Ken was oddly tired after running around with his students as Scott called them. He gave no regard and sat himself on the ground next to Sydney’s swing then lay his head on her thigh.
Sydney’s eyes twinkled as she looked down on Ken. His eyes were closed and his wolf ears had dropped too. He seed to have tanned from spending the day out in the sun. She giggled and massaged his hair making him pur in his nap but even this action didn’t move him at all.
She felt sothing wrap around her calf only to see that Ken’s bushy tail was wrapped around her. She looked back at his face and sighed. "Rest for now." she murmured and kept gently patting his head.
Outside the city walls.
Shawn ca to a sudden halt when he noticed the group that was hunting from the city walls area.
He lowered his body and the eagle beastman got off confused but didn’t ask why. He was too weak to mind anyway!
Shawn imdiately shifted into his human form and hid behind the shrub and look at the group. He noticed a few familiar figures and cursed before he drew back and looked at the eagle beastman who was leaning weakly against the tree trunk.
We will be entering the city but we shouldn’t speak a word of what happened!" Shawn said making the eagle beastman frown in confusion. What not say a word?
I know it’s a little hard to understand right now but if we speak a word of what happened, then the city will fall into chaos. We don’t want that happening!" Shawn took his ti to explain. "It’s strays that attacked us."
The eagle beastman contemplated for a while before nodding in understanding. I’ll try my best." he assured making Shawn sigh in relief.
He shifted his attention from the beastman back to the group only to see that they had moved into the inner city. He sighed and turned to leave when he saw a pair of strong legs covered in scales.
What are you sneaking about?" Titan who had noticed Shawn a long tis asked. He had thought he’d openly co out but he stayed hidden making him frown and co check what was wrong.
He didn’t expect to find a wounded eagle beast. Earlier, the sll of blood from the student’s gas filled the air but now that they were far away, the scent was clearly that of a beastman.
"Oh! I thought you didn’t notice !" Shawn laughed and stood up to et Titan’s eyes.
"You’ve not answered my question. Why are you sneaking about? Why is the scout Caden sent injured? Better not think of lying to !" Titan glared at Shawn who was a head shorter than him.
Shawn t Titan’s eyes stubbornly before he retracted them. He couldn’t stand pressure froma higher ranking beast. We were ambushed!" Shawn said stepping back to create space between them.
"I can tell that much!" Titan replied and scanned Shawn’s body. He had a few scratches that were minor. He squinted his eyes at Shawn. How co soone in the sky was beat to this state yet Shawn seed fine? Even more, the eagle warrior was stronger than Shawn! "Who ambushed you?"
"The falcons." Shane replied seeing he had no room for escaping and hiding the truth from him.
Hearing that it was the falcons again, Titan frowned. "Why? Did they tell you why they attacked you?"
"Why would they tell ?" Shawn didn’t think Titan would think along those lines. Yes they had told him but this matter was his own and didn’t intend to share it with anyone.
"You are still considered blind to them! Of course they’ll gloat before attacking you. So tell ! What was their purpose."
Shawn but his lower lip in frustration. Telling Titan was not going to weild anything good! This guy didn’t have locks on his anger issues. He’d only blow this matter out of proportion. "This is my matter with them! You don’t need to probe into it as I can handle it perfectly!" there was only once choose left and that was to sideline him.
Titan looked at Shawn and understood why he chose not to tell him but that didn’t an he won’t learn of it.
"You seem to be able to use your eyes just fine!" Titan pointed out with a complicated look as he observed Shawn’s back. His words stunned Shawn making him stiffen. Shit!! Why the heck did he not handle this matter earlier! He gritted his teeth but didn’t turn to look at Titan.
"Why do I feel like you’ve changed? Is there sothing you aren’t telling us?" Titan asked coldly.
Are you suspecting ?!" Shawn turned back to look at Titan.
I wasn’t before ..but now I am. Is there sothing you aren’t telling us?!" Titan’s eyes flashed with a murderous glint.
You weren’t there before so you know nothing! Telling you will yeild nothing! It’s better if you just stay the way you are and just be the mate you are supposed to be. Just....just never leave Sydney’s side!" Shawn said seriously and turned to leave.
He walked up to the eagle beastman and helped him up. The poor guy had already passed out and didn’t know about anything.
Ken’s words ant and hinted at sothing. Titan felt it but didn’t understand! Is there sothing going on? He wanted to pull Shawn back to question him but didn’t and watched him disappear behind the city walls.
He hissed in irritation and stord off to head ho. He’d get a better ti to talk to Shawn nicely, his impression of him wasn’t bad and he knew Shawn would definitely tell him soday!
Also, the falcon clan wasn’t done with creating troubke!! He needed to have a talk with them!

Beast school.
Sydney stayed till all the cubs were perfectly fed and had retired for the night.
She walked over to Scott’s house where they had dinner. Her second day was fun but her mate’s seed a little bit odd?
Caden had a cold countance and a constant frown marked his face.
Shawn had returned but he didn’t have the supplies with him which was odd and he had refused to utter a word about it.
Ash was in a daze! It was a first! she didn’t understand why he’d behave that way!
Titan was irritated and he kept hissing angrily while frowning.
She had asked and asked but they all brished it off as sothing unimportant. She didn’t believe them! Who had the ability to unnerve her mates to such an extent?
She gulped down the glass of warm chia seed water and placed the cup on the table. I’m done." she announced and all her mates abandoned their thoughts to pay attention to her.
Let’s go back." Caden stood up from his seat and helped pull Sydney’s seat back. She stood up and looked at Scott who was still enjoying his al.
I won’t see you off Sydney. Good night." He shot her a simple smile then looked at her mates. He took a deep sigh and contemplated for a while before he put down his cutlery and suggested. "Why don’t you spend the night here?"
Sydney paused in her steps and looked at her brother. She smiled at him and shook her head at him. "It’s alright. I got this!" she assured him.
Alright. Good night!" Scott sighed defeatedly and continued with his food.
Ash stood up and carried their used dishes away. "Thank you for the al Scott." He thanked him.
"It’s nothing! You guys get ho and rest early!"

By the ti Sydney left her brother’s ho, it was already dark outside and fire torches could be seen illuminating the different houses along the way.
She refused them from carrying her and insisted on walking on her own. She led the way ho in silence and no one offered to open up a topic to talk about.
In the middle of the night, Titan descended from the second floor in soundless steps. He had a few scores to settle with the falcon king, he had got intel from the few snakes that were at the scene. They told him what the falcons said word for word and how they insulted Sydney. They also told him about Shawn’s peculiar behaviour and his fighting techniques which were terrifyingly brutal since all the falcon warriors were shredded to the last bone.
He didn’t expect Shawn to beyave this way but it seed related to what he told him during the day.
He halted in his steps when he sensed Ash in the sitting room. He was still in a daze.
"Ash." He called him startling the latter into looking at him in confusion. "Are you okay? You’ve been not yourself lately."
Ahh...you are up? I was just thinking about sothing deeply. It’s nothing." Ash brushed it off. I’m probably over thinking! How can I have children? It’s impossible!! This is the first ti I’m mated!
