Integrated Complex.

Seventeenth Floor Lecture Hall.

Qiao Sang finished deducting points and put down her phone.

She had earned 383 points during the morning assessnt. Adding the initial 100 points, she now had a total of 483. Spending 5 points didn’t feel like much of a loss.

Dr. Dosharila glanced around the students in the lecture hall and said with a kind smile: "Now, place your student IDs on the desk in front of you."

Most students had already placed their IDs on the desks, a few were only just taking them out.

Student IDs had been issued during registration. Qiao Sang had kept hers in the backpack she always carried, so it wasn’t hard to find.

Although she didn’t know why the ID was needed, she obediently took it out.

Once everyone had their student IDs out, Dr. Dosharila looked down and tapped sothing on the virtual panel embedded in the desk.

The next second, a ten-inch green virtual screen appeared above each student ID, displaying their respective information.

"Very good." Dr. Dora Lisa scanned the room again, then pressed another part of the virtual panel and said:

"Let’s begin our lesson."

As she spoke, the green screens above the student IDs vanished.

That’s it? No roll call? Qiao Sang, unable to contain her curiosity, leaned toward the girl next to her wearing black-rimd glasses and whispered: "Do teachers not do roll call?"

The girl with glasses had overheard Qiao Sang talking to two male students in the back earlier and realized she was a newcor, so she wasn’t surprised by the question.

She patiently explained: "No need for roll call. For classes like Dr. Dosharila’s, you need to spend points to attend. If the virtual screen above your student ID is green, it ans you’ve paid the points. If it’s red, you’ll be asked to leave."

Good thing I acted fast and paid just in ti... Qiao Sang felt imnsely relieved.

Dr. Dosharila spoke gently: "I’m sure you all know how important emotional energy is for pet beasts."

"We’ve conducted many experints on emotional energy and discovered that once emotional energy reaches a certain threshold, it can be converted into skills, enhance attack power, and in so cases, even trigger evolution in pet beasts."

That’s exactly like Lubao... Qiao Sang silently responded in her heart.

Dr. Dosharila continued, "Last year, Dr. Larry Ford conducted an experint on extracting happiness energy from the Smiling Cal. It was found that once its happiness energy diminished, the creature beca extrely weakened and significantly less powerful."

"For pet beasts with particularly extre personalities, emotional energy is what powers their strength."

She paused, then asked: "Is there anyone here who has a pet beast with an especially extre personality? You can summon it here, and I’ll give you a demonstration."

Extre personality? Qiao Sang had a biased view of her own pet beasts and thought all of them had pretty good temperants.

Even if Lubao acted a bit aloof, she was actually easy to deal with and gullible.

As she was thinking, the girl with glasses raised her hand: "I do!"

She ford a seal with both hands.

A green star formation lit up.

A pet beast appeared inside the formation. It had a round body, white fur, a yellow nose, droopy eyebrows, and floating dark gray hair.

It looked left and right at the humans around it with sharp eyes, wearing an expression that said, What are you staring at? You want a fight?

"Rageball." Dr. Dosharila looked at the summoned beast and smiled.

"Bring it up here."

"Go on, Big Softie." Said the girl with glasses.

Is that na ironic? Qiao Sang couldn’t help but ntally comnt.

"Raar!"

Rageball still had a fierce glare, but it didn’t hesitate to walk up.

Once it stood on stage, Dr. Dosharila placed a pre-prepared energy testing device on its head.

Numbers flickered on the display on its forehead, eventually stabilizing at 39,008.

Dr. Dosharila glanced at the screen and said:

"This Rageball currently has an energy level of 39,008."

Then she suddenly gave its head a firm slap.

"Raar!!"

Rageball snapped its head around and glared at her.

At the sa ti, the numbers on the forehead display flickered and rose to 39,377.

Its energy increased just from a slap? Qiao Sang’s eyes lit up.

The other students in the lecture hall seed quite knowledgeable about emotional energy and rely observed intently without reacting much.

Dr. Dosharila ignored Rageball’s glare and began explaining:

"Rageball relies heavily on angry emotional energy. For this species, the angrier it gets, the more energy it produces."

"Of course, provoking it like I just did only generates temporary anger. In a few minutes, it’ll return to its normal energy level."

"Still, even in that short ti, Rageball can easily learn skills like Furious Bite, Redirected Anger, and Berserk."

"Alright, take it back." Dr. Dora Lisa said.

The girl with glasses waved her hand, and Rageball vanished.

Qiao Sang noticed that Dr. Dosharila didn’t use too many technical terms. Her explanations were simple and easy to follow, even soone like her who considered herself a poor student could understand everything.

As the class neared its end, Dr. Dosharila looked around and asked: "Any questions?"

Qiao Sang imdiately raised her hand.

Dr. Dora Lisa had already taken note of the girl with the Eastern face. It wasn’t just her youthful appearance, what stood out was the red pet beast in her arms, which she didn’t recognize at all.

She had studied nearly every known pet beast across multiple planets, not just her own. It had been a long ti since she’d co across one she couldn’t identify.

"You may speak." Dr. Dosharila said with a smile.

Qiao Sang organized her thoughts and asked: "I have a pet beast that needs desperate emotional energy to evolve. I want to know, for pet beasts that evolve through emotional energy, is the required type of emotional energy fixed? Or can it be replaced with another type?"

Desperate emotional energy? Dr. Dosharila ntally reviewed the few species known to evolve through that kind of energy. Outwardly, her expression remained calm as she answered: "Each type of emotional energy produces different effects and values. We call them all ‘emotional energy’ for convenience, but if your pet beast has been confird to evolve specifically through despair, then no other type can substitute for it."

Qiao Sang felt a twinge of disappointnt, though it made sense.

After all, if despair could be replaced with sothing else, the Water Luriana species wouldn’t be so notoriously hard to evolve.

Seeing the dark-haired girl fall silent, Dr. Dosharila glanced again at the red pet beast she still couldn’t identify and smiled as she asked: "What’s the na of your pet beast that evolves through despair?"

"Ice Xilu." Qiao Sang replied.

Ice Xilu? Dr. Dosharila thought for a mont, and then her eyes widened.

Ice Xilu?!

The species that needs emotional energy throughout its entire evolution line, and is nearly extinct on Blue Star, that Ice Xilu?!
