Killian felt his heart flutter hearing his mate’s sweet words. She was so understanding whereas he on the other side kept on bombarding her with his pesky insecurities. He felt inadequate and less worthy to have a mate like her who was wonderfully flawless in his eyes. She was all he could ask for and more. She was the rare treasure he found in his life and would never trade it for sothing else even if he had to die. He wanted to spend his entire life with her and when his death neared, wanted to take his last breath lying on her lap.
And Lyra could read what was going on in his mind, "Don’t do that!" she exclaid while flicking his forehead, "Don’t you dare overthink about things that don’t even matter" She didn’t like how he looked so lancholic and forlorn like it was the end of the world. All because of his overthinking.
His brows ca together as he rubbed the place where his mate had hit, "It’s not that....I just feel pathetic telling you about my problems that are not even important in the first place"
"You don’t get to decide that" stated Lyra, "I’m the one listening to your problems and I will be the one to decide whether they are worthy or not. Alright?" Why were all of her mates this insecure in so matters? They looked wonderful in their eyes and Lyra wanted them to see what she was seeing. She wanted them to beco more confident in themselves. Hence she chose to share her insecurity, "Sotis I feel less worthy of you guys too" Killian’s eyes went wide as she continued, "I feel like I don’t deserve having such wonderful males by my side. In the world where I lived, having more than one partner was considered a sham. I too felt quite guilty mating with multiple mates and even now have thoughts that I’m doing sothing bad. But you guys love and that is what is keeping sane"
Killian knew that she was struggling with the constant addition of males by her side but didn’t know it was to this level. He rarely talked about her old world to not trigger her longing for that place. However, that felt wrong now. He ought to have talked to her about this way before. Yes, he felt troubled when he saw his soulmate already mated with other males but now that hardly mattered to him. His mate never neglected him due to others and he was actually glad that she had others that were dedicated to protecting and keeping her safe.
"Just like you, I have my insecurities," Lyra said bringing him out of his thoughts. She traced his chiseled jaw with her thumb as she added, "But I don’t feel ashad sharing this with you. Even with my other mates, I talk about this matter freely and do you know the reason for that?"
Killian slightly shook his head while his mate smiled. She leaned forward planting her forehead against his before uttering, "It’s because I love you. There is nothing to be wary of when it cos to you guys. I get to be just as I am, so...my adorable panther, please don’t feel ashad of sharing your thoughts with . Be it good or bad, those are your thoughts and I’m always willing to listen to them"
Killian felt himself choke up and had difficulty replying. The only thing he could do was pull his mate toward him and embrace her. He tightened his grip around her soft body as though trying to rub her into his existence. She is his entire existence after all. His lovely mate who deserved the world.
And that thought alone made him fu in anger at that eagle bastard. To his wonderful and lovely mate.....how can that bastard betray her? Then again, he missed the opportunity for spending his entire life with soone this lovable. Nonetheless, he has to punish the one that had disrespected his mate.
So Killian chose to talk this out with his mate as she was involved in this. Pulling back from the hug, he started at her before parting his lips, "I don’t know if this the right ti to talk about this matter but I think it is important to hear your stand about this"
Lyra nodded encouraging him to say more and he did, "About Kyrell....." that na alone was enough to make her mood plumt but she decided to hear more, "We cannot let this matter slide, Love. This includes you as well as all of us. What Kyrell did...I an what his tribe did is sothing unacceptable. Even if you let this matter go, for now, there will always consequences in the future. The Eagle tribe should have known about this before they committed this blunder"
Lyra sighed. She knew what he was trying to say. The rules and regulations of the beast world were different from what she had grown up with. It would beco foolish of her to maintain her morality when that would adversely affect not only her but also her mates. The Eagle tribe disregarded Naoh too and once his father the lion king learns about this, he would definitely not let this slide. She had seen the love the Lion King had for her mate.
"Noah’s father will never sit back after hearing what occurred to his son and you" Killian had the sa thoughts as hers, "The latter is his only son and also an heir to the throne to the largest tribe in the beast world. And as for you, you are the mother of his grandchildren and his daughter-in-law. He would never tolerate what those fools did to you. So before it goes out of hand, I think you should decide your stand on this"
"I know" Lyra nodded agreeing with him, "But I didn’t take what they did just lying down, Killian. I made sure to give back what they gave to " She was talking about her slapping Kyrell’s mate. Lyra never liked hitting soone.....that was never her but she also didn’t want to get bullied when she did no wrong. It just didn’t sit right with her. And slapping Alice was the right thing in her mind. She still didn’t regret it and would never in the future too.
"But I think that was enough" This was what she wanted to say, "That woman slapped , and I slapped her back. I want this matter to end at that. About Kyrell.....he is nothing to anymore and I don’t even want to think about that person. So, please....I want all of this to end"
Killian observed his mate’s face. She looked so distraught saying those words. Even amidst her disappointnt and anger at Kyrell, he could see that she still loved that bastard. How could she not? She had spent a lot of ti with that guy and he likewise adored her. When she went missing in the fox tribe, Kyrell looked so lost and terrified. He didn’t even try to defend himself when they attacked him. He let them beat him up as though he had given up his life. One wrong move from them could have killed him but Kyrell didn’t seem to mind that.
For soone like that to give up on his beloved, it didn’t seem plausible. But it is what it is. Everything was over now and nothing would change even if they think about it.
"I heard that you guys beat up Kyrell" his mate bringing him out of his thoughts. There was no accusation in her gaze, she was just asking him about this, "Seeing that would have definitely made his tribesn angry. They weren’t able to defend their king and had to just stand on the sidelines watching everything that was going on. So their bitterness towards , the direct cause of their king getting hurt is understandable. Killian, I’m not blaming you or my other mates but what you guys did was indeed wrong"
Killian frowned as she added, "And every action has its own consequences for them. You guys hurt Kyrell and his mate took it out on . I would too if soone hurts you guys. So, I think we should let this matter go. We have more important things to worry about other than this"
Lyra took a deep breath before concluding, "And this is my stand in this matter and I hope you guys will respect it"
"I understand" Killian muttered while kissing her forehead, "We will do just as you say"
Lyra smiled and hugged him burying her face in his chest, "Thank you"
"Anything for you, Love" Killian hugged her back and caressed her back hoping that others would agree with this. He would try to peacefully explain this to his mate’s other males but if they don’t agree....then he could do nothing but force them to agree.
