ALPHA MAVERICK’S POV
"Sir, did you receive the information?" Shadow asked as soon as I landed at the airport, and I furrowed my brows.
"If you are going to say that you didn’t arrange for a taxi or a hotel already, I will beat the hell out of you," I said, feeling pretty much annoyed that we had to co here when I pretty much wanted to stay with my woman.
There were so many things that I wanted to talk to her about. Getting so alone ti with her was already a task and now that strange woman appeared out of nowhere who has been acting like a kid to attract all of Valencia’s attention.
"That’s not it, sir," Shadow said and I sighed, massaging my forehead when I saw the man standing with my na on his board.
I walked to the man before getting inside the car.
"If that’s not the case, why are you wasting my ti?" I asked.
"Sir, it’s about the rogue head," Shadow said, and I quirked my brows, his words catching my attention.
Anything related to the rogue head was worth listening to.
"What about it?"
Shadow cleared his throat.
"I am not sure how true this information is, but there are actually two rogue heads. One rogue head has been collecting the rogues who have been abandoned by their packs and employing them. They don’t even get involved in much illegal stuff," Shadow said.
"And the other one?" I asked.
"He is the real deal. There isn’t a single illegal activity that his group rogues haven’t done," he added.
I humd vaguely.
"Now tell the interesting part," I said and the man stopped.
"Sir, this was the news itself," he said.
I sighed as I scrolled through the docunts that Alpha Zane ssaged when I was on the flight and could only access them now.
"We always knew there are good and bad rogues, Shadow. Apart from the ones we fight in the forests when attacked, don’t we always give them the benefit of the doubt? The outsiders might not know about it, but you don’t either?" I asked, and the man cleared his throat.
"Sir, that’s not-"
"Do you know what would be sothing worth calling news to ? When you bring the photos of those two rogue heads and tell if you found any link to my brother," I said.

I could hear Shadow taking a deep breath on the other side.
I know this was getting hard on my team. We were trying to chase a person we didn’t have any idea about, and the most important was, that we did not have any lead on what kind of rogues he was dealing with or if he was even the real face behind all the attacks happening in the Dark Callisto pack.
That was the reason why I never pushed my people to overwork themselves. This fire of vengeance has been lightning in my heart for quite too long and it can wait for a couple of years.
We should be proud of wiping so many rogues single-handedly without the help of other packs or the council.
’You are just saying this to hide your incompetence,’ Reaper chid in with his usual dismissing attitude toward my hard work, and I glared at the wolf who shrugged like it was no big deal.
I shook my head and after saying a few more words, I ended the call, looking out of the window.
The so-called event was supposed to start in one hour.
I was honestly not at all in a hurry to go to another alpha gathering when we just had one, but this was a great opportunity to socialize and see what the alphas of the East were up to.
Besides, from what I heard when Carl and Dylan were talking, I think Valencia belonged to this side of the country.
If luck was with , I might be able to find sothing about her, sothing that I can hold against her to keep her with .
A cunning smile appeared on my face at the thought of seeing her shocked and helpless face.
Huh... Man, I was whipped for her when she doesn’t even feel that kind of attraction towards .
I don’t even know what I will do if she starts to show even 50% of what I feel towards her.
’What will you do? Obviously, marriage is in the picture,’ Reaper said and I froze in my place.
Marriage? It was a word I didn’t think I would ever think about, but now that Reaper ntioned it and...
I couldn’t even finish my thought when the jerked to the side and I stuck my knees in the driver’s seat to save myself from hitting my head on the seat as the car hit the tree, making my body jerk forward.
With a glare at the driver, I was about to ask him what was the matter when I saw around ten n standing around us.
Co on. I was already having a hard ti thinking about how I have to attend this party and now the first thing I am greeted with is an attack.
"Sir-" The driver whimpered with blood rolling down the side of his head.
The look of fear in his eyes was a bit too evident. He was probably one of those guys who was worried about his family waiting at ho for him.
I don’t bla him. Probably if I had a family and kids, I would be pretty much worried about my life too.
"Stay in the car and don’t co out until the car is under attack. I will handle this," I said to the man who was in his forties and he imdiately joined his hands to thank .
I cleared my throat before getting out of the car to deal with these n who thought it was a great idea to stop from going sowhere because they thought they could hurt the alpha of the strongest pack.
As soon as I stepped out of the car, three more cars drifted across where all of us were standing before they stopped and multiple n dressed in black, stood behind with rifles in their hands.
Did they really think I was traveling alone? Whoever gave them this information did a really bad job at it.
It was true that I boarded the flight alone from the airport and exited the airport alone but it was all because I had sent my n here two hours prior so they could handle everything before I ca here.
They were in a eting with the Alpha of the LightRay pack when I was on that two-hour flight and had been following from the mont we started moving from the airport.
I saw the insecurity in their eyes and couldn’t help but tilt my head.
"You guys wanted to say sothing to us? If yes, can you do it quicker? As you can see, we are pressed for ti," I said, my cold alpha voice imdiately bringing them to their knees.
"An Alpha?" One of them said and I sighed.
Moon goddess, don’t tell they were just regular bandits and didn’t even know they were stopping an Alpha.
Was this the kind of security that areas near the Hazel Moon pack were? Judging from how Alpha Tyler was vouching facts at the Alpha’s eting, he almost made it sound like he was ready to take the position among the top 5 alphas.
The hell.
I was already getting a headache when I hadn’t been inside the pack.
"Soone please teach them a lesson," I said to the n behind .
The indication was clear. They weren’t to be killed, only beaten and scared a little for wasting my ti and trying to scare .
Hopefully, this will make them stop and they will stop doing this to other passengers.
This was probably the only route from the airport to the mainland city and that’s why they were doing it here.
I got inside one of the cars that my n were using before pulling out my phone from my pocket.
Dialing the number of one person I knew would improve my mood imdiately, I waited for her to pick up the call.
"Hey, what are you-"
"Who is this?" I heard the familiar voice from the other side and my mood imdiately worsened.
"What are guys doing answering her calls? Give her the phone imdiately," I said.
"So it’s you. The alpha who wants to take away my woman from ," That strange lady Alina said and I scowled.
What did she an by that? Her woman? Valencia was mine.
"You know, one of these days I will really snap your head. You better don’t et when she is not around," I seethed through my teeth.
"And when will you stop threatening her?"
I froze. It was Valencia.
This wretched woman! She gave the phone to Valencia right at that ti when she knew I was going to say words like that!!
