"Maverick thinks the sa. Be our Luna. Once we mark you, you won’t be a rogue anymore," Reaper said.
I narrowed my eyes on him.
So he wants to change my identity to be able to love ? Besides, does he think becoming a Luna only involves the mate and wolf?
What about his pack? Would they even agree to it? I rembered how those girls looked at as if I was staining their grounds by being there and tainting their alpha.
"I disapprove," I said before turning around.
Aurora has so good explanations for her decision, but I am sure she has a valid reason for a person who always gets into a problem with this man to deny his proposition.
I bit my lips when soone held my hand, and I turned to look at Maverick.
"What’s the matter?" He asked, his eyes searching for sothing in mine, and I shook my head.
He doesn’t understand. Even if I voice those words, he won’t get it.
"You want to take away my identity from . For you guys, my identity as a rogue might be problematic because I turned into one after leaving the pack, but it’s much more for ," I said to Maverick.
There was so much to this identity. This identity taught how cruel this world could be. This identity has saved so many lives in the rogue world, and it has earned the trust of the rogues, who sacrificed their lives for this identity, sothing a pack wolf would never get.
This rogue identity now has 200 people hanging over her who wouldn’t follow her pack rules. I will have to talk to Theo and Tory about it. If they allow, I want to establish my previous Phoenix pack again, with all these loyal rogues as its mbers.
How can I leave the rogue life after joining so many rogues with myself?
It wasn’t just about them, either. It was sothing I didn’t want to do.
And it had nothing to do with my loyalty to one man or belonging to soone.
I can’t make so many people hopeless and helpless just because I like soone. Besides, though Maverick has the character of a stone and is worth trusting for his leadership, he is still an alpha. Can an alpha’s love be trusted?
Yes, I had trust issues, and they won’t go away just because soone proposed to as his Luna.
"I will try to understand," Maverick said after so ti, snapping out of my thoughts.
"Hmm?" I looked at him, confused.
"I will try to understand your life, Valencia. Give so ti, and just help a little," He whispered before he pulled close and placed his forehead on mine.
His actions made my heart flutter again, and I wondered if I was too harsh on a guy experiencing all this for the first ti, too.
"Are you sure about ?" I couldn’t help but ask.
He didn’t remove his forehead from mine and nodded his head.
"I have never been so sure in my life, Valencia. I need you in my life. Please don’t run away from next ti. I will lose my mind, I swear," He whispered before looking up at as he placed my hand on his chest.
"This is beating for you now. Can you hear how fast it’s beating? My pack might be my heart, but you are the beat. I want to be with you in all seasons, experience all emotions with you, and not test my love so much. Just let stay close to you," Maverick said.
’Now you know why I denied the proposal. I wanted you to hear how serious he is about us. And because we are not ready for this position,’ Aurora said.
Did she know Maverick would confess his feelings like this? What were the chances that he would have left us? She was playing a risky ga.
But then again, if he had left us, would he have been worthy of our attention?
We have been loving a toxic person for so long that the toxicity has now been engraved into us, too.
"About being your partner for the alphas’ eting, what if Tyler creates havoc in the eting and calls a rogue before everyone? I don’t want anyone to badmouth you either," I looked down at my feet, and he sighed.
It was true. As much as his words would affect , as the strongest alpha everyone is scared of and calls a monster, he would be the most affected one.
"Would you like to drink my blood?" He asked out of the blue, and I furrowed my brows at him when he bit into his palm and forced it in my mouth in a second, making widen my eyes.
However, as soon as that blood entered my body, I could feel my nerves calming imdiately.
It was as if the strain on the elastic band was finally removed, and my brain relaxed.
It was a peculiar way of calming . I don’t know if he figured sothing about my wolf liking the taste of blood or if it was a part of his manipulation skills, but it was indeed working.
"I will handle that," he said after so ti when I had enough. I looked at him with a much better view, my pupils expanding as my vision improved.
"And what about my heart?" I asked.
He froze for a second. I could feel how he was about to turn around and pause.
He didn’t say anything for a few seconds before his Adam’s apple moved up and down, making him look hotter with his side profile.
"I will put you into an eight-layered won’s security team and stay out of it myself. However, if there happens to be a case when you need , allow to pleasure you," Maverick cupped my cheeks, the urge and desire in his eyes making take a shaky breath before I nodded at him.
"O-okay," I licked my bottom lip.
"Please say I can kiss you," he said, placing his forehead on mine again, and I humd.
He didn’t waste a second in pressing his lips hard against mine as he kissed with urgency, making my head go dizzy for a second.
