Her eyes welled with tears as she stared at the pair of diamond rings displayed before her, and the stunning view of the lake, with a pair of swans still swimming in the middle. Edith hadn’t expected Callum to actually propose to her in the right way. They were getting married soon, but Callum still wanted to improve on his awkward proposal. A happy smile graced her beautiful face, and she crouched down in front of her fiancé for a mont.
"Callum, why did you propose to all of a sudden?"
"Because I’ve always wanted to propose to you here, actually." His lips pursed for a mont. "I’ve been planning this for five years. After you gave birth, or during your first trister, I wanted to take you here just to propose."
Tears of joy stread down her cheeks. "You don’t need to bother proposing to now. I’ll definitely marry you."
"Actually, I haven’t taken you to the jewelry store lately because I’ve been saving this ring for a long ti. This is our real wedding ring."
Her eyes focused on a pair of rings whose design was familiar. She thought for a mont, then her eyes widened and her mouth dropped open.
"This ring is the ring we designed five years ago!"
Callum nodded. "Yeah, I still have our sketch to this day. This ring was actually already finished before the accident."
Edith couldn’t hold back the tears of joy that kept flowing until Callum looked at her with pitying eyes, wiping her wet cheeks. "I always keep it in a safe so people can’t get it."
"Even if you really did marry Arabella, would you still keep that ring forever?"
"Of course. That ring is for you and only."
Her arms wrapped around her fiancé’s broad back. "Thank you for keeping it for all this ti. I can’t wait to officially be your wife."
"But aren’t you already my wife?" A mischievous smile spread across his handso face. "Since our marriage certificate is finalized, you’re already my wife."
"Callum..."
"I’m sorry if I’m still not good at proposing to you in a romantic way. I—"
Edith imdiately kissed those sexy lips enthusiastically, expressing the happiness she was experiencing. Callum slowly tucked the ring box into his coat pocket, then lifted his wife up and continued the kiss, circling her. His wish to propose to Edith in a beautiful place like this had finally co true, even though it had taken five years of waiting.
They kissed for a long ti, until their bodies grew warm. Edith ended the kiss by kissing his soft cheek. "I can’t wait to wear my wedding dress on our wedding day."
Callum nodded, spinning his fiancée around excitedly. " too. Especially walking down the aisle with you."
"I’m curious about you. Is there another surprise you want to give ?"
Callum lifted his head right in front of his fiancée’s red lips. "What else do you want from ?"
"I just want you. That’s enough for ."
"Are you sad because I didn’t give you an engagent ring?"
Edith shook her head quickly. "I don’t mind if there’s no engagent ring. I always wear your necklace, and that’s enough for ." Her arms wrapped around her fiancé’s broad back. "I just want you to be a good husband. I don’t like an overly lavish lifestyle."
"Is there anything else you want?"
"I want you to always be a good father to our twins."
Callum laughed softly, kissing his fiancée’s cheek repeatedly. "Is there anything else?"
"I want you not to push yourself."
"Of course. If I’m not feeling well, I’m not like you who pushes yourself too hard."
Her right eyebrow raised. "Aren’t you the sa as ? You’re always pushing yourself, but you don’t realize it."
"This ti, I really won’t force myself. Besides, I’m definitely not happy if I do."
"If there was an important eting and I needed you, which would you prefer?"
"Of course I prefer you."
Edith rolled her eyes, pinching her fiancé’s soft cheek with a little force. "I knew you wouldn’t be able to think straight on sothing like this."
"There’s no way I’m going to let you suffer alone when I prioritize my work!"
"Just like now. You imdiately cleared your schedule to spend ti with here."
Callum laughed out loud as he ran around the lake, carrying his fiancée.
anwhile, Edith laughed, staring at Callum’s childish behavior, which was always adorable in her eyes. "Callum! I want to play with you a little longer!"
"Really? Don’t you usually not like carrying you for too long?"
"Because it’s been a long ti since we’ve played as much as we did now. And especially since no one’s watching us."
"Actually, soone saw us." Callum pointed to a pair of swans still swimming in the lake. "Those swans."
Callum’s jokes again made Edith laugh until her stomach ached. "The swans must be rooting for us to play now."
"I want our relationship to be like that pair of swans."
"They are very calm and enjoy their life without anyone bothering them."
"Instead of talking about geese, how about we continue playing now? I want to play tag with you."
"Then, put down now. Since I’ve been sick, I’ve actually been wanting to play tag with you."
Callum narrowed his eyes for a mont. "Now that I think about it, I think I’d rather carry you than play tag."
"It’s more fun if I run around."
Callum deliberately rubbed his nose against her aquiline one. "I don’t want your beautiful legs to ache from chasing ."
"Isn’t it more likely that you’re the one who’s afraid of losing?"
Callum burst out laughing as he ran along the lakeshore, still carrying his fiancée. "I want to stop ti right now."
"Why?"
"Because I want to be here with you longer. I’ve been searching for this beautiful place for a long ti." Callum put his fiancée down for a mont and took out his phone. "I want to take a picture with you, too."
"Even though later we will also be photographed by the photographer here."
"The photos would have been better if it were just us here."
