Reeze Spencer dragged the unknown man away from the bookstore and into an empty alley. The stranger kept fidgeting as he was dragged along, his eyes darting around in order to try and escape.
But Reeze had left him no opening. Her magic was making sure that her surroundings were as secure as they could be.
"Miss, I am afraid that you have the wrong person. Can I go back now?"
The stranger asked, and Reeze grinned.
"Oh my—! Do I have the wrong person? I am so sorry about that. Here, let make it up to you."
She spoke softly and, as she turned around, her hand moved faster than it ever had and clutched the shoulder of the stranger.
The man flinched in shock but not in pain. He was stronger than he looked, and his body felt scaly as well under her hand.
She tightened her pressure, her hand gripping that shoulder even harder, and the magic made the stranger’s skin fizzle.
That finally made the stranger pull back, and he hissed as he looked at her.
"Tsk, you are such a fucking annoyance. How did you see past my disguise when even the shopkeeper did not? Ugh, I was so close to getting inside and getting more information from that shopkeeper."
The man yelled as he grabbed his shoulder. His body and face slowly morphed into a lizard-like shape, and he hissed as he looked at the female in front of him.
Unfortunately for him, Reeze seed to have seen through his disguise, and she seed uninterested in what he had to say to her.
"Hmm, aren’t you looking down on the shopkeeper too much? The reason he did not bother coming after you was because you were too low on his priority scale. Even if he saw through your disguise, he likely did not consider you a threat."
Reeze was sure of this, and the lizard man looked even more offended than before.
He attacked Reeze to try and maintain his honor, but Reeze not only dodged that attack, she attacked him back as well.
She was much more powerful than the lizard man, and he went flying as he was pushed around by her.
When he ca around, Reeze was standing on top of him, her weapon ready to take his head off.
"It seems like this is my win. If you want to co after the shopkeeper, you better try sothing different. Oh, and don’t try to chew more than you can swallow."
She told the lizard man before she cast magic on him. He was going to forget what happened here or that he ever ca after the shopkeeper.
Once that was taken care of, she went back to the shopkeeper. She had a lot she wanted to talk about and a lot of guidance she needed to get.
Besides, every visit to the shopkeeper was filled with not only surprises but also advantages. And that advantage was sothing she was not willing to give up.
She would like nothing more than to keep visiting the shopkeeper. But alas, that was not sothing she could do with her current schedule.

Reeze and that stranger were gone for not too long when Reeze ca back. She looked as calm and composed as ever, and her smile looked beautiful as well.
But sothing about her was dangerous, and it made want to be careful around her. She was like a sharp knife that was hiding its edges.
"Shopkeeper, I apologize for being late. I had so... unfortunate circumstances."
Reeze told as she walked toward . She looked refreshed, and her smile filled her whole face.
I opened my door for her to enter, and I allowed her to enter the house first before I followed after her.
"So, what brings you here, Miss Reeze? What can I help you with today?"
I asked as I placed a cup of tea in front of her. I had freshly brewed a new batch while she had been gone.
Reeze took a sip before she straightened her back and gave a lazy look.
"Oh—! There is no specific reason for to be here. I was just in the neighborhood and decided to drop by because I had ti. I hope I did not disturb you, shopkeeper."
She asked as she put her cup down. Her smile felt toxic, and I felt tongue-tied. I coughed to hide my discomfort before I decided to bring up small topics to talk to her about.
"So, is there anything special going on in your life these days?"
I asked, and the female paused before she gave a knowing smile.
"Ah, of course—! The shopkeeper would know all about the recent news, right? Don’t worry, it’s nothing big. My sisters and I are planning sothing big soon. If we succeed in it, then I will show you as well, shopkeeper."
I had a feeling it would be better for not to know what she ant. But I still kept smiling and decided to wipe this mory from my mind later.
Hopefully, the female would forget to invite to whatever she and her sisters were planning.
The awkward silence was broken by the other female once more. As I looked around, my hand fell on a small book that had a small girl on it.
It looked like a children’s fairytale, and I had a feeling that Reeze would like it.
"Hmm, your adventures sound interesting. But as interesting as they sound, I am afraid that I might have to turn you down if I am too busy during that ti. However, why don’t you have this? Consider this a small gift from ."
The female took the offered book with a small smile on her face. As she turned the pages, her eyes widened and she suddenly slamd the book closed.
"Oh my—! This is incredible. Shopkeeper, I apologize, but I need to get going. I promise I will bring you wonderful news soon enough. You just wait and see."
