"She keeps looking at you"
Lyra chuckled hearing Victor’s words. Thanks to her imnse awareness of her surroundings due to getting kidnapped multiple tis, she could sense when soone was looking at her no matter how subtle they were with it.
"Let her be....she seems curious about her brother’s mate. I would be too if I had a brother who suddenly married a girl without informing " That last thought made Lyra recall her family back on earth. If she had a brother then she wouldn’t have worried this much about her parents. She just wished they were healthy and happy even without her. On one side, she wanted them to forget her existence and go on with their life but her selfish side thought otherwise. Lyra wanted her parents to always love and miss her just like she was doing here. And about her biological parents, She didn’t want to think more about them because she felt like she would start to cry if she did that. Lyra just hoped the latter would be safe no matter where they were staying.
Lyra briefly closed and opened her eyes successfully pushing back the tears that threatened to co out. Then she smiled as she felt Victor’s arm around her. When she looked up at him, she could see that he was aware of her emotions. She once again acknowledged the mate bond as sothing amazing. It was like a God-given gift to Lyra.....her mates were the most precious gifts fate had given to her. Then on cue, she also felt Lucas’s fingers gripping around hers and felt him kiss the side of her face. Noah who had no chance with two of them holding her could do nothing but walk behind his mate. He rubbed his large palm along her fur coat-covered back letting her know of his presence.
After walking for quite so ti, both the lion and wolf entourage along with Lyra and her mates reached the snake castle. The latter ushered the guests inside and left to get so refreshnts to drink as they took seats.
Mona road her eyes around the snake castle taking in everything with surprise. It was indeed shocking, that cold-blooded beastn who were banned from entering the city now had their own residence and a tribe to co back to at the end of dusk. Snake and scorpion beastn were unpopular with the females because of their extre possessiveness and reluctance to get along with the other males. They loathed sharing their mates. Mona didn’t know what to feel about Lyra having cold-blooded beastn as her mate. Were they treating her well? Or was she threatened with being with them? These didn’t seem very far-fetched considering the track record of snake and scorpion beastn. However, for now, she decided to observe before coming to any conclusion. She was already proven wrong about Lyra having ulterior motives in mating with both Lucas and Noah. Her brothers looked nothing but happy with the female that they have chosen so Mona decided to let that matter go.
Nonetheless, she also wanted to confirm if Lyra was happy with her mates. It was none of her business but still couldn’t she do this much for her sister-in-law? That thought made Mona smile. She settled beside her mate before glancing at Lyra who was standing before them. The latter took the drinks from her mates’ hands before distributing them among the guests.
"Mona?" her brother’s call made Mona turn her attention from Lyra to him. And what she saw next left her wide-eyed, "These are my little champs" Those words from her brother made her look up at Noah. And when she saw him smiling softly, Mona felt her eyes well up before turning back to the two adorable fur balls on the ground.
"Babies....." She couldn’t help but bend down when the lion cubs skipped towards her. They looked at her warily at first but soon started to snuggle closer to her legs and started licking her affectionately, "They look just like you, brother Noah" Her heart swelled up in bliss gazing at the little cubs. They looked so fluffy and chunky.
Lucas had the brightest smile seeing his sister playing with the lion cubs. She looked so happy as she montarily forgot her surroundings while cuddling with his little champs.
King Sheru on the other hand was initially flustered seeing his mate shedding tears but relaxed when she didn’t look sad. He realized that these were happy tears instead of sad ones. His mate sotis did this whenever she was very happy. Though the first ti it happened had made him almost go berserk, he was quick to calm down when his mate cleared his misunderstanding by explaining how everyone has different ways of expressing joy. And now he could clearly see that she was happy...no, happy was an understatent. His mate now looked extrely elated. Maybe it was due to witnessing his brother-in-law’s nded relationship with Prince Noah or the delight in holding the cubs, whatever it was, Mona looked the happiest he had ever seen her before.
"They look so healthy and well-fed" Voiced out Mona admiring the energetic little cubs in her arms. They were so adorable that she had a hard ti letting them go. She wanted to cuddle them like this forever but knew she couldn’t because the cubs were not hers after all. She didn’t want to upset Lyra by hogging the little one to herself and decided to let them down the ground. Even if she didn’t have a litter of her own, she knew how protective mothers beca of their offspring once they gave birth.
Lyra who was looking at Mona could see that sothing had upset her. The latter looked very reluctant as she left the lion cubs on the ground, "You can hold them more if you wish" Words left her mouth before she could think and this in turn made Mona surprised.
The latter looked up at Lyra with her eyes twinkling in expectation and parted her lips saying words filled with hesitation, "Can I?" she fidgeted her hand before asking again, "Can I really do that?"
Lyra smiled at that. Lucas’ sister was such an adorable thing, "Of course, play with them as much as you want"
Mona squealed in delight as she completely got down on the ground before gathering the cubs into her arms. And the ever-energetic cubs responded with the sa vigor as they licked and played with the new female. They always wanted soone to play with them so this was like a dream co true for them.
