’’What?’’ Lucas asked in disbelief. He felt like giving soone a good beating. But right this mont, the one he wanted to beat was Xavier. Yes, the sa fox prince who helped in curing the cubs.
Maybe that was the reason why he was still sitting in his place calmly even after hearing the news about Xavier holding a coronation banquet. Lucas still couldn’t believe everything that he had heard. The entire beast city was right now on alert due to the stray beasts. Those pests have fearlessly infiltrated their ho but all they could do now was stay quiet because they were incapable of driving them out. Incapable might sound harsh but Lucas was not able to find any more appropriate word for their current predicant.
They indeed failed to properly guard the city against those intruders and that in turn was resulting their plight right now.
And what? Xavier wanted to organize his coronation banquet without caring about all this.
He glanced at Noah and noticed that his friend was also thinking the sa. It sounded absurd to anyone who would hear about this. But most of all, a coronation banquet of all the tribes inside the city was equally important. And as the princes of their tribes, both of them had no other choice but to attend it. It was the sa for Blake, Demir, Kyrell, and Victor. As the kings of their individual tribes, they have to attend it without fail.
It did not end there. Their mate would also have to attend and that was what worried him. He didn’t want her to even step her foot outside the castle until the stray beasts are driven out of the city.
’’Killian will not agree to send her out’’ Noah said breaking the prolonged silence between them.
Lucas frowned and said, ’’Even I will not allow’’
Noah sighed, ’’You know it is not sothing that we can decide’’
’’I don’t care’’ Lucas snapped showing his displeasure, ’’The last ti she attended a banquet almost caused her and cubs their life. She was poisoned while pregnant and we are still recovering from that incident. I’m not sending my Ly out when those stray beasts are roaming everywhere"
All of them would never be able to forget the dark phase when they had to look at their mate and the cubs suffer. If not for Victor getting the spirit wings, then they wouldn’t know what to do and would continue to live with the pain of losing those innocent cubs all their lives.
’’I will try to talk to my father about this’’ Noah said while getting up from his seat. He too felt that it was risky for his mate to attend the banquet.
As Noah left for the lion tribe, Lucas walked up to Blake’s room. After a knock, he opened the door and looked and Lucas with curious eyes, ’’What is it?’’
’’Where is Ly?’’
"With Killian, I think’’ he replied briefly and furrowed his brows when he noticed Lucas’ serious expression, ’’What happened? Why do you look like that?’’
And when Lucas finished explaining, Blake was seething.
He tightly clenched his jaw and said through his gritted teeth, ’’Has he lost his mind or sothing? He wants to get hold of his throne when the entire city is in chaos?’’
Blake got angrier the more he talked, ’’Lilly will not be going anywhere and that is final. I will take care of the consequences if any arise later’’
Lucas nodded agreeing with his words, ’’I thought the sa thing. I told you to keep you inford just in case’’
After talking with Blake, he felt even more affird with his decision to not let his mate out of the rose castle.

LION TRIBE
Noah soon reached his tribe and without wasting any more ti, he walked toward his father’s throne room.
King Leonard noticed his son’s bad mood as soon as he entered. He sent everyone else out of the throne room and now only his son and he were left facing each other.
He curiously looked as his son opened his mouth saying, ’’I heard about the Fox tribe holding a banquet?’’
Now he understood the reason for his son to get so worked up. He climbed down from the throne before walking towards him, ’’I just got the news. And following that, prince Xavier sent soone to invite our tribe’’
Noah frowned, "And did you accept it?’
’’The lion tribe is one of the biggest tribes in the city. It wouldn’t look favorable for us to skip a coronation banquet" His father said seriously. It would look excusable for the ti being but when Noah ascends the throne, then many problems might arise. Other tribes might think that it is okay to skip an important banquet because the well-reputed king of the Lion tribe did it first. The rules laid out in the beast city were decided by all of the kings who built it and the lion king was one of them together with his friend King Helio of the silver wolf tribe. The rules and customs should never be broken by them because the entire city that they have built is based on them.
’’And most of all, Prince Xavier helped in saving my grandsons’’ It could be said that this was the biggest reason for him to not skip the banquet. His precious grandsons were alive and well thanks to the fox prince. King Leonard had heard that it was Xavier who stopped the poison from reaching the cubs’ hearts until spirit wings were brought by the vulture king.
"I cannot thank him enough for that. So the least I could do is attend his coronation banquet’’ the king said firmly and Noah realized that he cannot change his father’s decision.
Every word of his father’ was true that he couldn’t refute. So the only solution he ca up with was, ’’I will attend but my mate will not. Is that alright?’’
King Leonard just opened his mouth to reply but a soft and firm voice interrupted him, "Absolutely not. As the next queen of the lion tribe, she should attend the banquet’’
Noah turned around and saw his mother walking inside the throne room, "But it is dangerous out there, mother. Those stray beasts are inside the city. What if sothing happens to her?’’
The lion queen sighed, ’’It is just a banquet Noah....she will be alright’’
’’My mate got kidnapped and poisoned the last banquet that she attended’’ He was not going to have it. Nothing ca before his mate’s safety. Not even his own tribe.
The queen observed her son. She could understand his thoughts because every male who has a mate acted like this. Be it a king or a prince, the only thing that mattered to them was their mate’s well-being. But so things cannot be alerted just for that sake. In fact, Lyra should have started doing her duties as future lion queen as soon as she beca her son’s mate.
But both the lion king and queen didn’t ntion it because, first of all, Lyra has multiple king beastn as her spouses. She would get overwheld if all of those tribes demanded her to perform her queen duties. In a tribe, a king is soone who handles the official matters whereas a queen was responsible for looking after the internal matters like food distribution, holding a ceremony when the female ca of age, organizing banquets and duels for mate selection, and many more. This was why many females aspired to beco mates with a king beastn. They wanted the power to wield and for their children to ascend the throne.
Due to this, even with the low population of females, so of them who beca mates with a king beastman avoided having other males as their spouses. It was because having one king as their spouse was enough to fulfill all of their needs. But being a queen ca with duties that they have to fulfill.
For now, she was still doing the works but later when Noah ascends the throne, the tribe elders will demand Lyra to stay in the lion tribe. The queen didn’t know how that would work. It could result in utter chaos because Lyra had so many king beastn by her side.
The queen liked Lyra. She was such a lovable child and the queen was sure that she would try to perform her duties to her best if inford. But the queen did not want to burden her with it. As much as possible, she wanted Lyra to lead a comfortable life.
However, a coronation banquet was a different matter altogether. Their tribesn would expect their future queen to at least show her face once in a while. It was more like a reassurance for them when they knew what to foresee from their future queen.
’’I will talk to Lyra. She will definitely understand’’ the queen muttered.
Noah didn’t know what to say. Yes, his mate would very much understand and will instantly say that she will attend the banquet. If he had to ntion one bad habit of his mate, then it would be her strong sense of responsibility. She always worried about not being fair to all of her mates. Always tried to understand others and their worries that she forgot about her own well-being and worries.
Even while exhausted, she made sure to ask them about their day and smiled genuinely to soothe them but instead, it hurt his heart. He wanted to say to her that it was alright for her to take it easy. That it was alright for her to talk when she is tired and lean on them. But all of that was just wishful thinking because the mont he would utter those words, he would receive a worry-filled question.
’Are you alright? Did sothing happen?’
And with that, she would keep on asking questions until he would give up because instead of lifting her worries, his words only added to them.
