled, pleased to hear her sweet complint for the first ti. In a good mood, he stood up and walked over to take her travel bag.

"Did you pack everything you need?" he asked.

"Hmm, I did," she replied.

"What about a jacket or coat? It will be freezing in the cabin."

"I only brought this one," she said, raising her hand to show him her long coat. "Besides, I left the hoodie you bought at your cabin."

"Oh, you’re right. Let’s go then." With his other hand, Sawyer took her hand as they walked outside the house.

...

They would head directly to the nursing ho to et her grandmother before returning to Sawyer’s cabin to spend a few days there.

When they arrived at the basent, Abigail was surprised that Sawyer would not drive his car. Instead, Brody was sitting behind the wheel, with Vincent, her bodyguard, next to him.
