Chapter 874: Chapter 34: Searching Thousands of Tis in the Crowd_2 Chapter 874: Chapter 34: Searching Thousands of Tis in the Crowd_2 At this mont, Lotson suddenly shifted the topic.
“Yes.”
Facing Lotson’s inquiry, which seed more certain than dubious, Link decisively admitted.
It was re curiosity, and not sothing disgraceful.
“Do you want to know the answer?”
Lotson raised an eyebrow, and his expression, along with his tone, suddenly beca sowhat frivolous.
He was just like a slick young man on the city streets who opens his coat to hawk shady DVDs lined along the interior.
“If you’re willing to tell , I’ll listen. If you aren’t, or if I have to agree to so condition to hear it, then I won’t. You can either speak or not; the choice is yours.”
Link gave his stance very directly, showing a tough attitude.
The tougher the attitude, the more it could overpower others.
Lotson was genuinely taken aback, with words stuck in his throat that he desperately wanted to spit out but couldn’t.
From the exchange between the two, it was clear that Lotson had asked for the confrontation.
In a word, serves him right!
So, in the end, Lotson held back his retort, neither complaining nor striking back.
After taking a few deep breaths and adjusting his easily fluctuating emotions during the “tamorphosis Period,” Lotson took the initiative to reveal the answer, “I ca to the Parallel Universe to go through the ‘tamorphosis Period’ for two main reasons. One is that my True Spirit remains unhard, and my connection to the Wizard World Will is actually tight enough that resonating with another ‘tamorphosis Period’ would be more harmful than beneficial; and two, the Wizard civilization that used to support the coexistence of nine Saints may not be able to anymore.”
After a pause, Lotson beca serious and looked directly into Link’s eyes, saying solemnly, “You are on the path of creating your own Construction Wizard Sect, and I have seen all the information you’ve made public. I think it’s very good, with a lot of potential. If it develops well and stays on the right course, you might even have a chance at becoming a Saint.”
“But what?” Link asked, anticipating the inevitable turn in the conversation. “People usually say such things right before a ‘but’, so I’m waiting to hear yours.”
Link didn’t let the praise for his self-created Construction Wizard Sect from a Reincarnated Saint cloud his judgnt; he remained incredibly cool-headed.
He was even proactively dousing himself with cold water.
“Ha.”
Lotson laughed in appreciation of Link’s composure, “Since you want to hear the ‘but’, I’ll talk about it.”
After a mont, Lotson sighed deeply and continued, “But, it’s not the case that the more Saints there are, the stronger the Wizard civilization’s comprehensive power is. Wizards are human, and no matter how high their position, they remain human at their core, unlike our mortal enemies in the divine civilizations who abandon all humanity in pursuit of power and rules. Moreover, Wizards value freedom. What tends to happen when humans desire freedom?”
“Differences!”
After giving it so thought, Link uttered a word.
“Exactly, differences!”
Lotson affird Link’s view and went on to explain, “Not all differences can reach a consensus, which leads to argunts, opposition, and strategic gas. In other words, internal strife. Whether there are nine Saints or five Saints, both being odd numbers, ans that when consensus can’t be reached, they can still resolve differences through voting. But…”
“But nine is greater than five, and that brings greater uncertainty and complexity to the negotiations,” Link said, neatly finishing Lotson’s thought like a straight man in a codic duo.
Lotson nodded in agreent with Link’s follow-up comnt before tossing out a reminder or perhaps a piece of advice, “So if you have grand ambitions and want to strive for sainthood, you must focus your developnt on the Parallel Universe. The Age of Dharma Decline in the divine civilizations is not the sa as the Age of Dharma Decline in Wizard civilization, understand?”
“Not quite.”
Knowing what you know and admitting what you don’t, Link didn’t pretend to understand and candidly exposed his ignorance.
Then, Link made a request, “Could you explain the aning of that statent in more detail?”
“Let explain.”
Out of the blue, a third voice joined the conversation between Link and Lotson.
Before the voice had even finished speaking, a figure arrived.
The newcor was none other than the long-absent Mr. Xu Jing.
Given Mr. Xu Jing’s position, realm, and strength, it was natural for Link not to have detected his approach.
But had Lotson noticed?
Being an Ancestor Heavenly Master was equivalent to being a Saint in the Wizard civilization.
Given Lotson’s current strength, it was understandable that he had no ans to counter many of Ancestor Heavenly Master’s strategies.
