"Xun xun!"

Little Treasure was always clever. As soon as the information from the pet beast identifier appeared, he understood what was happening.

He quickly threw away the Hamrsprout in his hands, indicating that he had just picked it up casually.

At the very mont the Hamrsprout was tossed, Qiao Sang's eyelid twitched again.

Fortunately, a purple shadow flashed by, and Gangbao steadily caught the Hamrsprout.

In truth, even low-level pet beasts had a certain level of defense, especially wild ones. Falling from trees, rolling down mountains, or being affected by stronger beings, rolling a hundred ters was not unusual.

Even if the Hamrsprout really hit the ground, it wouldn’t be a big deal. However, Gangbao knew that the Hamrwood was still angry, and it was better to avoid unnecessary trouble. She didn’t want to delay their journey ho.

"Gang gang.."

With the Hamrsprout on her back, Gangbao approached the Hamrwood and chattered away like a diator.

Just as the pet beast identifier had stated, the Hamrwood had a peaceful temperant.

Even in such an angry state, it was still willing to listen to an explanation.

"Hamr."

After Gangbao had nearly run out of saliva from talking, the Hamrwood glanced at the formidable Yabao and Lubao, then turned away with its Hamrsprout and left.

"Amazing!" Qiao Sang praised Gangbao.

Defeating the Hamrwood wouldn't have been difficult, but she worried that, just like with the Gray-Painted Sparrows, more Hamrwoods might suddenly appear, after all, this was wild pet beast territory.

She had initially planned to let Lubao use her Healing Soundwave, but unexpectedly, Gangbao resolved the issue through direct communication.

"Gang."

Gangbao humbly responded, saying that the Hamrwood was easy to talk to. The species was generally a bit timid and probably thought that if a fight broke out, it wouldn’t win anyway.

Hearing this, Qiao Sang’s eyes brightened.

She almost forgot, she didn’t know much about the pet beasts here, but Gangbao did!

With Gangbao's intelligence, she could definitely help them avoid a lot of trouble!

Imdiately, Qiao Sang thought of sothing and sternly said, "Gangbao, while leading the way, explain things to Little Treasure when he’s curious. Try to avoid letting him rely on the pet beast identifier."

"Gang Gang!"

Gangbao nodded seriously, understanding the importance of this task.

"Xun xun…"

In the back, Little Treasure pouted while listening to the conversation.

The next ten minutes of the journey went smoothly.

With Gangbaoo answering Little Treasure's questions in real-ti, they didn’t run into another Gray-Painted Sparrow or Hamrwood situation.

Though a few wild pet beasts attacked unprovoked along the way, none exceeded high-level rank. Yabao and Lubao easily dealt with them.

After traveling further, Yabao's ears twitched, and he suddenly stopped, showing a vigilant expression.

The next mont, Qiao Sang saw a pale, dense mist rising ahead, creeping in from the depths of the forest.

"Gang gang."

Gangbao flapped her wings and flew to Qiao Sang’s side, offering to scout ahead.

No way, you’re the weakest one here… Qiao Sang rejected her outright, "You might know this terrain best, but if sothing happens to you in there, it’ll be even harder for us to navigate this place."

Then, she turned to Little Treasure and asked, "How’s your energy recovery?"

"Xun xun~"

Little Treasure sensed himself and chirped, indicating he was mostly recovered.

Qiao Sang thought for a mont and said, "Little Treasure, you go scout ahead. If anything happens, teleport back imdiately."

Ghost-type pet beasts were always the top choice for reconnaissance in dramas.

Besides being able to turn invisible, Little Treasure could also teleport and use spatial shift. Since Qiao Sang could sense his status, she could recall him instantly if anything felt off, sending him was the safest option.

"Xun xun!"

Little Treasure's eyes lit up. He saluted, vowing to complete the mission before floating eagerly into the fog.

He loved exploring the unknown!

"Yap yap…"

Yabao looked envious, he wanted to go too! But rembering that he had to protect his beast master, he held back.

Lubao remained expressionless, but her eyes stayed locked on the mist, body tensed, ready to attack at any mont.

"Gang…"

Gangbao stared at the fog.

In her mory, this place had never had anything like this before…

Suddenly, her pupils dilated slightly as a realization struck.

"Gang Gang!"

She shouted loudly, but before she could explain, the slow-moving mist suddenly surged forward like an avalanche, engulfing everything.

In an instant, the entire area was nothing but white.

Gangbao felt herself being grabbed by sothing and then transported to a warm place.

"Don’t be afraid. Stay close to ."

What the hell is this…? Qiao Sang clutched Gangbao, feeling an overwhelming sense of panic but forcing herself to stay calm.

From Gangbao's earlier reaction, she knew she had been scared. As a beast master, she had to remain steady, or else her pet beasts would be affected.

She took a deep breath, steadying herself.

She had always faced opponents directly before, this was the first ti she couldn’t even see what she was up against.

Just then, a familiar and particularly comforting chanical voice sounded:

"Mistshadow Ark, Dark-type General-rank pet beast. Has the power to create illusions that affect hundreds at once. It is said that when its habitat is about to be exposed to humans, it generates illusions, making people wander endlessly in the forest."

This information couldn’t have co at a better ti! Now that she knew what they were dealing with, things would be much easier…

Little Treasure…

Qiao Sang felt a rush of gratitude and tried sensing his location, only to find she couldn’t.

She waved her hand, trying to summon him back, but without a specific location, the recall wouldn’t work.

Hmm, it must be the fog interfering. But since Little Treasure could still use the pet beast identifier, that ant he was okay…

Qiao Sang’s mind raced.

If Little Treasure could use the identifier, then he must have seen the Mistshadow Ark and was nearby.

No sounds of battle, so they hadn’t fought yet.

Does the Mistshadow Ark not attack pet beasts? Did it sense a human, , and create this mist because of that?

As she was analyzing, she suddenly turned her head.

"Xun xun!"

A mont later, Little Treasure appeared beside her, patting his chest as if frightened.

That’s not Little Treasure…

Qiao Sang’s expression hardened. She called out, "Lubao!"

"Ice Slash."

Lubao's gaze turned icy. She raised a paw, slashing down with a frigid energy.

The Little Treasure split in two and dissolved into mist.

Looks like we have to deal with this Mistshadow Ark to move forward. As long as we stay in the mist, we’ll remain trapped. But the mist must have a limit…

Qiao Sang waved her hand, recalling Lubao into the Beast Tar’s Codex, then calmly commanded, "Yabao, we’re flying up."

"Yap Yap!"
