Beast Tamer Era: Capturing SSS-ranks with the Strongest Taming System Chapter 119: Changes brought by Soul Force
Although Ray still had a Bronze Soul, its quality, density, and purity had reached the equivalent of a Silver Soul, making it capable of manifesting characteristics and effects normally exclusive to Silver Souls.
Silver Souls naturally produce a unique radiation that rges a thousand units of Magic Power into a single unit of Soul Force.
With his soul now producing that sa radiation, the Magic Power in his Niwan Palace began to condense rapidly into Soul Force.
A single unit of Soul Force took up the sa space in his Niwan Palace as a thousand units of Magic Power.
In total, 53.7 units of Soul Force were created.
When he started creating Soul Force, the following notifications popped up.
♦️ Soaking in your Soul Force, your Taming Seal has undergone a mutation, unlocking a new effect — evolving your skills so that they can now be powered up using Soul Force.
♦️ Fire Dragon Magic has evolved into Black Flas of Annihilation.
♦️ Azure Wind Skill has evolved into Purple Empyrean Winds.
♦️ Weapon Refining has evolved into Soul Armant Forging.
♦️ Destiny Swap has evolved into Pact of Equivalent Exchange.
♦️ Beast Taming Level 2 has evolved into Beast Taming Level 3.
Ray opened the character panel and started going through the description of each of his skill.
[Living Weapons Refinent]
Effect: Allows you to refine Living Weapons.
Living Weapons can be stored directly within the Niwan Palace. They can bask in your Soul’s radiation to grow stronger. The stronger the radiation and the longer they are exposed to it, the more powerful they can beco.
If damaged, they can be repaired by subrging them within your Soul Force.
Cost: 100 Soul Force per use.
Limitation: Can only own one Living Weapon at a ti.
Ray had a thoughtful look going on.
If he had understood it correctly, Living Weapons would grow stronger alongside him. The stronger he beca, the more powerful they would get!
"This is exactly the kind of skill soone like needs... a weapon that grows with ," he thought, lips curling slightly. "It’s honestly the best skill for ."
He just needed to make another breakthrough before he could use it. And if everything went as he expected, that wouldn’t be far away.
[Beast Taming Level 3]
Effect: Allows you to ta 1× Bronze Rank Demonic Creature and 1× Silver Rank Demonic Creature.
Cost: 50 units of Soul Force per taming attempt.
Limitation: The number of tad creatures cannot exceed the stated rank limits, and each creature must be subdued and exhausted before the seal can be placed. Otherwise the chances of it failing is high.
[Pact of Equivalent Exchange]
Effect 1: Allows you to revive yourself by offering another life in exchange. You may sacrifice anyone connected to you via a Soul Link.
Effect 2: Grants the ability to engrave the Seal of Enslavent. Anyone bearing this seal share a soul link with you where you are the dominant party.
Cost: 1,000 units of Soul Force per activation.
Limitation: The target must willingly or unwillingly bear your seal. Once used for revival, the target’s life cannot be reclaid by any known ans.
Ray’s eyes narrowed slightly. "I can work with that."
[Purple Empyrean Winds]
Effect 1: Allows you to create sharp athyst winds capable of slicing through legendary weapons like a hot knife through butter.
Effect 2: Allows you to conjure sturdy athyst winds with the weight of a mountain.
Effect 3: Enables you to form protective barriers of Empyrean Wind that can block elental and physical attacks of Silver rankers and below.
Effect 4: Enhances movent. Can be used to propel you in any direction like a cot, drastically increasing speed and maneuverability.
Effect 5: Can be used for auxiliary ans such as flying. Your imagination is the limitations.
Cost: Varies with scale.
Ray tested it out, coming to the following conclusions.
1 unit of Soul Force = 1 palm-sized Athyst Wind Blade.
10 units = 1 spear-length blade.
50 units = a volley of spear-length blades.
Ray looked at his palm where a small purple cyclone spun rapidly. "If it can even slice through a Silver Ranker’s force field..." he murmured. "Then killing Varun in a head on confrontation would just be possible."
His gaze moved towards the last description.
[Black Flas of Annihilation]
Effect 1: Summons black flas that can devour level 3 tal.
Effect 2: Any target burned by these flas cannot regenerate or heal through conventional ans. The damage is absolute.
