"Lyra, I want you to et soone" Lyra’s thoughts ca to a halt hearing Lucas’ words. He looked so excited as he guided her in a certain direction, "This is Mona, my sister"
Lyra smiled at that while looking at Mona, "I have heard quite a lot about you, Your Majesty" When both she and Lucas decided to share about each other lives, Mona, his sister was the first he ntioned right after his parents. Lyra could see that Lucas cherished his little sister. She also knew that they were technically half-siblings but this was not a big issue in the Beast world. Her Snake babies and Lion cubs were a good example in this regard. They loved each other like any normal siblings would back in her world.
Mona, on the other hand, snapped out of her stupor before greeting back, "There is no need for such formalities, You can call , Mona"
"Well...."Lyra drawled out not sure about that. She had been especially careful with the females here because most of them were unnecessarily hostile towards her but this was Lucas’ sister so she thought it was alright, "Then, Welco to the snake tribe, Mona. I hope you enjoy today’s banquet"
"I’m sure I’ll do" Mona briefly said not missing Lyra’s uneasiness. Well, this was their first eting. She was sure Lyra would co out of her shell as ti went on and show her true colors. Mona still didn’t believe Lyra to be fully innocent because females especially royals behaved and put up a facade in front of the females that were in their own standing to not create any unnecessary trouble in the future. That was why Queens were in a different league than the rest of the females. The forr had to have so tricks up their sleeve to bag a King as their mate. And Mona was alright with that because she herself was the sa when she t Sheru. She saw potential in him and seduced him. She wanted to bring the powerful tiger tribe’s backing to her maiden tribe. The black wolf tribe was such an eye-sore to the Silver wolf tribe back in the past and the only way she could keep the forr in check was by mating with Sheru.
She sohow learned about Elena’s plan to take the tiger king as her mate. Mona could never let that pesky female have that much influence. Not when Elena could pressure her brother more than before if she had beco the tiger queen. If that really happened then there was nothing the Silver Wolf tribe could have done other than sacrifice Lucas.
"I’ll excuse myself now, everyone" Mona’s thoughts ca to a halt when she heard the Lion King’s words. She saw as he kissed his mate’s cheek before saying, "Enjoy the banquet, Sweetness. I’ll return if possible"
"You must," said the Lion Queen, "Return to before I start to miss you"
"Should I accompany you, Leo?" asked the Wolf King as the Lion King was about to leave. However, the latter just shook his head before briefly saying, "One of us must always stay inside the city, Heli, no matter the circumstance. That is the rule"
"I know" Answered the wolf king as he saw his friend exit the snake tribe with so of his trusted comrades by his side. Both of them got the news about so suspicious movent near the city outskirts and hence decided to do a routine excursion as always. It seed like so unknown beastn were lurking around their territory and King Leonard wanted to check it by himself just to be on the safer side. And as always if one of them decided to go out of the city then the other one must always remain here to keep both the Lion and Silver Wolf fort in check. With strays occupying the Black Wolf tribe, it was inevitable for them to be extra careful at all tis.
After the Lion King’s departure, Mona slowly shifted her attention to the one leading her inside the snake tribe. Her brother’s mate was taking them to the snake castle so that they could rest before attending the banquet. She pointedly looked at Lyra and her brother’s bright smiling face as he walked beside the latter. Her brother took the shawl from Noah before snuggling it around his mate’s neck even when she was completely covered. Noah and her brother looked so happy....only when Mona was satisfied with what she saw did she turn her gaze to the unfamiliar male who was standing beside Lyra from the mont they stepped inside the snake tribe.
Silver hair that almost looked greyish compared to her brother’s stunning silver locks. However, the sharp silver eyes of the stranger looked daunting and bored as though he was not liking his current situation. Only when his gaze fell on Lyra did a soft smile tug on his lips. It seed like only his mate was in his sight and no one else.
"Who is he, mother?" Mona lightly whispered going near the latter.
The wolf Queen followed her daughter’s line of sight before answering, "He is King Victor of the Vulture tribe and Lyra’s mate. I’m just warning you, but I think you should get used to seeing more than one king in here" the Queen had an amused smile on her face as she added, "Your sister in law has multiple beast kings as her mates"
Mona was taken aback, How many were there for her mother to say like this? "Snake King, Vulture King, and then?" She wanted to know, Mona wanted to know more about her beautiful sister-in-law because the latter seed more than a pretty face.
The Wolf Queen could see her daughter’s curiosity and was glad to answer but did it in a low voice lest anyone else hear, the males would hear no matter how soft she spoke but females were different. The Queen didn’t want Lyra to hear them gossip about her, "Prince of scorpion tribe, and Lord of the north with Snake king and Vulture king are her official mates for now...and as for suitors, I don’t think I know much about that. Ah! And all except your brother and Noah are immortal beastn"
Mona felt her breath hitch. Her eyes went wide as she looked at the mother before glancing at King Victor. No wonder she felt overwheld even though she spent all her life with Five-marked Kings including her mate. The Vulture King was like a being that didn’t belong to this place. She hadn’t felt his presence before she had been occupied with other matters but now when she looked at him, Mona couldn’t help but snuggle herself closer to her mate. Then she hurriedly took her eyes away from the forr. It was like an instinct to not dare make her existence known to the one that was far above her.
