MAVERICK’S POV
"Valencia! Valencia!" I called her na loudly to see where she went.
I also tried calling her using the mind link, but she was nowhere to be found.
A little wariness started to settle in my heart. She was so tiny. What if soone abducted her? No one would even be able to see her.
I don’t know how many people know about her secret of being a cat. After checking everywhere thoroughly, my hands started to turn sweaty as I walked out of the house.
I walked to the little pond, wondering if she had returned despite my telling her no to co here because of the damp soil and how she had soiled her fur.
These days, because of her healing period, she has slept in the most weird places.
’Could it be that soone took her? I an, she is so cute. People are bound to feel infatuated,’ Reaper said, and I glared at him.
I was already anxious, and he only added more to my plate.
’Can you think positive for once?’ I asked him.
He fidgeted before humming.
’I am just saying I will kill everyone suspicious in the way if that’s the truth. She is mine and only mine,’ Reaper said firmly.
Though he was worried, I could see the alpha’s power taking over, and I sighed.
As I turned around the corner, I bumped into Lovely, the girl who was supposed to care for my Luna, the cat, for the ti being.
"I am sorry, Alpha. I wasn’t looking," Lovely muttered. She was about to leave when I stopped her.
"Where is she? I told you to look for my cat, didn’t I?" I asked, not ready to hear any excuses this ti.
She ssed up last ti, but I let go of it because Valencia didn’t want to be harsh on her.
"That...." Lovely looked at , amused, and I scowled.
Why was she smiling?
"What?" I asked.
"Sir, she is in the training grounds, and it’s better if you see for yourself," she said before chuckling and leaving.
I rushed to the training grounds to see what was happening, and saying I was surprised would be an understatent.
In the middle of the field was my woman, I an, my cat, fighting with my people.
I looked at all my soldiers in their wolf forms and circled around my woman with fearful gazes.
What was going on here?
I stepped forward when I saw Liam’s wolf sliding in shock and fear as he hid behind Shadow’s wolf that whimpered.
I raised my brows.
Were they seriously scared of a cute cat? They were fucking wolves, for screaming out loud.
Rather than walking to them, I stepped aside to see what was happening.
She was just a tiny cat. There was no way these people were scared of her. Could it be because she was my cat, and I have ntioned that Luna loved her?
That could be the only plausible explanation.
I watched as Greta’s wolf pounced near her, and Valencia surprisingly jumped in the air at the sa ti, landing on its back before she bit him, and I must say, she bit him hard.
"Owwww!" Greta’s wolf growled in pain.
Greta’s mate, who wasn’t that far away, imdiately rushed forward to take down my cat, and I stood from my place.
Valencia has hurt Greta. It was natural his mate wouldn’t leave her unscathed.
However, to my surprise, before Sara could even catch hold of her, Valencia dodged her attack and got on the tree.
She smirked from the branch, looking at all the wolves with a high and mighty expression.
She was really having fun even in this form.
I looked at my people, who were adorned by various scratches and bite marks here and there, and couldn’t help but chuckle at her.
She pounced on Shadow’s wolf, and I laughed out loud when his wolf almost fell on his back in fear. He whispered with his tail between his legs before running away.
"What is going on here?" I raised my voice, and everyone turned to .
Having fun earlier, Valencia blinked innocently and walked to before rubbing her head on my feet.
"Were you guys bullying Luna’s cat?" I asked.
Everyone looked at , horrified, and I looked down at my baby cat.
"Were you bullied?" I asked her.
Valencia pouted softly before extending her paws towards as I lifted her.
"Does it hurt here?" I asked, and the cat nodded, making chuckle.
If I hadn’t seen what she was doing earlier, how she was busy provoking my people and then bullying them, even in her petite form, I would’ve surely believed her.
Now I know how she managed to get on the trouble list from all those alphas a few months ago when we heard about a cat stealing food and acting mischievously.
She is indeed capable of doing much more, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she beat a few rogues like this.
"Why did you bully her?" I still asked my people, who looked at with a wronged expression. I told them I knew they did not through the mind link before looking down at my cat.
I blew on her paws softly.
"There. There. It would be alright. Let’s go and bath you. You got dirty for the third ti today," I said, and Valencia nodded before collecting herself in a ball shape as I carried her inside.
After bathing her, I fed her so healthy food before giving her spicy food to satisfy her craving.
"Now sleep," I told her, knowing she would run out again if she didn’t.
She looked at with innocent bluish-gray eyes as if she was thinking deeply.
"What are you thinking about?" I asked.
’How did I end up with such a caring and understanding man? I must have done so good deed to have gotten you. I love you, Maverick,’ Valencia used her mind-link to communicate.
I smiled at her and caressed her head before sighing.
’Don’t you get it, baby? I am doing everything in my power to manipulate how you feel about , so I am the only thing on your mind. Do you find it attractive?’ I asked before telling her soft nothings to help her calm and sleep soundly.
Stupid girl.
How can I explain that she isn’t the lucky one here? Am I the lucky one? I am fortunate to have her, and I fucking love her so much that I will die for her any mont without having any kind of regrets.
Kissing her forehead softly, I stood from my place before turning off the lamp and covering her with the little quilt that I asked one of the ladies in the pack to build for her.
She looked really cute in her mini quilt and bed on our king-sized bed. I wonder what our babies would look like in our king-sized bed.
Even the thought heated my ears, and I sighed to control my thoughts.
I didn’t want these thoughts to leak into Valencia’s mind and have her wake up again.
Without making much noise, I walked out of the room before changing my t-shirt, which was damp from holding her even when she was wet.
She has a habit of clinging to right after bathing, and she doesn’t allow to dry her fur before doing that.
The urge to keep showering her with kisses was so primal that I soothed my heart by holding her close as she blinked at innocently.
Once done with changing, I walked to the office building where my team was already gathered.
I looked at the various scratch marks on my people’s faces along with their arms and couldn’t help but chuckle as I rembered Liam’s and Shadow’s wolf running away from my cat.
"Alpha, please don’t tease us," Shadow groaned, and I chuckled even louder.
"Can you expect anything less from ? You guys know I saw it all, right?" I asked, and they nodded, their ears red from embarrassnt.
"Fine. I will stop now. Let’s talk about other important matters. Have you given the details of the arrangents Hazel Moon pack needs to make since we will visit them in two days?" I asked Shadow, who nodded his head.
"If you don’t mind, Alpha, what have you and Luna decided about the pack? Our Luna is not thinking about leaving us, right? Everyone is anxious about this, and the ladies in the pack have repeatedly expressed concern. We don’t want her to go. She is our Luna," Liam said.
I looked at my people growing more possessive of my woman and couldn’t help but feel more proud of Valencia. She has indeed made her way into their hearts swiftly.
"We have indeed co up with a plan. You don’t need to worry about it. She won’t leave. She is mine, my wife, my love, my Luna, and like a mother to you," I said, everyone imdiately smiling and nodding at my words.
