VALENCIA’S POV
I knew what Aurora was trying to tell . As much as this story differed from mine, it was strangely similar.
She didn’t tell this story out of the blue because she was bored and wanted to calm . Instead, this story was supposed to be a warning.
When I was in the forest to et Aiden and found out about the skinwalkers, I had taken that split decision to deal with the issue myself because I was afraid the skinwalkers would go and harm the public.
In honesty, those skinwalkers were probably never going to harm anyone else. They were there for . And while wanting to fight them, I had accidentally allowed my body to feel that imasurable power, which was the starting point of my destruction.
Drawn to the power that skinwalkers radiate, I even forgot why I had decided to ban myself from any kind of blood and flesh, even when I was a werewolf, which was our pri source of nutrition and power.
Apart from Maverick’s blood, I hardly allowed myself to drink any blood, but in that mont, I lost control, and things turned out severe.
Now that I heard the story, I couldn’t even imagine how hard it must’ve been for Aurora to control herself and stop my transformation.
She was trying to tell that I can’t always be good to everyone. There will be tis when I must choose my safety, too. The day before yesterday was probably that kind of day. I should’ve chosen the soldiers to deal with those skinwalkers.
It also ant that I could’ve lost my life. I can’t even wonder how helpless Maverick must’ve felt in that mont when he tried to help .
My wishfulness put everything at risk, including all their preparations.
I looked at Aurora and muttered a quick apology.
"It’s not your fault, Valencia. As I said, none of this is your fault. It’s been ten months from the ti you should’ve transford and probably lost your life. You are excellently controlling everything, and I am proud of you. It’s just... I don’t know. This is the first ti I have gotten to live for so long, and I feel scared that we would —" Aurora averted her gaze.
She didn’t need to complete that sentence. I understood what she was trying to say.
I took a deep breath before promising Aurora that from now on, I would try my best not to act like the heroine of so movie and keep my emotions in check.
"By the way, till when will I stay like this? A cat, I an," I asked sheepishly, and she smiled at cunningly.
"You will stay like this until I recuperate, so you better take care of your body and health in the anti. The slower the healing, the longer you will stay a cat," she said.
I looked at the wounds on her body and shook my head, perplexed.
"You have gotta be kidding . These wounds look like they will take an entire week to heal," I nearly raised my voice at her, and in return, she shrugged at .
"Well, you stay a cat for a week then," Aurora said before she laid back in the headspace and closed her eyes, probably dozing off.
I gritted my teeth, specifically my canines, as I glared at the fake wolf before . She was ssing with .
How was I supposed to do all the work in this form?
With a groan, I flailed my legs helplessly, looking at Maverick standing at so distance, talking to soone over the call.
"Sir, should we take the cat outside? I think she is feeling uncomfortable here," Charlotte said. Charlotte walked close to , and I pressed my lips into a thin line.
I swear if she dared to touch , I would scratch her hands.
Maverick turned to and chuckled.
"That’s Luna’s favorite cat. She doesn’t like anyone touching her. I would suggest you leave her alone if you don’t want to face the wrath of your Luna or the cat," Maverick said, looking into my eyes with mild amusent as he said the last part, and I scoffed inwardly.
’You enjoy your ti of life, Alpha Maverick, I will avenge everything when I return to my human form,’ I said through the mind link.

I saw his eyes turning dark, the desire evident in his hot gaze, and I couldn’t help but curl into a ball, facing away from him as I sat down.
It was better that I treat these seven days as a treat and that I take a much-needed vacation and sleep instead. I nodded at myself and was about to drift off to sleep when my phone rang at so distance.
My ears perked up, and I padded to the table before jumping on it to see who was calling.
It was Theo’s call.
With a sigh, I used my paw to swipe up the answer button.
However, as soon as I hit the answer and heard his voice, I realized I couldn’t talk to him in my cat voice, sothing I had forgotten about.
"Hello?" I heard Theo’s voice again and was about to end the call when soone picked up the phone. I looked up at Maverick, who had a helpless smile on his face, and I pouted, looking up at him.
Since he was almost leaning forward on the table, I could see his crotch, which looked enormously big right before , and mischief clouded my mind.
I stepped forward and stood on my hind limbs, placing my paws on his crotch, making it look like I was trying to stand. Maverick looked down with a chuckle.
"You can’t control your naughtiness even when you are like this," He comnted while I blinked at him innocently.
’I am just thanking you for helping ,’ I said throughout the mind link, and Maverick licked his bottom lip.
’Well, I have other ways in mind you can thank with,’ He said, and I blushed inwardly.
"Hello," Maverick said before telling Theo he was my man.
I could feel Theo’s hesitation through the silence and asked Maverick to tell him it was okay to talk, and I couldn’t speak because I ate sothing wrong that I experinted on and ended up not being able to talk for so ti.
Given how randomly I put herbs in my mouth to test them, it wasn’t a lie that was hard to believe. Just like I had guessed, Theo indeed started speaking.