Effect 3: Absorbs remnants of energy from whatever it consus, feeding your own reserves of magic power and Soul Force.
Cost: Varies.
Ray quickly tested it out, deepening his understanding of the skill.
It was similiar to the Purple Empyrean Winds in terms of cost, but far more destructive!
The dark fire from his new flas flickered in Ray’s eyes as he smiled.
"Going there, this will be my greatest weapon against my enemies!"
*****
When tars advanced to the Bronze Rank, their Beast Taming skill evolved to Level 2. However, advancing it to Level 3 was entirely different.
It required soaking the Taming Seal in one’s Soul Force until it mutated, altering its very structure.
For most tars, this took years to decades, and for so, even a lifeti wasn’t enough.
Soul Force was incredibly difficult to generate, after all.
To advance one’s soul to the Silver Rank, a tar needed three Level 1 Soul Crystals, four Level 2 Soul Crystals, and one Level 3 Soul Crystal, or their equivalent in heaven-and-earth treasures.
Each of these items was extraordinarily rare.
Without proper backing, you would have to risk your life countless tis just to get the required material because the drop rate of soul crystals was quite low, with only commander and king types demonic creatures dropping them with a 50% to 100% chance, respectively.
If you were lucky, you might get them faster, but the fact still stands that it would still be dangerous.
On top of that, you had to start out as at least a tar with average magic power, aning your magic power must be 10 at the initial iron rank stage. Otherwise, even after absorbing all those resources and reaching the Silver Rank, you might not produce Soul Force!
To be more specific, soul quality was the most important factor behind the production of Soul Force. If your soul quality was subpar despite reaching the silver rank, you would need to make more breakthroughs to make your soul produce the radiation necessary for the production of soul force.
Ray had accomplished what most tars could not even dream of doing in their entire lives in less than two months since becoming one.
And it all ca down to two simple yet shocking reasons.
Firstly, he had been dedicating every waking breath to growing stronger.
If he wasn’t fighting for more resources, he was creating plans to get them. If he wasn’t doing the latter, he was either doing the forr or training!
Secondly and most importantly, he had made the right call.
So far, every choice, every decision, every battle he picked had in one way or another influenced his encounter with the pair of Demonized Flying Lizards that were artificially bred by the Bloodsuckers to be more valuable than their counterparts.
When alive, they could be used for a wide variety of purposes.
When dead, their corpses were treasure troves waiting to be harvested. That was precisely why he got 2× level 2 soul crystals from killing them.
If he had fought a typical pair of such lizards, the chances of him getting two Level 2 Soul Crystals would have been less than one in fifty thousand.
The Demonized Flying Lizards bred by Bloodsuckers were inspected right after they were born to check if they possessed a Soul Crystal.
Those that didn’t were butchered like livestock and served as food—roasted, stewed, or ground into nutrient paste for the lesser Bloodsuckers, but the ones that did have Soul Crystals were handled with utmost care. They were isolated, nurtured, and conditioned for specific purposes.
Unlike humans, demonic creatures didn’t rely on Soul Crystals to grow stronger. Their growth was more primal, more instinctive, their potential bound by the limitations of their race and type. A creature’s bloodline, race, and type decided how far it could naturally evolve.
For example, a green sli might never break past Iron Rank no matter how much it consud, while a creature born with traces of draconic blood could easily reach the Silver Rank even without ever absorbing a crystal.
"In my haste, I lost big ti," Ray clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction as he finished digesting the mories he gained from using the Devour skill on the charred corpses of the two Demonized Flying Lizards he just killed.
The blood of these specially bred lizards was a priceless commodity. When refined, it could be turned into Mana-Conductive Ink, a vital material for drawing high-grade runes and inscribing magic arrays. Their scales, once properly treated, could serve as the foundation for mid-tier armor capable of deflecting both elental and physical attacks
Their other body parts also had so uses.
Basically, there was a lot to be had from their corpses.
He had managed to reap only the greatest benefit their remains had to offer because he couldn’t afford to hold back while dealing with them. Otherwise, they would have escaped.
From their charred remains, nothing worth of value besides the Level 2 Soul Crystals he had already obtained could now be extracted, making him feel like he had suffered a great loss.
