Callum wondered what Yvette wanted to discuss that had her kicking Edith out of the room. He guessed it was about sothing outside of work. In reality, Callum was forced to comply with Yvette’s wishes to ensure the success of his secret mission. Winning Yvette’s heart would make it easier to apprehend her as the mastermind behind the accident.
Callum still smiled kindly at Yvette, even though he really wanted to get out of this situation. He poured her a cup of tea to help her calm down.
"Thank you, Callum."
"By the way, what did you want to talk to about?"
"Actually, I’m still curious. How did you find Edith after five years of separation? Edith once told that you were actually still looking for her."
"Because I really don’t want to give it to another man, especially Cliff. Only Edith can make smile until now."
"Really? Are you really not interested in other won?"
"No. Even though I was matched with a woman more beautiful than Edith, I only consider Edith to be the most beautiful and sweet woman in my eyes."
Yvette nodded, crossing her legs. "I can see it in the way you treat her sincerely. Edith is very lucky to have you."
"Actually, eting her after five years was a miracle for . We were brought together because our twins t at school. Since I t her, I’ve never let her go again like I did before."
"Every ti I see Edith, I always hear your stories from her. Hearing her stories always makes jealous."
Callum laughed softly as he stared at Yvette’s face, which seed to be holding back anger. "While I can have Edith, you can have too."
Yvette’s heart skipped a beat at Callum’s unexpected words. Was she dreaming? Why would Callum suddenly say sothing that could shatter their engagent? However, Yvette wanted to put aside her curiosity, as she wouldn’t be able to fully enjoy this rare mont with Callum.
"You must have been joking, Callum. If Edith heard what you said, she wouldn’t forgive you."
"I an, if it’s work-related, you can ask for help. I can give you advice, too."
"You are so friendly, Callum."
Callum glanced at the luxury watch on his left wrist. "Speaking of which, I have to go now. Edith must have been waiting for for too long."
Yvette imdiately got up from the sofa. "Would you like to walk you outside?"
"No need. Let do it."
Callum was more likely disgusted by Yvette’s flirtatious expression. She imdiately took his hand and walked quickly out of the room.
Callum felt incredibly hot from facing a criminal head-on. Now he was taking his little family out for ice cream at his favorite restaurant. He ordered a bowl of vanilla and chocolate ice cream for himself and his fiancée. His twins were each given an ice cream cone.
"By the way, it’s unusual for you to ask out for ice cream. It’s cloudy outside," Edith asked innocently as she ate a scoop of chocolate ice cream.
"I was actually nervous talking to Yvette earlier. I expected her to talk about things outside of work."
"But did sothing happen between you two?" Edith crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes. "You seed in a hurry when you left the room."
"Are you jealous?"
"Not jealous! I’d rather pull her hair and slap her face for teasing you without my knowledge."
Callum burst out laughing, gently pinching his fiancée’s cheek. "You’re so adorable when you’re angry."
"So, what are you going to do now? Do you really want to tease her until she trusts you completely?"
"Of course. I must make her confess to her cris by any ans necessary."
"Even though she asked you to sleep with her?" Edith whispered, looking at her twins who were still innocently enjoying their ice cream.
Callum leaned his lips close to his fiancée’s ear. "If she ever treats like that, I’ll have other plans."
Edith gave two thumbs up. "You really are different from Cliff."
