Chapter 72: Chapter 68: Did they throw the ga?

The sunglasses in front of

had a trendy design and striking color, carrying an attribute of sweet vitality.

They were indeed a pair of eye-catching sunglasses.

But they wouldn’t be quite suitable for the Fire-Toothed Dog to wear.

Because they were a pair of heart-shaped pink sunglasses.

Qiao Sang fell silent for a while before tactfully declining, “Better not, as you saw, the sunglasses the Fire-Toothed Dog wore in the last contest got smashed like that. If your sunglasses also get broken during the finals, I’m afraid it wouldn’t be good.”

“Tooth.”

...

The Fire-Toothed Dog nodded repeatedly and extended its paw to show off the damaged pair of red sunglasses.

Song Yuan laughed, “The material of the fras for our sunglasses is made from the claws of a Nicky Geck. I won’t make guarantees about other contests, but for a contest of Bai Xinsai’s level, it’s definitely no problem.”

“I know what you’re worried about, but you have to trust the instinct of a businessman, like a soft girl riding a motorcycle, or a restrained man hitting the nightclubs, it’s this kind of contrast that’s the most attractive.”

That did sound quite reasonable.

As expected of a businessman, Qiao Sang was almost persuaded.

However, since the Fire-Toothed Dog showed such resistance, Qiao Sang felt that he should respect its opinion.

“This might not really… suit the Fire-Toothed Dog,”

“If the Fire-Toothed Dog wears it during the finals, even if we don’t co to an agreent on a cooperation afterward, I’ll still pay you an extra fee, starting from a five-figure sum,” Song Yuan spread out her five fingers.

“That would indeed be more suitable,” Qiao Sang continued.

“Tooth?”

Inside the players’ resting room.

Wei Wenya sat on the sofa, while a blue, duck-shaped Pet Beast was doing one-handed push-ups on the ground.

“Dad, is everything you said true?”

“Of course, the prize was personally set up by your second uncle, how could he deceive you?” the man sitting on the sofa replied.

He wore his hair slicked back, dressed in a black suit, and his shoes shined to a glossy finish, lounging with one leg crossed over the other, the very image of a business elite.

“But won’t it be discovered when second aunt appraises the A-grade Water-type Evolution Stone as D-grade at the appraisal place?” Wei Wenya expressed her worries.

“Your second aunt is an experienced appraiser; no one will suspect her. Besides, she’s handling everything by herself; no one else is involved,” the man answered in an unhurried manner.

“Can’t we discuss with the organizers to swap the prizes for the first and second place? Otherwise, it would be so embarrassing to deliberately lose to a junior high graduate in front of so many people,” Wei Wenya whined.

“You have to understand that what’s important right now is not your ranking or saving face, but the future growth of your Power Duck. Once you have that Water-type Evolution Stone, I’ll find a way to get you a bottle of high-purity Bing Sheng Water.”

“Only when Power Duck evolves into a High Level Pet Beast will you have a chance to try out for the Yongda team.”

“Besides, the kid you’re up against next has beaten that Hou Xiangyu. Even if you lose, you won’t lose too much face,” the man said patiently.

“I got it,” Wei Wenya compromised.

The conversation between father and daughter didn’t affect Power Duck, which kept doing one-handed push-ups without stopping.

Ladies and gentlen! We’ve finally arrived at the final match of the Bai Xinsai! Please welco the contestants who have broken through the competition over the last few days—Wei Wenya and Qiao Sang!” the comntator said with passion.

As the background music played in the arena, Qiao Sang appeared in the Pet Beast Arena with the Fire-Toothed Dog.

The audience seats erupted in enthusiastic cheers.

“Qiao Sang! Qiao Sang!”

“Fire-Toothed Dog! Fire-Toothed Dog!”

“Qiao Sang! Qiao Sang!”

“Fire-Toothed Dog! Fire… huh?”

The cheering spectators hesitated for a mont as they saw the Fire-Toothed Dog that had entered.

Why did the sunglasses the Fire-Toothed Dog was wearing look a little different from usual?

