Edith quickly thought before Cliff caught Callum and Erdin’s presence. Therefore, she was forced to put on a show again to avoid suspicion. She deliberately put on a stiff smile and tightly gripped her fiancé’s right hand.

"Cliff, can you give five minutes before I allow you to enter my residence?"

"What’s wrong? Don’t you usually let in right away?"

"Actually, my house is a ss because, as usual, Eliana gets into trouble while doing her howork. She always leaves her crayons scattered all over the floor."

Cliff exhaled heavily. "Okay, I’ll wait here as long as you like. I don’t mind if your house is a ss, actually."

"I promise it will be neat in five minutes."

Edith quickly closed the door to her residence and ran over to her ex-fiancé, who was busy playing with her twins. Without further ado, Edith pulled her ex by the hand and led him into her room.

Edith tried to regain her breathing while wiping away the cold sweat that continued to stream down her face. "You can hide in my room for now."

"Then, what about Erdin?"

Edith slapped her forehead as she wanted to run out of the room, but her body was imdiately hugged by her ex-lover from behind.

"What are you doing, Callum?"

"Don’t leave , Edith. Please, don’t let Cliff into your house!"

"Have you forgotten my status now?" Edith montarily released her ex-lover’s hand and then turned around. "I let you into this house because I had to fulfill my role as Erdin’s nanny. Not because I love you anymore!"

"Edith, you better think this through!"

"I’ve thought it through, and this is my decision. I still won’t give you a chance."

Edith ran out of her room, leading Erdin back into hers. She only gave Erdin brief instructions to ensure his scenario wouldn’t be ruined.

Now Edith was again welcoming her special guest into her ho. She imdiately tidied up Eliana’s sketchbooks, which were still scattered on the floor.

"Sorry, you must have been waiting for for a long ti out there."

Cliff shook his head slowly as he looked at Eliana, who was still finishing her howork. "It’s okay. Besides, I never minded your ssy house in the first place."

"But I’m not used to letting a guest see my house in a ss."

"Why do you still consider a guest even though we are getting married soon?"

In fact, from inside the room, Callum was furious to hear this and wanted to beat Cliff to death. However, he couldn’t do it openly in front of his twins.

anwhile, Edith still didn’t want this marriage. Especially since Cliff ca at an inopportune ti, she was worried that Callum would beco even more stressed after hearing this bad news.

"That’s true. I’m still acting relaxed even though the engagent party is coming up soon."

"But, have you told Callum about this?"

Edith shook her head slowly. "Not yet. I actually didn’t want to tell him."

"Why? Do you still care about him?"

"No. Now I actually consider him a stranger. That’s why I didn’t want to tell him this because he really doesn’t deserve to attend our engagent party."

Cliff sighed heavily. "But she has to attend our engagent party because she’s my brother. Even if he doesn’t want to, I’ll still force him."

"Why do you want your brother to attend our engagent party so badly? Aren’t you two really close?"

"Because I want to prove to everyone that I am the only one who deserves to be your fiancé."

Edith laughed awkwardly. "If you don’t show it off to everyone, they’ll know you’re my fiancé."

"Actually, I’m more impatient to marry you. I don’t want an engagent party. It’s just a formality, but a wedding is much more aningful."

"Is it because you can’t wait to see in my wedding dress?"

Amidst the couple’s conversation, Eliana couldn’t contain her anger. She slamd the crayons on the table and ran into the room.

Edith actually didn’t want to marry Cliff either because she hated him so much. She was worried that Callum would be even more hurt by hearing this and that their relationship would beco even more strained. Now she was thinking of a way to keep Cliff from bringing up the marriage issue any further.

"Cliff, regarding the marriage issue, how about we talk about it another ti?"

"Is it because Eliana is angry that you feel uncomfortable with ?"

"My daughter is still in shock after hearing this news. She’s always treated you like an uncle, and soon you’ll be her father."

"That’s true. Children must be very sensitive to this issue."

"I’m sorry. After you get ho, I’ll definitely try to persuade her."

"Hopefully, before the engagent party takes place, she will have fully accepted as her father."

"Once she’s ready, I’ll be sure to tell you the good news. Then, I can prepare for the wedding with you more peacefully."

After Cliff said goodbye and went ho, Edith returned to her two special guests, still hidden in the room. The atmosphere was very awkward, especially with Callum’s furious expression after hearing the bad news. Callum briefly instructed his son to play with his daughter so he could talk more freely with Edith in the room.

"Edith, is it true that you are going to marry him soon?" Callum asked coldly.

"Yes, I will marry him. Are you satisfied with that?"

Callum held his chest in pain after hearing his lover’s cruel statent. "Don’t you think about ?"

"Why would I think about you? You didn’t even think about before and went straight to Arabella."

"Edith, I was actually threatened at that ti! Your situation now is different from mine before!"

"I still don’t care, Callum! If you’d wanted to betray from the start, I wouldn’t have stopped you. I would have done the sa to you."

Callum couldn’t hold back the tears that stread down his cheeks. He knelt for a mont before his ex-lover. "I’ll ask you one more ti. Do you intend to be Cliff’s wife forever?"
