Massive fissures had appeared everywhere in White Eagle City, despite it being sowhat distant from the earthquake. The situation was even worse at the epicenter.

This earthquake was more severe than anyone had imagined. The plague had arrived faster than expected, as well.

Even with White Eagle City on lockdown, it couldn’t stop the various tribes from desperately seeking the High Priest’s help.

Bai Shou had initially arranged for Beastn to lead these foreign tribesn to see the High Priest.

However, when he saw that so of the outsiders were infected with the plague, bearing pustules on their bodies, he imdiately ordered that no Beastman be allowed into White Eagle City.

He was terrified.

"Let us in, please let us in, we need to see the High Priest."

"Our tribe is dying, everyone’s dying, one after another. Let us see the High Priest, please let us et the High Priest!"

Standing at the city gates, the White Eagle Beastn said, full of fear and apprehension, "If you co in and infect us White Eagle Beastn, what then?"

"That’s right, you’re frightening. Don’t even think of infecting us."

"Go away! Go away! Hurry up and leave!"

"May the Beast God bless us, may the High Priest bless us..."

A skinny weasel Beastman stepped forward. "Brothers of White Eagle, please let us in. We are barely surviving. Seeing the High Priest is our only option."

The White Eagle Beastn imdiately shouted, "You have pustules all over you! Stay away from us!"

"The High Priest already had all the tribes inford about the earthquake and the plague. Whose fault is it if you ignored the warnings!"

"Stay away from us! Keep your distance!"

"The High Priest is White Eagle City’s High Priest! What are your intentions, wanting to see him when you’re diseased and carrying this evil miasma? Surely you’re not thinking of infecting our High Priest, are you?!"

The weasel Beastman said mournfully, "We’re exhausted and starving. We fell ill and have nowhere to rest. We just want to see the High Priest..."

"The High Priest will not see you!"

...

Bai Shou was pacing anxiously within White Eagle City.

The High Priest’s prophecies had all co true.

The plague had arrived, White Eagle City was under lockdown, and soon they would face the critical problem of food shortages.

Bai Shou paced back and forth in distress. What do we do? What do we do?

We’ll either starve to death or die from the plague.

It’s over. White Eagle City is done for!

Right at that mont, Si Yan ran over with freshly baked flatbreads and smiled at Bai Shou. "City Lord, I have a solution!"

"Si Yan?" Bai Shou walked toward her. "What are you talking about? What solution do you have?"

Si Yan’s eyes crinkled in a smile. "Baked flatbreads!"

"Baked flatbreads?"

Si Yan said, "This is a food I was inspired to make by the yellow seeds the eaglet chicks enjoy. With it, we can overco this famine."

Si Yan handed a baked flatbread to Bai Shou, who hesitated for a mont before biting into it.

Instantly, his taste buds were enveloped by the crispy crust and the tender at filling inside. His eyes widened in surprise.

"This... what is this? It’s so delicious!"

Si Yan explained, "It’s made from the yellow seeds, ground into flour for the crust, with a small amount of at inside. City Lord, I recall there’s a large patch of these seeds on the mountain behind the city. If these seeds can be turned into food, it will be enough to feed the Beastn for many als!"

Bai Shou was beside himself with excitent. "Si Yan, you’ve done a great service, a trendous service!"

"With just a small amount of at and a large quantity of seeds, we can make a flatbread. One flatbread is enough for a Beastman’s al. This way, our current supply of ga at within the city should last, we won’t need to hunt outside, and surviving the plague shouldn’t be a problem!"

Bai Shou continued with excitent, "Si Yan, can we teach everyone to make these baked flatbreads and get everyone involved?"

Si Yan smiled, her eyes curving. "Of course, we can!"

Bai Shou granted Si Yan authority, and she mobilized many White Eagle Beastn to gather wheat and make flour.

The White Eagle males learned to make the flatbreads from Si Yan, each one of them incredibly focused.

"My God, this slls so good."

"Delicious, so delicious, really tasty!"

"With this food, we can truly survive this disaster!"

The White Eagle Beastn were suddenly filled with gratitude for Si Yan.

"Truly worthy of being a child raised by the High Priest."

"Impressive, truly impressive."

Si Yan raised her hand, and a snake Beastman wiped the sweat from her brow.

She smiled at the snake Beastman.

"The flatbreads are done. Let’s take them to those in need."

The little snake Beastman nodded.

He carried a basket full of at flatbreads on his back and accompanied Si Yan to the city gate.

Inside the city gate, resting White Eagle Beastn sat on the ground, drinking water.

In their eyes, there was nothing but contempt.

"Those Beastn outside, they truly deserve it," said one male Beastman, who sowhat resembled Bai Kui.

"If they die outside, so be it! Just don’t let them bring disaster upon our White Eagle City!"

"Exactly! If not for the High Priest’s explicit order not to harm those outside, I would even want to bury them alive!"

"They should be buried alive. Right!"

"What are those things? They are living plagues! Horrible, utterly horrible!"

"They must have done sothing atrocious to offend heaven and violate morality to end up like that. If they die, they deserve it!"

"They are too scary, with all those pustules. We absolutely cannot be infected."

Fear magnified the evil in the hearts of the Beastn!

As she passed by, Si Yan heard the malicious words of the White Eagle Beastn. She furrowed her brows and, unable to listen further, said angrily, "What are you talking about!"

"Miss Si Yan."

The attitude of these White Eagle Beastn imdiately changed. They said respectfully, "Miss Si Yan, it’s too dangerous here. You shouldn’t have co."

Si Yan suppressed her anger and asked calmly, "What’s happened outside?"

The people outside the city sensed so commotion within and, though unsure of its nature, began to grow frantic.

"Let us in! We want to see the High Priest!"

"If we don’t see the High Priest, we will all die!"

"Our tribe... my family... my child still in swaddling clothes..."

"In my ho, there are young female cubs, and even my Mistress has taken ill! Please let us in, we must see the High Priest!"

The White Eagle Beastn on the city wall fiercely swung down their vines.

"Stand back! Keep quiet!"

One of the White Eagle Beastn said to Si Yan, "Miss Si Yan, as you can see, the outside is full of the plague. It’s extrely dangerous. You should go back to the High Priest."

The Beastn outside seed to hear the words ’High Priest’ and suddenly beca frenzied.

"The High Priest! They ntioned the High Priest!"

"Has the High Priest co?"

"We must see the High Priest! Only the High Priest can save us! We must see the High Priest!"

The Beastn outside, still shouting, were about to storm the city!