“`
But it absolutely should not be that even when Mr. Xu Jing is near, one could not detect him.
Link thought about it and imdiately understood that when Lotson said, “The Age of Dharma Decline of the celestial civilization does not equate to the Age of Dharma Decline of the Wizard civilization,” it was ant for Mr. Xu Jing to hear.
Even, to speak more conspiratorially, was it also intentional when Lotson ntioned the potential for growth of the Construction Wizard Sect that Link had created himself?
It was very possible.
However, one cannot see into the hearts and minds of others, and Link could only speculate, not confirm.
In the blink of an eye, with myriad thoughts whirling through his mind, Link calmly pressed down on them, and with a composed face, he responded to Mr. Xu Jing’s sudden appearance and interjection, politely bowing and kindly requesting, “May Mr. Xu Jing please enlighten .”
“I dare not enlighten, but we can exchange ideas.”
Mr. Xu Jing nodded in return and imdiately said, “This place is not good for chatting. You two have been walking for a long ti and must be tired. Why not co to my Heavenly Master’s Mansion to rest your feet?”
Link did not imdiately respond but looked towards Lotson.
No matter what, Lotson was a reincarnated Saint, and that fact must be fully respected.
This is called “Position,” as well as “Emotional intelligence.”
“I have no objections. What about you?”
Lotson shrugged his shoulders, showing an indifferent attitude, but he also returned the respect to Link.
Understanding the gesture, Link smiled and said, “Mr. Xu Jing generously invites us; it would be impolite to refuse, so I shall impose on your hospitality.”
“Please, this way.”
Mr. Xu Jing did not continue with pleasantries, but gestured with his hand.
No sooner had the sound of his voice faded than a light gate with a style leaning towards the Wizard civilization appeared out of nowhere.
“What is this?”
Upon seeing the light gate for the first ti, Link was filled with questions.
Lotson looked carefully at the light gate for a mont, his brow slightly creased, then relaxed, and with a smile playing on his lips, he looked towards Mr. Xu Jing, waiting for an explanation.
Mr. Xu Jing said indifferently, “As the Saint ntioned, the Age of Dharma Decline of the celestial civilization does not equate to the Age of Dharma Decline of the Wizard civilization. Faced with the impending crisis of the Age of Dharma Decline, the celestial civilization pledged to do everything possible to survive. Attempting all feasible thods included cooperating with the Wizard civilization’s Supre Council, forming allies, and establishing a foothold in each other’s universes. Another thod was to actively absorb the knowledge of the Wizard civilization, to learn and transform to weather the crisis. This portal is the result of the Heavenly Master’s Mansion learning from the advantages of the Wizard civilization’s Inter-Dinsional Teleportation Portal, combined with the teleportation arrays inherent to the celestial civilization, to develop a new spell.”
After listening to Mr. Xu Jing’s explanation, the doubts in Link’s mind dissipated imdiately.
Simultaneously, Link also noticed that the halo forming the base of the light gate was indeed quite different from the Rune Array of the Wizard civilization’s Inter-Dinsional Teleportation Portal.
“Learning from the West to enrich the East, combining dostic and foreign knowledge?”
All of a sudden, a piece of history from his past life jumped into Link’s mind, bringing these eight characters to the forefront.
Imdiately, Link realized and looked deeply at Mr. Xu Jing.
Having pursued the path of a True Spirit Wizard several tis before, Link paid particular attention to the defense of his ntal sphere.
The process and feeling of recalling these eight characters felt eerily familiar, and he suddenly awakened to an insight.
Was this “laying a trap” or “having another agenda”?
Mr. Xu Jing returned the gaze with an open smile, not feeling as though using so small tactics was anything significant.
In a desperate bid for salvation, there is no sha.
“Please.”
Once again, with a gesture, Mr. Xu Jing led the way into the light gate, then waited on the other side for Link and Lotson.
Lotson gave Link a sly wink, a gesture full of inscrutable aning, and followed through the light gate.
Unconcerned with Lotson’s sudden and inexplicable jest, Link calmly made his way to the other side.
Mr. Xu Jing waved away the light gate and, leading from the front, took Link and Lotson directly into a grand and solemn hall.
The hall was very spacious, with only one person present, the Ancestor Heavenly Master, whom he had t once before.
In the hands of the Ancestor Heavenly Master lay a nondescript little stone.
The mont Lotson saw the stone, his eyes widened in shock, and he exclaid:
“A star!”
