VALENCIA’S POV
I looked at him wide-eyed. His dark hazel eyes captivated for a second, captivating in a way where I wanted to be lost in them.
However, my fast-beating heart and the heat creeping up my cheeks and neck brought out of my daze.
Was he seriously saying those words right when Aiden was standing here?
"Have you lost your mind?" I hissed at him, smacking his hand away before standing straight and smiling at Aiden.
"Co, sit. I will handle it. Don’t worry," I comforted him, and he looked at as if he was annoyed that I was coaxing him like a child.
"Sit here," Aiden held my hand and pulled onto the two-seater sofa as I was about to take a seat beside Shadow.
Shadow looked at with raised brows, but luckily, he didn’t say anything.
It wasn’t long before the dean walked out of his kitchen, his brows furrowed when he looked at and Aiden, and I gave him a tight-lipped smile.
"Well, I definitely didn’t expect you two. What is it all about?" Dean asked, and I bit my bottom lip, unsure how to answer that question.
"I heard your conversation in the corridor today and thought it wasn’t polite of her. That’s why I asked her to co here and apologize in front of . Aiden happened to be with her and tagged along," Shadow said, and I looked at him, grateful for real because I wasn’t able to co up with any lie that was fitting enough.
The dean looked at with a smile before walking to and ruffling my hair, making scowl.
"I am not mad at her, Mr. Shadow. You probably don’t know much about her. But I do. She is a good-hearted girl. Just a little naughty and can’t keep words in her heart for heaven’s sake. But one of the kindest I have seen.
Her words don’t affect that much. To she is like my own daughter," The dean said.
Hearing him say these words I was almost about to feel guilty but then again, if he considers his daughter, he should be prepared for the ssage I bring in too, right?
’Seriously, you will just find anything to tackle your imagination, no?’ Aurora said, and I scowled at her.
"I am sorry for earlier. Even if you consider as your daughter, it was wrong of ," I stood and bowed to the dean.
"Stupid girl. I just want you to lead a good life. I know you have had your struggles, I saw you sitting alone, and - well, that doesn’t matter. All I want to say is that, stop being so mischievous all the ti. Study well and make yourself proud," The dean said.
"Since you guys are already here and I can’t go anywhere now, would you like to eat sothing?" The dean asked us, and I looked at Aiden, who shook his head.
"I will have noodles, spring rolls, and a half plate of white sauce pasta and a cold coffee," I said, beaming at the dean who just shook his head at while Aiden looked at dumbfounded.
’Rember the ti when I said you can sell your soul for food? Well this is what I talked about,’ Aurora complained again, and I sighed.
I didn’t say anything to her. I was more focused on the man to my left side who was watching , and I cleared my throat.
"Will you be joining us, Mr. Shadow?" The dean asked.
"Sure, why not?" Shadow said, and I could see from the expression on the Dean’s face that he wasn’t expecting that at all.
Feeling the phone vibrating in my pocket, I pulled it out and checked the ssage from Carl.
"Where are you? Will you be late?"
The ssage said, and I realized I forgot to tell him about my whereabouts.
"I will be back by 10. I am at my Dean’s house. Don’t worry. I am not alone," I quickly added the last sentence before hitting send.
With a sigh, I was about to stuff my phone back in my pocket when I saw the notification of a new ssage.
It was from the sa private number.
"Is that so? If you will be wearing a skirt, ensure to not wear anything underneath it. The view would be even more marvelous," The ssage said, and I felt my ears flare up imdiately.
What the hell was wrong with this man?
I wanted to reply to him imdiately, but chose against it, not wanting anyone in the room to even get a peak at what this person was talking about.
"Can you order on our behalf? Choose the mode of paynt at the ti of delivery," The dean said, and I stood from my place to grab the pamphlet from his hand.
I was about to return to my seat when my foot got entangled in the carpet, and I stumbled, flailing my hand around to grab onto sothing.
Shadow quickly held my hand, but it was too late because in the next mont, I ended up on top of him and he looked at with raised brows when I noticed how ambiguous and intimate our position was.
"I think I can get used to this. I guess saving you had more benefits than I had imagined," he winked at , and I gritted my teeth at his insinuation of what happened.
I was about to stand when Aiden held my elbow and helped stand, making dust my outfit to even it before I thanked Aiden, who for so reason was glaring at Shadow.
"Are you sure you don’t want to eat anything?" I asked Aiden, who then proceeded to glare at .
"Must you eat here? We should’ve left imdiately," Aiden said and I sighed.
"Do you want to leave? We can leave imdiately. You don’t have to force yourself to stay for ," I smiled at him before placing the pamphlet down on the table.
"Are you guys leaving already?" The dean walked back, and I smiled at him.
"We will enjoy the al next ti, sir. Thank you for asking. My relative has arrived at ho and they urge to co back soon," I cooked up a lie, not daring to et Shadow’s gaze because I knew there would be nothing but warning in them.
After exchanging pleasantries, we left quickly, and Aiden held my hand before tightening his hold.
"This is the first ti you ignored free food," he said, and I chuckled at his choice of words.
"Seriously, you act like I love nothing more than food. You are important to ," I said.
As we stepped forward I felt soone staring at , and I instinctively looked at the balcony of the Dean’s apartnt, Shadow’s presence with that signature smirk of his making my heart thump loudly.
I just hope he doesn’t hold it against .