The big screen showed the Fire-Toothed Dog with a stern face, wearing a pair of pink heart-shaped sunglasses that greatly clashed with its image.

Well, talk about a strong visual impact.

Truly worthy of being a victorious, contrarily appealing Junior Pet Beast.

So unique!

“Fire-Toothed Dog! Fire-Toothed Dog!”

On the field.

The Fire-Toothed Dog tried its best to suppress the urge to bare its teeth in a grin.

Its own Beast Tar had not lied to it.

Wearing these sunglasses, I look intimidatingly handso.

They never call

that normally.

It seed that human aesthetic standards were different from its own.

When the background music stopped, Wei Wenya clasped her hands to form a seal, and her Electrish Cat appeared on the field.

Qiao Sang was sowhat surprised.

Wei Wenya was soone who had caught her attention on the first day of the competition and had been noted in her mo.

She knew that Wei Wenya also had a Water-type Pet Beast, the Powerhead Duck.

She did not expect the opponent to not send out a Pet Beast that could counter hers attribute-wise.

Perhaps she felt it was unnecessary…

After all, aside from defense, the Electrish Cat was superior to the Fire-Toothed Dog in all other aspects.

Accompanied by the referee’s whistle, the Electrish Cat opened its mouth and let out a cry, while straightening its curled tail.

A dazzling bolt of lightning suddenly appeared from mid-air and struck towards the location of the Fire-Toothed Dog.

The Fire-Toothed Dog blurred for a mont, and quickly split into eight copies, attacking the Electrish Cat from various directions.

The two Fire-Toothed Dogs running straight ahead disappeared instantly under the lightning attack, vanishing without a trace.

The remaining six Fire-Toothed Dogs continued their assault.

As they nearly reached the Electrish Cat, all six Fire-Toothed Dogs burst into flas around their fangs, ready to pounce and bite.

“Dodge quickly!” Wei Wenya ordered swiftly.

Should it get bitten, the match could be lost in an instant.

She intended to lose, but on her own terms, not by being truly defeated.

The speed of the Electrish Cat had always been its advantage.

But the Fire-Toothed Dog was approaching it in an encircling formation.

Hearing the command from its Beast Tar, the Electrish Cat looked around montarily unsure where to dodge; hesitating, it could only attempt to leap up and out of the encirclent.

The Electrish Cat had a strong leap, and it almost made it out with that jump.

Unfortunately, one of the Fire-Toothed Dogs jumped onto the back of another, and with a powerful leap, its fla-wrapped fangs bit down on the Electrish Cat’s tail, dragging it down to the ground.

Then the other Fire-Toothed Dogs swiftly pounced on it, biting the Electrish Cat in a frenzy.

“Naughty!!!”

The Electrish Cat let out a pitiful screech.

By the ti the surrounding Fire-Toothed Dogs backed off, the Electrish Cat had already closed its eyes and fainted.

The referee was stunned for a mont.

He couldn’t believe the finals had ended so quickly.

Regaining his composure, he walked over to the Electrish Cat to check, finally assured that the match was indeed over.

“The winner is contestant Qiao Sang.”

The audience was filled with sighs.

“This is the final?”

“It wasn’t even as exciting as the semi-finals.”

“It wasn’t even as exciting as a Pet Beast Perforr’s show.”

“What was the Electrish Cat dodging at the end? Its attack power is stronger than the Fire-Toothed Dog’s, why didn’t it just use lightning to break through directly?”

Qiao Sang had the sa question.

Wei Wenya, like Hou Xiangyu, had been a contestant who had won with overwhelming force, and her skills should not be of this level.

Previously, when Wei Wenya sent out the Electrish Cat, it would finish its opponent with a single lightning strike or electric shock, without any follow-up.

Thus, Qiao Sang could not accurately judge her strength.

After competing with Hou Xiangyu, she had placed Wei Wenya’s strength on the sa level as his.

But this…

Was she throwing the match?

In the passage to the dical room of the Pet Beast Arena.

“My dear, I told you to lose on purpose, but didn’t you lose a bit too quickly?” the formally dressed man said sternly.

Wei Wenya: “…”
