The staff mber fell silent for a mont before picking up the identity card on the table and scanning it.
The next second, upon seeing the information on the computer screen, his mind went blank with a loud buzz. His mouth slightly opened, and his expression froze.
"Is it done?" Qiao Sang waited for a while before asking.
"Yes, yes! It's done!" The staff mber snapped back to reality, hurriedly picked up the identity card, and handed it over with both hands.
Qiao Sang took it, put it in her pocket, and walked inside.
After she left, the staff mber excitedly pulled out his phone, opened a group chat, and started typing frantically:
[Holy crap! You guys won’t believe it, but I ran into a total freak at work today!]
Qiao Sang found a seat and sat down, attentively watching the battle below.
The assessnt was still ongoing, and both sides were using beast companions she had never seen before.
It was different from both the National Campus Beast Mastering League and the E-rank Beast Tar assessnt she had previously taken.
In the National Campus Beast Mastering League, competitors could learn about their opponents and their beast companions in advance, allowing for preparation.
The E-rank Beast Tar assessnt was held in the Yuhua region, where Qiao Sang had a general understanding of the beast companions there.
But here, on Chaosu Star, the summoned beast companions were completely unknown. Forget about their traits, even their attributes might only be revealed after an exchange of blows.
Of course, Qiao Sang wasn’t worried about failing the assessnt, but being cautious was always a good thing.
At the sa ti, the people nearby gradually shifted their attention from the ongoing battle to Qiao Sang.
"What’s the deal? Is she here for the assessnt too?"
"No way, she looks way too young."
"Definitely not. She still looks like a high school student. How could she be taking the D-rank Beast Tar assessnt?"
"I heard so prodigies beco D-rank Beast Tars before even entering college."
"At the very least, they'd be in their final year of high school. Does she look like a senior to you?"
"Why are we even debating this? Just look at her, she's carrying her beast companion like a pet! Have you ever seen a professional Beast Tar do that?"
A dozen people chattered noisily, their discussions overlapping.
At that mont, a massive scorpion-like beast companion, over three ters tall, was sent flying and collapsed unconscious.
"Assessnt failed." The man on the left side of the field announced indifferently.
"Next."
The woman at the desk by the field coordinated by making so entries on the computer.
The screen displaying the participants’ information updated to the next page.
At the sa ti, a chanical electronic voice echoed through the room:
"Number 39, please step forward for your assessnt."
Qiao Sang stood up and walked to the center of the field.
The room fell into a brief silence as everyone stared in shock at the girl stepping onto the battlefield, except for the staff mber who had checked her identity at the entrance.
He was currently typing like a madman:
[The freak is taking the assessnt! The freak is taking the assessnt!]
On the field, Yabao leaped out of Qiao Sang’s arms.
The mont Qiao Sang appeared, even the experienced male examiner was taken aback.
But when his gaze landed on Yabao, his eyebrows lifted slightly. His eyes then moved to the lightweight miniaturization bracelet on its paw, and his interest was piqued.
This was a beast companion he had never seen before.
The examiner gave Qiao Sang a deep look before waving his hand to recall his previous beast companion.
He quickly ford hand seals.
In the next second, an orange-yellow star array lit up on the ground.
A towering turtle-like beast companion, over three ters tall, appeared in the field. It stood on two legs, with a predominantly deep-blue body, white eyes, a light blue abdon, and a tough shell on its back.
"I don’t recognize your beast companion."
The examiner said, "but don’t think that ans you can easily pass the assessnt."
There were countless beast companions in the world, no one could possibly recognize them all. However, most could be roughly categorized by their appearance and color.
For instance, Yabao's red markings and fla-like wings hinted at its Fire attribute.
Similarly, the blue color and shell of the turtle-like beast strongly suggested a Water attribute.
It’s a Water-type… Qiao Sang instantly made her judgnt.
So the examiner had guessed that Yabao was purely a Fire-type.
But if he knew it also had Psychic abilities, he probably wouldn’t have said that…
Qiao Sang glanced at the examiner with a complicated expression before calling out:
"Yabao."
"Yap!"
Yabao's expression turned excited. He let out a cry as his body began to enlarge, returning to his original size.
His red and white fur billowed, the fla-like wings on his shoulders intensified, and a terrifying heatwave spread outward from his body.
The scarlet flas, luxurious fur, and powerful physique, it was still the sa Yabao, just scaled up proportionally. But now, his presence was overwhelmingly oppressive, radiating an undeniable aura of nobility.
The onlookers' eyes widened in shock.
"Oh my god! I thought it was just a pet beast companion!"
"This looks way too cool!"
"I feel like its value just skyrocketed a hundredfold…"
"I’ve never heard of a beast companion like this before!"
"Just from its aura alone, the Fortress Turtle is completely outmatched!"
On the field, the Fortress Turtle eyed its opponent warily.
The chanical electronic voice rang out:
"Assessnt begins."
"Water Domain!" The examiner imdiately commanded.
A thin blue water layer coated the Fortress Turtle’s body.
At the sa ti, one-third of the battlefield turned into a deep blue water terrain.
The ground sank, water surged, and the center of the flooding area was precisely where Yabao stood!
The spectators focused on the unknown beast companion.
But instead of rushing forward or attacking, Yabao suddenly vanished from sight.
Fortunately, the battlefield wasn’t that large, and soon everyone spotted Yabao hovering in midair.
It has a Psychic attribute! The thought flashed through everyone’s minds.
The examiner also realized this, his expression turning serious.
However, before he could give another command, a brilliant crimson fla suddenly descended upon the Fortress Turtle from above.
The turtle instinctively fired a high-pressure Water Gun to counter it.
Although Water beats Fire, when the two attacks collided, the flas completely overpowered the water attack.
BOOM!
A deafening explosion erupted just two ters away from the Fortress Turtle, sending a shockwave of fire and smoke billowing across the field.
The examiner remained calm, he knew the Fortress Turtle had likely withdrawn into its shell.
Sure enough, when the smoke cleared, the Fortress Turtle was fully retracted.
The examiner was about to issue a command when his expression suddenly darkened.
Why does it look like the Fortress Turtle is in pain?
He focused on the scene and saw the turtle twisting and rolling, its shell turning faintly red.
From the audience's perspective, the whole sequence was crystal clear.
Yabao had launched two attacks.
The first was a swirling fire whirl, and the second, an invisible fla was fired during the explosion.
The heat was so intense that the air itself distorted.
"Use Water Gun on yourself!" The examiner shouted.
"Fire Fang." Qiao Sang commanded simultaneously.
Before the Fortress Turtle could react, Yabao teleported beside it and bit down ferociously with flaming fangs.
"Fort!!!"
The turtle let out a miserable scream.
The examiner's pupils contracted sharply.
Three seconds later, as the Fortress Turtle lay motionless, the chanical voice announced:
"Number 39, assessnt passed."
