Cliff didn’t want to remain silent after hearing this good news from his ex-fiancée. In fact, they were now engaged again. Therefore, before he regretted it all later, he wanted to share this good news with his mother. Luckily, his mother’s schedule wasn’t too busy today, so he could discuss the engagent news more freely. He was a little doubtful that his mother would approve of their relationship, as his last failed relationship was with Arabella five years ago.
"Mom, I want to tell you so good news."
Diana greeted her son’s arrival with a beaming smile. "What’s up, Cliff? Did you win over the investors?"
"It’s not about work. It’s about my love life." Cliff lowered his head for a mont. "Mom, Edith and I are getting married."
Diana had actually suspected that luck would favor her biological son after seeing all the photos her assistant had provided. However, she continued to feign ignorance to avoid arousing his suspicions. Her eyes widened and her mouth dropped open.
"Really? This ti Edith is serious about marrying you?"
"Of course. Edith feels guilty because for five years, she’s been insensitive to . Even though I’ve helped her so much."
"I’m still having a hard ti believing all this. Your wedding was called off. Now you’re back together."
Cliff held his mother’s right hand with a happy look. "Mom, you don’t have to worry anymore. This ti, I won’t let Callum take Edith away from ."
"But you have to promise sothing too, Cliff. You won’t make another mistake. You won’t embarrass our family again!"
"Don’t worry. I won’t act rashly again. Besides, isn’t Arabella engaged to Callum?"
"Yes, you’re right. Everything will definitely go smoothly now." Diana snapped her fingers for a mont. "That’s right! So that everyone doesn’t rember the dark past, how about we just have an engagent party?"
"Mom, when do you want to have the engagent party? I have to prepare everything with Edith."
"Maybe you could have an engagent party in two weeks. Is that too soon?"
"No. I think the sooner the better before Edith changes her mind again."
"Good. Anyway, you have to think of a way to stop her from running away from you again."
*****
Several days have passed, and Edith still refuses to communicate with Callum except regarding the children. Sotis, Edith asks Callum for help looking after Eliana, or vice versa. Callum also asks for help with work. Therefore, Edith cannot block Callum’s contact because their relationship is still bound by a contract.
Even though Callum had been contacting her frequently to try and persuade her again, Edith remained unconcerned, prioritizing the smooth running of her mission. Furthermore, Cliff had already inford her that their engagent party was in two weeks. Edith hadn’t told Callum this yet, as she didn’t want him to be shocked by the bad news. She hadn’t wanted to go this far. Would she still be trapped in her own mission?
Edith decided to spend the holiday with her daughter for the first ti since her fight with Callum. As usual, she didn’t want to be disturbed by anyone and wanted to stay indoors all day.
ding...dong...
Hearing the doorbell ring, Edith opened the door to her ho to welco an unexpected visitor on her holiday. She hadn’t expected Callum to visit her with Erdin on a holiday, even though it wasn’t her job as a nanny on holidays.
"Callum, what are you doing?"
Callum smiled mischievously as he held up a paper bag. "Of course, because Erdin misses you so much. He needs you to give him so guidance on his drawing howork."
Her eyes narrowed as she stared at her ex-lover’s mischievous expression. "It wasn’t because you wanted to visit on a whim, was it?"
"Why would I ss around? Besides, according to the contract, you’re also responsible for babysitting my son at all tis."
Edith was forced to let her two precious guests into her ho before anyone could witness them. Edith also couldn’t bear to see her son, who continued to display a gloomy expression, having rarely played lately.
Of course, Edith maintained her professional deanor as a nanny. She provided guidance on the drawings Erdin had painstakingly created. In fact, she was also peeking at Callum’s plans during his visit to the apartnt. Callum’s constant staring made her feel even more awkward.
"Callum, can you stop looking at ?"
"Edith, who said I wanted to see you? I was just looking at the curtains, which are starting to get dirty."
"I’ll change the curtains later."
"I’ll replace it." Callum quickly got up from the sofa.
"No need, Callum! I can change myself!"
"But, changing curtains is a man’s job."
Finally, Edith pressed her lips together tightly and sighed. "Okay, I won’t stop you. But don’t make look like a bad person by taking the initiative to do sothing so serious in soone else’s house."
"Even though your house is my house too."
A few minutes passed, and Callum finished changing the curtains and returned to the sofa next to his ex-girlfriend. Now he was thinking about how he could stay here longer throughout the day. He had planned this with his son to make it seem natural.
"Since I’ve finished giving you advices, how about you guys go ho?"
Erdin imdiately pouted. "Mom, I haven’t even finished drawing yet. Why did you chase and Dad away?"
Callum laughed casually as he looked at his ex-girlfriend. "It seems like your mom is really nervous because she hasn’t played with you in a while."
ding...dong...
Hearing the doorbell ring, Edith imdiately ran to the main door and greeted another unexpected visitor. This ti, it was Cliff, leaving her jaw dropping.
"Cliff, what are you doing here?"
"Why are you asking ? I actually wanted to discuss the engagent with you."
Edith is increasingly panicked that Cliff has co to her now to discuss this important matter. So, what will happen to Callum and Erdin, who are also visiting her?
