VALENCIA’S POV
Around seven won walked into the room where we were sitting at once. Maverick asked them to bring the fallen angels, and all of them looked at Maverick before nodding at him.
"The beast alpha," They said in unison before turning their heads to .
"Valencia," I said before they could call the cursed child like their subordinate did, and they smiled.
"Of course, the daughter of the infamous Luna Avantika," One of them said as she walked forward and extended her hand for to shake.
"I am Claudia," She said, and I raised my eyebrows.
Claudia. Why does it feel like I have heard of this na?
’If anyone can tell you more about Eidolon, then it’s Claudia,’ Alina had once ntioned to when I didn’t know she was a witch, and she had guessed that the nightmares I have about were related to a demon called Eidolon.
What were the chances she was the sa Claudia Alina had ntioned?
I extended my hand and shook hers before asking them about the weapon.
As much as I wanted to know more about the kind of dreams I have, I didn’t want to pressure my brain with more knowledge.
The little amount I knew was enough traumatizing. I didn’t want to put more on my plate than I could handle.
"Quite straightforward, I see," Claudia said.
"We are not here to waste ti," Maverick said in my defense and Claudia smiled.
"Of course," she said before clapping her hands.
As soon as she did that, so n walked into the room with a large coffin-like box, and I curled my brows.
’What could it be?’ I asked Maverick through the mind-link, and he looked at instinctively.
’Let’s see,’ he comnted.
Claudia raised her hand, and the table inside the room was cleared as the n placed the box on what looked like a large granite slab, which replaced the wooden table from earlier.
"Open it," Claudia said to .
"Why should I? You could’ve hidden a serpent inside it for all I know," I said, and the lady chuckled.
"Damn, you indeed have the sa zeal as your mother. Quite calculative and cautious all the ti," she said before stepping ahead and raising the coffin lid with her powers.
To say I was surprised would be an understatent.
Inside the box was a large bow, almost human-sized, and I gasped at the size.
"You have got to be kidding ," I said.
They don’t expect to use this to kill the devil, right?
Heck, my entire energy would be used in lifting it, let alone using it to kill that monster who was around 100 tis stronger than .
"No one is kidding you. This is indeed the weapon designed for you from the bones of none other than our ancestor fallen angels," Claudia said.
I know this held too many emotions for them. After all, their cultural emotions were attached to it, but this was insane.
"What about the arrows?" I asked, after calming my nerves.
Well, I’ll see what I can do once I am sure about whether I’ll stay alive to kill the devil.
"Before showing you the arrows, we want to see if you can even shoot an arrow," Claudia asked.
I scoffed. One more test?
"Sure. Bring the bow and arrow," I said.
They smirked at .
"Lift this bow. We will give you regular arrows for now," Claudia said.
I was about to deny them when Maverick placed his hand on my shoulder and squeezed comfortingly.
"I trust you," he said.
When I looked into his eyes, seeing his pure faith in , I couldn’t help but grit my teeth.
"We can do it," Aurora said, and I pressed my lips thinly.
"Is that so?" I roared before stepping ahead.
I went to grab the bow from the center, taking a deep breath.
’If you end up making a fool out of , I will see to it that you don’t get to transform for a month,’ I said to Aurora, who humd, her confidence confusing .
I soothed myself before closing my eyes montarily and making up my mind.
Placing my hand on the center of the bow, I felt a weird energy surge inside as soon as my fingertips ca in contact with the bow’s material.
I raised the bow, finding it quite heavy and hard.
But it was only for a second before I lifted the bow high like it weighed nothing.
I raised my brows in disbelief.
They said it was made of bones. I was not supposed to feel this light in my hands.
"It was indeed made for you. No one has been able to lift it since it was ford and placed in that magical box,"
Claudia said that a man had brought a tray that contained regular arrows.
I lifted one of the arrows and positioned it.
"Where should I shoot it?" I asked, just in case this bow held so magical properties. I didn’t want to hurt anyone.
"On the wall," Claudia said casually.
’She is going to regret it,’ Aurora comnted right before I shot the arrow.
The arrow hit the wall and fell.
I curled my brows at Aurora. What was there to regret?
"It didn’t even pierce the wall. Very well, it looks like you still haven’t mastered the art of archery–" Claudia started but paused when we all heard a cracking sound.
The cracking sound increased, and before anyone could make a sound, the wall crumbled after a few seconds, and I stood there, amazed.
"So?" I asked Claudia, who nodded before clapping.
I placed the bow back into the box nonetheless, not wanting to use up more of my energy on the stuff that ant nothing.
"Where are the arrows? If that’s all, we want to leave," Maverick said.
Claudia asked soone to bring the arrows and I was about to touch them when she stopped .
"I don’t think you should take them away. The devil’s subordinate has been trying to covet the bow and arrow for years. We have kept this safe for you and will keep it for you until you need it," Claudia said.
Her words made sense.
It wasn’t like I was going to use the weapon today itself.
The devil and his subordinates have indeed been trying to find ways to disturb with their presence.
If they found that I had brought the weapon, they would do anything to get hold of it and destroy it.
It will put Maverick’s and his pack mbers’ lives in danger too.
They haven’t been able to touch the weapon for so many years under the safety and jurisdiction of the fallen angels. It was better to leave it here.
I looked at Maverick, and as if he had the sa thought as , he nodded, and we decided to leave the place.
"By the way–" said one of the fallen angels who had been silent since earlier, and we looked at her.
"I don’t know if it’s my place to warn you, but your love will be tested soon, and you will be asked to choose between love and life. Make that decision carefully," the fallen angel said to .
I looked at her for a few seconds, hoping she would explain her words, but when she didn’t, I nodded at her.
"I will keep that in mind," I said before holding Maverick’s hand, which led out of the place.
Happy, who had gone God knows where returned and started flying with us as we returned to the downhill.
"The least they could do was use their magic to send us down," I complained and Maverick chuckled.
"Who was the one enjoying the view earlier? Now that your work is done, you want to reach ho so soon?" Maverick teased, and I pushed him playfully, making him chuckle.
