Callum carried his lover’s body to their bedroom and gently laid her lithe body on the bed. He looked pityingly at his girlfriend, who was still asleep despite nearly falling off the sofa. If she had woken up, he wouldn’t hesitate to scold her for overworking herself.
His right hand gently stroked her soft cheek. "Why did you go to all this trouble if you don’t love ? You should just sleep if you’re so tired."
Edith suddenly opened her eyes slowly, staring at this handso man’s face so close to hers that her heart was pounding. She imdiately looked away and quickly pulled back the blanket.
"Oh my God! How could I fall asleep?"
Callum crossed his arms. "This is what you did for working so hard that you fell asleep! Anyway, I won’t let you work past midnight now!"
"But the ball is in two days! I have to finish it by tomorrow so you can try it first."
"You still have to rest because you are human!"
Her lips pouted at the sound of her lover’s shout. "You could have spoken to nicely. No need to yell at !"
Callum hugged her lithe body so tightly that it was difficult for her to move. "I won’t let you go. I don’t want to see your fingers hurt again."
"Even though I didn’t do it on purpose."
"Edith, thank you for being so supportive of . I really appreciate it. But you have to prioritize your health, too. If you’re sick, I’ll be sad too."
"Actually, I also wanted to wear gloves because my index finger was injured. As for the gloves, I already asked my assistant to make them for us."
"Edith..."
Edith chuckled, stroking her lover’s soft cheek with slightly teary eyes. If the man in front of her were Cliff, she wouldn’t be enjoying her current happiness. That was the main reason she wanted to make a special outfit for Callum, as a sign of her deep love for him.
"You’ll definitely look even more handso wearing my clothes. I can’t wait to see how you look."
"By the way, we haven’t practiced dancing again."
Edith slapped her forehead repeatedly. How stupid she was to forget the most important thing while attending the masquerade ball. "Oh my God! Why didn’t you remind ?"
"Because I didn’t have the heart to bother you either. You were so enthusiastic about finishing our outfits."
"But, we also have to be able to dance later!"
Callum kissed the sharp nose in front of him briefly, causing Edith’s eyes to widen. "I like you more and more."
"You suddenly confessed your feelings to ?"
"Because I don’t want to regret it."
"Because you kissed my nose earlier, I’m feeling even more stressed! That ans I have to make us so really perfect clothes."
"Don’t push yourself too hard. In fact, the kids are really worried about you because you haven’t been playing with them much lately."
A heavy sigh escaped his lips. "Are they starting to hate because I’m so indifferent now?"
"No. They’re very supportive of you finishing this project first. Once you’ve successfully designed our clothes, you can play with them as much as you like."
Her eyes flickered as she stared at her lover’s handso face, which had always so captivated her. Should she tell him the truth about the DNA test results? She might not be able to enjoy his handso face every night.
"Edith, you should go to sleep now. I won’t bother you anymore."
Finally, Edith gave in and complied with her lover’s orders. She was too lazy to argue with him over trivial matters. Besides, she also wanted to quickly forget the DNA test results that had been haunting her to this day.
As she entered the dream world, she suddenly found herself in a sedan. She was holding her infant daughter, and beside her was Callum, who was holding his son. For so reason, this ti she could clearly see herself with Callum. Now, Callum was proven to be the father of her child, without the need for DNA proof. But what was the aning of her dream?
Suddenly, her car was hit by a truck, causing it to roll over and lose its shape. Witnessing the accident, even for a brief mont, terrified her.
"Edith, wake up!"
Hearing her lover’s screams in the real world, she instantly awoke from her nightmare. Her arms instinctively wrapped tightly around his muscular body. She cried out, her breathing becoming increasingly labored.
"I’m scared, Callum."
"This is why I won’t let you marry another man. If you’re this scared, who will protect you later?"
"I want to be with you. Please, don’t leave , Callum."
Callum was actually very curious about what had happened to Edith. Had the mories of the accident returned, causing Edith’s ntal state to beco unstable? Why did the bad mories have to co back to her mind? He had desperately hoped she would rember all the wonderful monts they had shared.
"I won’t leave you, Edith. If I did, I’d go crazy at any mont. You don’t have to be afraid anymore."

The next day, Callum worked enthusiastically in his office, eager to try on the suit his girlfriend had specially designed. Although his girlfriend had had a nightmare the night before, he managed to calm her down, and she had a beautiful dream instead. Now, he began to tidy up his desk, as after trying on the suit his girlfriend had designed, he wanted to have so fun with her before attending the ball tomorrow.
Just as he was about to leave the room, the annoying woman suddenly approached him again, making his blood pressure even more unstable. He rolled his eyes and loosened his tie in annoyance.
"Why did you co to visit again? Do you still not understand what I ant last ti?"
"Anyway, I want you to dance with later. I don’t like seeing you alone at parties."
The corners of his lips lifted confidently. "Who said I’d be alone? I already have a dance partner. She’s way more attractive than you!"
