VALENCIA’S POV
My body was too stiff. That was the first thought that crossed my head as soon as I regained consciousness.
"Hey, she is waking up," I heard a familiar voice and it didn’t take long for my brain to register that it belonged to none other than Alpha Maverick.
The events of what happened before I passed out flooded my head and I sighed inwardly, trying my best to open my eyes.
That masked man, those eyes, that voice, they looked so familiar that I almost confused him with the man of my mories, the one I saved. But how could it be the case?
If he was the one, he would’ve surely recognized , no? I wasn’t wearing a mask either.
’Aurora, are you okay?’ I asked my wolf who was lying in my head space with a peaceful expression on her face.
’I am fine and I am proud of you, Valencia. I am glad that the moon goddess reincarnated inside a strong human like you,’ Aurora said.
I looked at her strangely. It was expensive coming from her. She rarely sounds so genuine when complinting . Besides, what did she an reincarnated? Aren’t all wolves reincarnated?
She has a way of making everything about herself grande when she is probably the lowest rank of shapeshifter in reality who calls herself my wolf.
With a sigh, I opened my eyes with great difficulty, grateful to the person who dimd the lights beforehand so my eyes wouldn’t hurt terribly.
This hospital staff was definitely very attentive towards their patients. I will rate it five stars for this gesture.
As soon as I opened my eyes and my vision finally evened, the first thing that ca into my view was the familiar ceiling.
Wait. Why did this hospital’s ceiling look so much similar to back at my apartnt? When I ca here, I didn’t really see anything around because I was in so much pain, but the decor of this hospital was sure-
I looked around before completing my sentence and the realization finally dawned upon .
I was back in my room. They brought back to near the pack and my expression turned ugly for sure, because I was surely feeling angry.
"Valencia," I heard the sound of that one person I didn’t want to et in a fit of anger, and I looked at her as she entered the room cautiously.
"Are you angry?" She asked with an innocent expression and I sighed.
Not at your ifrit. I can’t be angry at you. You are too cute for to get angry at you. I wanted to say that to her but controlled my words because I knew she likes to act like the big baby sotis and doesn’t like it when I treat her like a baby.
"Why did you leave without telling ? I beca anxious," Alina said and I sighed as she sat close to .
"I am sorry, ifrit. It was sothing important," I said, not wanting to go into details and she nodded her head.
"By the way, your man is preparing healthy als for you," Alina said and I knew who she was talking about.
A sigh left my mouth.
I turned around to move, but even the slightest movent made feel like my wounds were torn again.
’What’s going on, Aurora? Why haven’t I healed yet?’ I asked the only person I could who shook her head.
’There were silver particles in your body because of the accident.
Luckily, after coming here Maverick noticed your limited healing and called the doctors to check the minute particles and remove them from your system.
Give it a couple of hours and your wounds will be healed completely,’ Aurora said and I sighed.
"Can you call him here, Alina?" I asked the girl, who nodded her head and walked out.
It wasn’t long before I heard his voice from sowhere in the apartnt as Alina didn’t close the door.
"Hey, can you keep stirring the soup? I will be right back," Maverick said.
It wasn’t long before I saw his shadow appearing in the room which was followed by him and my heart skipped a beat when I saw him standing there, wearing a black apron, looking like a al himself.
Heat crept up my neck and I bit the inside of my cheeks.
Seriously, was I turning into a pervert now? I just woke up from this issue and the first thing I thought about was having him as my al.
"You called , Mitsuki?" Maverick asked and I looked at him expressionlessly, or that’s what I tried to do.
He probably understood what I wanted to talk about and he sighed.
"First eat sothing and then I will explain everything to you. Please?" He asked gently and my heart lted at his pleading voice.
If it had been anyone else, I would’ve surely thrown a tantrum but how could anyone resist a man like him?
"Thank you for saving ," I said and the smile on his face faltered a bit.
He didn’t say anything but his eyes were speaking everything on his behalf.
"Hey," I moved a little, wincing in pain.
"Don’t move," he quickly stepped ahead to help and I held his hand in mine, stopping him from moving back.
"Are you stupid?" I asked and he looked at confused.
"What do you an?" He asked.
"If you are not stupid, why are you blaming yourself for sothing that wasn’t in your hands? It was an accident," I said, and judging from how he didn’t move or look into my eyes, I guess I was right.
It was saddening. I don’t know why, but the idea of him blaming himself and feeling sad about it was not settling well with .
I looked at him with a sigh before shaking my head.
"I just ca out of such a big accident. Must you show attitude? The least you can do for is give a sweet hug and say ’welco back’" I said and he looked at before he sat on the bed and leaned towards to hug , ensuring that he didn’t touch my wounds while doing it.
I wrapped my hands around him softly.
"I was really scared. You probably don’t take seriously, Valencia. But I have really started to care for you. You have beco an important part of my life," Maverick said and I humd.
He didn’t need to tell about it. His actions speak louder on his behalf. And I was definitely not blind. I could see who was really caring for .
"I know," I said, deliberately moving my lips against the skin of his neck and the little shudder from his side made happy.
I grinned at my own mischievousness before taking a deep breath.
After sitting there for so ti, Maverick stood from his place and placed his lips on my forehead.
"I would love to stay and sit with you for longer, but we need to get you fed too," He said and walked out of the room with a smile.
’He really cares for us,’ Aurora said as if I couldn’t see it and I rolled my eyes at her.
I was about to tell her what she was doing when I was in the hospital and why she didn’t wake up and told they were bringing here, but before I could do that, Dylan and Carl walked inside the room, making pause.
My gaze moved to Carl imdiately and I knew he was here to apologize. I sighed and laid back with care before closing my eyes.
I could hear Dylan’s sigh.
"Co on. Stop being childish," Dylan said and I opened my eyes before glaring at him.
"Childish? Do you think I am being childish? You guys are childish for doing this. I am sure it was your idea to bring here without even waiting for to wake up. Do you know why? Because you are the only one who has the authority," I said, and the way he grinned at , I knew I was right.
Seriously? He had the nerve to grin at after doing this? I was not talking to him.
I huffed loudly before trying to turn on the other side, but then I rembered I had the wound on my abdon which would tear open and left with no choice, I just kept my eyes closed.
"Valencia, I am sorry. Don’t be like this," Dylan moved towards and I was about to say sothing when I heard the loud fluttering of wings around .
I looked towards the window and noticed Argentavis sitting there.
"He has been anxious ever since he saw you unconscious, not even letting us close the doors or windows," Dylan explained and I looked at my bird, who imdiately flew inside and sat directly on my chest.
I was about to tell the bird I was okay when soone walked inside the room, stomping his feet.
"Hey! That’s my place!" Maverick said to her bird like an angry child and heat crept up my neck as my pupils dilated at what he spoke.
Seriously? In front of everyone!
’Oh boy,’ Aurora chuckled at my embarrassnt while I looked at Maverick, who had a similar expression at his slip-up.
