THIRD PERSON’S POV
"Who are you?" Alpha Tyler knitted his brows as he looked at the woman before him. Though she looked beautiful and radiated approachable vibes, her dressing style made her look equally mysterious.
She was dressed in black from head to toe, with a black hooded cloak. As if that wasn’t enough, a veil covered her face, and her hands were gloved.
"Who I am shouldn’t concern you. What should concern you is why I am here," The woman said.
Tyler didn’t say anything and rolled his eyes.
He knew better than to talk to a random she-wolf who he didn’t even know held what kind of intentions.
The world was full of evil people, and he didn’t want to fall prey to one of them.
Seeing the man walking away, the lady, who was still hiding half of her body behind the tree, stepped out completely and took a deep breath.
"And here I thought you were passionate about getting Valencia," The woman said.
Her words made Tyler stop dead in his tracks.
He turned to her again and asked her what she ant by that statent. The lady smiled when she finally had Tyler’s attention.
"I ant exactly what I said. Valencia is currently with Alpha Maverick. This is an unfortunate situation for both of us because you want Valencia, and I want Alpha Maverick. She is a hindrance in my life, just like Maverick is a hindrance for you," the lady explained.
She paused for Tyler to digest the information, and once she was sure he understood her words, she told him what she actually wanted him to do.
Tyler raised his brows but didn’t say anything because he liked the plan, too.
After listening to the entire plan, Tyler nodded at the lady.
"How can I trust you that you won’t betray at the last mont?" Tyler asked.
The lady smiled.
"This deal is based on trust only. Things will turn out like you will get to see Valencia alone. I will have soone drug her drink. That will be your only chance. If you can make use of that chance, then okay, or it will be useless. You don’t lose anything either way," The lady explained.
Tyler nodded at the lady, and after discussing a few more things, Tyler and the lady parted ways.
After walking at so distance, the lady pulled out the phone from her pocket and dialed her boss’s number.
"He agreed, sir. I think we can go ahead with our plans. Once Valencia is out of our way, we will be able to do things much better. His pain will be our victory," the lady said.
The man on the other side humd.
"It’s great news. I will tell the man who wants to see Maverick dead so badly. By the way, have you heard anything from the 4.0 head base? No one has been picking up," the man asked.
"No, sir. However, I have the number of one of the people working near there. I will ask them. Also, sir, don’t forget to ntion my na to the boss," The lady said, wanting so good appreciation and recognition this ti.
It was challenging for her to rise to where she was. It took her great sacrifices and resilience to fight alongside the n in her team and surpass them.
She planned to reach the top and let the world know that she was capable of power, too.
A sly smile appeared on her face when she pulled out the compass her father had given her before dying and taking a promise from her, the promise she had been living for.
In one of the hotels near the city, where the council chambers were, a man was lying on the couch with his eyes closed as he thought about what was happening around him.
"Sir, what orders do you have for us?" the leader’s right-hand man asked after so ti.
For the last twenty minutes, he had been sitting before him, waiting for his leader’s orders, but the leader hadn’t said anything.
"Tell , Vincent, what should I do for the girl to recognize ?" the leader asked. The right-hand man imdiately knew what girl his leader was talking about and cleared his throat.
He asked his leader what he had done so far. When he heard that his leader had been making his presence known in his wolf form and writing all those things, he pressed his lips into a thin line.
It was tough for him to control his smile and laughter.
When the leader didn’t hear Vincent’s response, he scrunched and opened his eyes, looking at his man, who was barely controlling his smile, before rolling his eyes.
"Great, now you want to laugh at too. Go ahead. What is stopping you? Go ahead and laugh at ," the leader said, knowing his man didn’t an anything bad.
Vincent chuckled before placing his hand over his mouth.
He was about to speak when the leader’s left-hand man entered the room.
"What’s so funny?" Alok asked.
Vincent told Alok what was happening, and a loud roar of laughter left the latter’s mouth.
Seeing Alok laughing so loudly, the leader pressed his lips into a thin line.
He only allowed them to smile a little; what was this atrocious laughing?
"If you guys are done making fun of your boss, can you tell what I should be doing so that she recognizes ?" the leader asked.
The two n sobered up before clearing their throats.
"Sir, I really thought you were intelligent, and nothing could go past you, but I can see you have your monts of stupidity too," Alok said, and Vincent kicked his leg to tell him to control his words.
The leader narrowed his eyes at the man but didn’t say anything in return.
"I an, sir, you clearly told us that you t her in your human form. And that was only for like 15 minutes. How can you expect her to recognize you in your wolf form? She has been living a rogue life and has probably t more than 300 rogues in these nine months. How can you expect her to recognize you with your rogue scent, either?" Alok asked.
The leader pondered over his words and nodded.
Right. Why didn’t he think about it like that? With Valencia’s heart of gold, she probably saved many lives and gave hope to many rogues, and it was hard for her to rember which one he was.
But wait. Why was she giving hope and love to many people?
A pang of jealousy coursed in his heart, and he sighed.
He walked to his suitcase and opened it. He looked at the scarf in the side pocket before bringing it close to his face and sniffing it.
"I guess I’ll have to try a different approach—sothing that will make her go wow," the leader said.
Alok and Vincent looked at each other, not liking where his thoughts were going. They don’t know why, but his words made it sound like they were waiting for a disaster.
"I will call you guys if I need anything. Get lost," The leader said.
Vincent and Alok, who had arrived because the leader had called them saying he wanted advice on sothing urgent, finally realized the vital matter and rolled their eyes before leaving.
