His heart nearly jumped when he greeted his stepmother’s arrival that morning. His stepmother usually never visited him on holidays, unless there was an ulterior motive. It wasn’t just Diana’s perspective that hated Callum; Callum also deeply resented Diana because his relationship with Edith had always been troubled by Diana.

Last night, Callum had hoped nothing new would happen to them. However, a new problem arose, and he had to do everything he could to keep Diana out of the house. If Diana found out about their rekindled relationship, he was sure she would torture Edith again.

"Why won’t you let in? Did I co at a bad ti?" Diana asked sharply.

"I’d rather ask you a question. Why are you coming to now? Haven’t I always said I hate rude people coming into my house?" Callum replied coldly.

"Actually, I ca to you now because there’s sothing I want to discuss with you. Would you like us to discuss it here so that others can hear?"

Ultimately, Callum couldn’t resist his stepmother’s cunning excuses. Furthermore, if he didn’t let her into his ho, his reputation would be ruined by gossip among the neighbors. Therefore, he was forced to sacrifice his girlfriend rather than let their relationship fall apart again.

"Okay, then you wait in the garden first. I’ll clean up the house."

"Indeed, why can’t I go into the house first?"

"Would you like to see my ssy house because Erdin always makes a ss? Would you like to see toys scattered all over the floor?"

A sly smile spread across his face. The stranger things Callum said, the more Diana suspected that Edith had actually been living with him all this ti.

"Okay, I like walking around your yard anyway. As usual you always spoil your son!"

"Erdin is still little, so it’s perfectly normal that he still makes a ss of the house!"

Callum swiftly ran into his house and grabbed his girlfriend’s hand as he turned off the stove. He led her up the stairs and into their bedroom, along with Eliana. He hid the two of them in the walk-in closet to avoid being caught by Diana. Callum hadn’t wanted to tell Diana that their relationship was back on track.

Edith was actually curious as to why Callum was suddenly acting strange, even though nothing had happened in the kitchen. Was there sothing wrong with the guest who had visited them so early in the morning?

"Callum, what really happened?"

Callum swallowed nervously as he looked at his little daughter. "Sorry, but you two need to hide for now. Once the guest has left, you can leave."

Eliana pursed her lips and lowered her head. "Daddy, did the witch co to the house?"

Callum didn’t expect his little daughter to guess correctly. Seeing his daughter as intelligent as her mother made Callum feel a little relieved, as other children would usually whine when asked to do sothing they didn’t like.

"Yes, the witch suddenly ca. That’s why I also told you to hide with your mother."

"That witch is really scary!"

"Now you don’t need to be afraid anymore as long as your mother is there to protect you."

Edith stared at her lover wearily, her right hand slowly stroking his head. "Are you really okay welcoming her so early in the morning?"

"Actually, I don’t mind because she’s my stepmother. But I’m worried about you guys. Is it okay for you to hide like this? You haven’t sinned, but you act like you have."

"It doesn’t matter to as long as I can protect you."

"Edith..."

"You’d better hurry before your stepmother gets suspicious. You definitely won’t let her hang around the yard any longer."

Callum pressed his lips to his lover’s forehead for a few seconds, then hugged her tightly. "I’ll be right back. I definitely won’t let that old woman find you."

"Don’t worry. Eliana and I can hide here. Besides, I haven’t finished trying on all the clothes you bought yet."

"I will definitely end it as soon as possible."

Now it was ti for Callum to return to reality. He finally let his stepmother into the living room. There, Erdin was alone, watching cartoons with a gloomy expression.

Erdin hated it when a witch ca to his house. He was even more curious about what other tricks the witch would use to annoy his father, making him feel worse.

anwhile, Diana remained silent, staring at the father and son, their expressions still innocent. She knew Callum was hiding sothing, as she saw the large house seed to be filled with people.

"Erdin, how have you been?"

"I’m still healthy," Erdin replied curtly.

"But, weren’t you busy playing with toy cars earlier? Your father said you were playing."

"I really can’t watch now?!"

Callum laughed awkwardly, patting his son’s shoulder. "Sorry, Erdin’s always been a bit temperantal in the morning. Maybe he’s not used to welcoming people in the morning."

"But you have to raise him well. He’s still young, and he should be polite to his elders."

A heavy sigh escaped his tiny lips. "I was being polite earlier!"

"Erdin, could you be a little nicer to your grandmother?" Callum grinned at his son who continued to throw a tantrum.

Erdin rolled his eyes lazily. "I was just watching."

Diana patted her stepson’s shoulder reassuringly. "Co on, this little thing doesn’t need to be a big deal anymore. Besides, it’s all my fault for bothering you all so early in the morning."

Now it was Callum’s turn to be unfriendly to his stepmother. He offered her a cup of bitter tea and sat down next to her. He already had a bad feeling about Diana’s arrival.

"So, what exactly did you want to discuss with ? It seems pretty important that you took the initiative to co to ."

Diana flashed another sly smile as she sipped her tea. "Actually, I ca to see you because I wanted to make sure you married Arabella as soon as possible."
