Vol 3 Chapter 103: Demon-Hunting Squad
Not long after, the Beast Taming Sect cultivators from the Ancient Celestial Kingdom arrived at the Demon Court.
During this ti, Lin Jing was searching for a new Cave Dwelling of his own. He planned to help the Ice Soul Gu break through once he settled down.
Now that his identity as the Holy Son of the Demon Court was officially public, it obviously wouldn’t do for him to keep freeloading at Senior Sister’s place. It was ti to establish his own team.
And for that, he needed a territory that was entirely his.
The Tongtian City battle had brought Lin Jing trendous gains.
Nine Void Mystical Stage experts, dozens of Nascent Soul Transformation cultivators, and hundreds of Nascent Soul Stage beings had perished in Tongtian City. All the magical artifacts, pills, and treasures they carried had ended up in Lin Jing’s hands.
Even with just a rough glance, Lin Jing could tell: while these weren’t the entirety of those cultivators’ and beasts’ assets, it was more than enough to support one or two talented cultivators to reach the Void Mystical Stage.
For soone like him—whose “talent wasn’t great”—even if he couldn’t reach Void Mystical, making it to Nascent Soul Transformation Stage wouldn’t be too difficult.
So now, all he had to do was take his ti digesting these resources. And once he did, he’d definitely surpass any previous Longevity Body.
Even just a portion of these resources was enough to help Lin Jing raise a team of absolute loyalists.
The Demon-Hunting Squad.
The Dragon Carp’s Monster Core Divine Ability required a steady supply of living creatures for alchemical refinent. Lin Jing himself wouldn’t have the ti to catch all those beasts, so a personal force beca essential.
Instead of relying on outsiders, it was better to train his own squad—one that would remain loyal even if he turned against the Demon Court.
The first person he picked was Gu Qianqiu, the Longevity Girl.
“Mid Core Formation… not bad.”
He arrived at Gu Qianqiu’s cultivation spot.
“Still too slow,” Gu Qianqiu glanced at Lin Jing and shook her head. “Not sure if I can reach Nascent Soul within the ti limit…”
“There’s a lot of chaos outside lately. Did sothing happen?” she asked.
“Yeah, the Beast Taming Sect disciples from the Ancient Kingdom have co to join us.”
Gu Qianqiu nodded slightly. Lin Jing continued, “I’ll be leaving here soon. Want to co with ?”
“Alright.” Gu Qianqiu was surprised, then added, “Honestly, I haven’t wanted to stay in the Demon Court for a long ti.”
Lin Jing cleared his throat awkwardly. “I’m not leaving the Demon Court—just leaving the Third Holy Maiden’s territory. Not long ago, the Demon Emperor nad the Holy Son of the Demon Court, so I’m planning to find a new domain of my own.”
Gu Qianqiu: “…”
“Holy Son of the Demon Court???” She looked baffled. Xu Qingyao had beco Holy Maiden because of her half-demon bloodline—so what about Lin Jing?
“…You’re half-demon too?”
She had always thought there was sothing… inhuman about his potential.
Due to her constant cultivation, Gu Qianqiu hadn’t kept up with external news.
Bang.
Lin Jing pulled the Sky Lion Ancestor’s head from his storage bag and tossed it on the ground.
Gu Qianqiu’s pupils shrank.
“I invented the Beast Transformation Technique, earning the Demon Emperor’s trust and the title of Holy Son. Not long ago, the Demon Emperor personally helped settle all my past enemies—this one included.”
“Your greatest enemy has fallen. What will you do now?”
Staring at the Sky Lion Ancestor’s head, Gu Qianqiu looked dazed.
“This really happened…”
She had never imagined the Sky Lion Clan, who imprisoned her for a thousand years, would one day fall.
Her expression shifted several tis. She wanted to cry—but after a millennium of being treated as blood food, she had already lost the ability to shed tears.
