The officer was waiting for to co out and he imdiately ca to my side once I was out.
I held out the small bottle with the mixture of herbs toward the officer and took my seat in front of him once more.
"Shopkeeper, what is that?"
The officer asked as he looked at the bottle I passed him.
"That is the initial solution to the disease you spoke of. If you brew this and give it to your wife twice a day with healthy als, she should recover in no ti. However, I cannot tell if this would suit her body or not without seeing her. For now, give this to her for a few days and report to about her condition."
I told the man and he nodded.
I did feel a little nervous prescribing dicine to soone like this, but I reassured myself with the fact that none of the herbs I had mixed were harmful to the patient.
The most they could do was cause a small fever or gas in the patient and nothing more.
"T-Thank you, shopkeeper. I don’t know how I would ever repay you...what do you want from ?"
The officer asked and I almost told him that I did not want anything. But then I rembered the dire wolf puppy in my cabinet.
I knew nothing about its diet and what nutrients it needed. But from what I had been able to research, I needed to give it the at of a divine goat during its first month if I wanted it to survive.
Since that young girl Emma had pawned the puppy off on so young, I doubted she had given it any at (not that the puppy had teeth to be able to eat it).
"Actually, there is sothing you can do for . I am in need of the at of a divine goat. Do you think you can get any?"
I asked the officer and he looked taken aback.
"at of the divine goat? Ah, sure I can, but can I ask why—"
"It’s just...for my own purpose. You do not need to worry about it."
I cut off the officer and suddenly felt like I had made a mistake. What if the officer were to take offense to this and attack ?
There was no way I would be able to defend myself from such an attack.
"Hmm, I get it. Since the shopkeeper has made this request, I will not ask any more questions regarding that. So, when do you need to bring that to you?"
The officer asked and I wanted to say to bring it back as soon as possible. But I had no way to store that at at the mont.
From what I had read, dire wolves started eating at during their second week of being born. The puppy I had was still two to three days old at best. So I needed to wait a few more days.
"I want that at next week. Do you think you can manage?"
I asked the officer and he nodded.
"Of course. I will bring it to you when I bring you the news of my wife’s treatnt."
My body moved on its own and I grabbed the book the officer had been interested in and handed it to him.
"One minute. You were interested in this book as well, right? Then, take it with you for now and return it when you co back next ti. Consider this a favor from my side."
I told the officer and he looked touched by my gesture. He opened his mouth to tell sothing, but then he left quickly.
All this ti, I remained standing and I watched as he disappeared outside my door. As soon as he was gone, I headed to the front door and bolted it shut.
I felt my legs give up and I collapsed on the chair behind as soon as the man left. The tension finally left my fra and I lted against the sofa.
"Finally, the day is over... I should go and prepare milk for the puppy. I need to make sure it grows big and strong enough to protect ."

"Boss, you are back...? Did you go to your benefactor once more? And what’s that in your hand? A book?"
The secretary asked her superior as she noticed the book. She almost reached for it but her superior pulled it out of her grasp.
Instead, he tossed her a bottle of sothing mixed in there.
"Brew so tea with this and bring it to the cursed patients in the back. My benefactor told that this is the cure for their condition and I want to try."
The officer told his secretary and she frowned at his words.
"Sir, I know you respect your benefactor a lot, but are you sure you can trust them? None of the doctors we have hired have been able to tell what is wrong with the patients and the witches also deny that it is a curse. Even the temple has turned away from us, citing that they are following the heavens’ will."
The secretary told Henry and the man frowned.
He knew about the doctors and the witches, but the news of the temple’s rejection was sothing new for him.
"The temple refused to help as well? Then again, those fools only move when it involves their god or their own greed. For now, we need to try this redy and see if it works."
Miracles did not happen often, but they always happened unexpectedly. So Henry had to believe that his benefactor would be able to bring forth a miracle for him as well.
His secretary just sighed and did as she was told to do.
After all, if sothing went wrong, she was not to be blad this ti. She was only following orders she was given.
The potion she brewed turned mud-brown when all of it was mixed and she brought it to the patients to give it to them.
So gagged at the bitterness, and others downed it as if it was their last hope. And just like that, the night passed.
The next morning, both the secretary and General Henry went to check up on the patients, only to hear loud shouting and tears coming.
"Oh no—! Did sothing happen?"
Bracing themselves for the worst, the pair opened the door to check what happened, only to witness a miracle.
The yellow on the patients’ faces was much more faded compared to last night. And a few people who had just started to turn yellow seed to have almost recovered.
"Madam, what happened—?"
The secretary asked and the madam who was in charge of looking after these people cried tears of joy.
"I-It is a miracle... truly a miracle... T-The curse... it has started to lift. Sir Henry, where did you get this miraculous dicine from? I need to go and thank that person. I—"
The secretary was shocked beyond asure but Henry’s eyes beca colder and more distant.
"My benefactor... does not like it when people visit him. If you truly want to show your gratitude, you should just spread the words of this miracle and make others understand that a higher being has helped them."
The madam nodded before she offered a small prayer and went back to work. Finally, there was an end in sight to the curse of yellow.