After calming her emotions, Gu Qianqiu spoke slowly.
“I once said, when the Sky Lion Clan was destroyed, my life would be yours…”
“Didn’t you say you wanted to build a Demon-Hunting Squad to refine violent beasts into pills… Let help you.” She looked calmly at Lin Jing.
Lin Jing smiled slightly. “I was waiting for that. From today on, you’re the captain of the Demon-Hunting Squad. But until you reach Nascent Soul, you won’t be participating in the actual hunts.”
“Soone else will take care of that.”
“Soone else?”
“Yeah. Let’s go. The Holy Son’s new territory will have even better cultivation conditions than this place. Our next stop is to recruit the squad’s vice-captain—the Fourth Holy Maiden of the Demon Court, and the first demon to ever be born in this world.”
Soon after—
Lin Jing took Gu Qianqiu to Mosquito Valley. There, the Mosquito Woman and her army of ten billion Mosquito Beasts were already waiting.
“Greetings, Your Highness the Holy Son.” The Mosquito Woman knelt, respectfully facing Lin Jing. Gu Qianqiu looked at the massive mosquito army and felt a wave of awe ripple inside her.
“I’ll be leaving soon. From now on, all of you will follow to a new ho,” Lin Jing said.
The Mosquito Woman and her swarm—controlled via the Seven-Star Beast God Circle—were the second force he planned to bring under his command.
The Mosquito Woman had originally submitted due to the Demon Emperor’s power, agreeing to serve as Lin Jing’s maid. But now that her spiritual intelligence had awakened, she’d slowly develop independent thoughts.
Submitting to the Demon Emperor was out of fear. But moving forward, Lin Jing needed her loyalty to be genuine.
“In the future, you’ll serve as vice-captain of the Demon-Hunting Squad. Do well, and I’ll reward you.” He tossed her a formation flag. “This is a high-grade artifact that can work with your cultivation thod. It’s also a storage-type tool, filled with blood from various Nascent Soul-level Demon Kings for your training.”
“Do well, and there will be more—like Demon Emperor blood, or even Demon Ancestor blood.”
“And this here is the squad’s captain, Gu Qianqiu. When I’m not around, follow her orders.”
The Mosquito Woman accepted the flag with delight.
This was one of Lin Jing’s spoils of war—useless to him, but perfect for her.
She now cultivated a Demon Court technique, originally developed by an ancient demon strategist—one specializing in battle formations. The technique, Demon Formation Diagram, allowed her to enhance the power of her mosquito army. It was a perfect match for her leadership role.
“As you command, Holy Son.” The Mosquito Woman was ecstatic. Inside the flag were countless amounts of Nascent Soul Demon King blood—more than enough for her to break through to Nascent Soul herself.
Using this harvested blood to train the Mosquito Beast Army and the Mosquito Woman was ideal.
But after receiving the reward, she instinctively glanced at Gu Qianqiu, a flicker of dissatisfaction in her eyes. This woman wasn’t stronger than her—other than slling inexplicably delicious and making her want a taste—so why should she be giving the orders?
“I’ll show him… I’ll catch the most beasts and make the Holy Son na the captain…”
Right now, all the clans of the Demon Court were scrambling to hunt beasts. Their targets were the powerful demonic beast tribes that had plotted against Lin Jing. But even with the Demon Court’s strength, so always slipped through the cracks—making this the perfect ti to hunt.
And the Mosquito Beast Army? Ideal for the job.
After dealing with the Mosquito Woman, Lin Jing returned once more to Senior Sister’s palace, packed up his final belongings…
Including one last thing:
A little boy with four white mice perched on his shoulders.
They were Mouse Children, experintal white mice used for testing the Transformation Pill.
Lin Jing didn’t expect them to catch beasts—their strength was far too low—but their abilities were perfect for planting trees and enriching spiritual energy in his new domain.
“Holy Son…”
“Let’s go.” Lin Jing said.
