Chapter 86: Chapter 86: I’ll wait for her to co to on her own initiative

It wasn’t Lu Xining’s imagination.

The black figure that flashed past on the rooftop of the villa diagonally opposite disappeared the mont she looked over.

Soone was definitely tracking her in secret!

With just one look from Lu Xining, the bodyguard at the door imdiately understood and led several people toward the diagonally opposite villa.

Haozi also received the ssage, beginning to check the surveillance systems near the Lu Family, circling everyone suspicious.

However, before her people could identify the person behind this, Lu Xining had already received a ssage from Ji Muye’s people.

...

The official owner behind that villa was soone she did not know, but in reality, it was the Jiang Family.

Knowing that it was Jiang Jishu’s people spying on her, Lu Xining’s expression was not pretty.

Monkey ca over to report on the work and learned about this incident, vowing to abduct the culprit for a lesson but was promptly stopped by Lu Xining.

“He’s just too idle, let’s find sothing for him to do.”

She didn’t want to refrain from dealing with Jiang Jishu.

The Jiang Family’s parents had died early, and it was Jiang Wanqing who had raised him.

At that ti, she was still just a teenager herself and lacked experience in educating a younger brother; all she could do was to be responsive to every request of this only brother, gradually spoiling him.

The consequence was that it led to his current reckless character, not knowing how to cherish the people around him.

“Sister Ning, Xue Lin has already regained consciousness.”

He took out a folded envelope from his pocket, “This is a letter she wrote to you.”

Lu Xining opened it, finding two thin sheets of paper inside.

One was an IOU for dical expenses.

The other was a letter of thanks.

After reading the contents, Lu Xining slowly curled her lips into a smile.

Initially, she had agreed to save Xue Lin partly because she felt a mont of empathy; upon learning of her pregnancy, Xue Lin had seen Jiang Jishu cheating, which resembled herself from two years earlier.

Even more important, her personality was so much like Jiang Wanqing’s.

More like Jiang Wanqing’s family mber than Jiang Jishu.

Xue Lin was the kind of person who rembered kindness and sought to repay it, promising to work hard to earn money to pay back her own dical expenses after recovery.

Having a goal gave one the willpower to survive.

Lu Xining put the IOU aside and said to Monkey, “Prepare a bill for her, and the amount…”

She paused for a mont before continuing, “Write it a bit higher.”

Monkey understood her aning, jokingly saying, “Is Sister Ning worried that she might once again lose the will to live, planning to have Xue Lin owe a lifeti of debt?”

“A lifeti is too long; half a lifeti will do.”

Lu Xining herself had tasted the bitterness of love and knew that deep, heart-wrenching sensation, but fortunately, she had the Lu Family’s bankruptcy before that, and the years she spent depending on her grandmother had toughened her will enough.

Because of this, she had her current business and life.

With a wry smile, she shook her head inwardly – had she ever thought that one day she would be grateful for the Lu Family’s bankruptcy in her childhood?

Lu Xining’s gaze fell on the gratitude letter that Xue Lin had written to her; it contained only a few short sentences.

Not many, but very sincere.

While Xue Lin’s family wasn’t as wealthy as Jiang Jishu’s, she had loving parents and grew up surrounded by love.

After her parents died in a car accident, Jiang Jishu helped her co out of the shadows, and she started to consider him the most important person in her life.

She had been looking forward to marrying him right after graduating, looking forward to having children with him and dreaming about a future where she could form a happy little family just like her parents.

Who would have known that before they could marry, at the mont she learned of her pregnancy, she would witness Jiang Jishu’s betrayal and, unable to bear the shock, choose to jump off a building.

Although Xue Lin had awakened now, her will to live was not strong, and if she encountered Jiang Jishu again, it was uncertain if another problem might occur.

“I rember Xue Lin studied painting in college; didn’t we rescue an artist before? Send Xue Lin to him for further study.”

“Sister Ning, that’s a master in the art world; being his disciple is like stepping into the top tier of artists. Why are you helping Xue Lin this much?”

Lu Xining just smiled and joked, “Lab equipnt repair costs a fortune, isn’t it better to have one more person making money?”

The maintenance of all the precision instrunts in the ZN laboratory, as well as various experintal research, constituted a hefty monthly expense.

Otherwise, Lu Xining wouldn’t have been diagnosing patients regularly to earn money from the pockets of the rich.

For Lu Xining, it was just a helping hand for Xue Lin, but for the latter, it was the starting point of her future brilliant life.

Later on, the female artist who secured her place at the peak of the world’s art scene didn’t view money as dirt like other artists did.

Her favorite thing to do was to convert her works into money, and then funnel that money into the ZN laboratory in Lu Xining’s na, to benefit all of humanity.

Lu Xining took a pen from nearby and wrote a sentence at the end of the thank-you letter: “I’m looking forward to it.”

She accepted the IOU, stuffed the thank-you letter back into the envelope, and handed it to Monkey, “Cover her tracks well.”

For Monkey, that wasn’t a difficult task, “Don’t worry, Sister Ning, I guarantee the task will be completed.”

In the following days, Jiang Jishu didn’t leave the company.

Many partners whose contracts were about to expire all backed out of cooperation, and those new partners who had been confird the day before were now hedging and stalling on the contracts.

“Mr. Jiang, the collaboration we just confird yesterday, they’re backing out!”

“The policies above have changed, and the new project line in the south was directly cut off!”

“Mr. Jiang, it’s trouble! That plot of land in the south of the city…”

Jiang Jishu only felt like he had a dozen headaches; business was fine and then suddenly a slew of problems arose – even a fool could tell soone was sabotaging from behind, and the first person who popped into his mind was Ji Muye.

…That petty man!

Little did he know, the man he was cursing was at that mont being stopped by Monkey and bodyguards outside the Lu Family’s gate.

The word was that Lu Xining wouldn’t let him in.

The exact words were…

“Sister Ning said, when Ji Chao and Ji Ze are not in the Lu Family house, it’s better for President Ji to avoid the appearance of impropriety.”

“After all, Sister Ning is single now, and it would not look good if her many admirers saw you here, since she’s planning to find a satisfactory partner to remarry.”

If Monkey’s first sentence caused Ji Muye’s face to darken, then by the ti the latter sentence was spoken, the man’s dark eyes bore the sharpness of a knife, ready to slice apart the person who dared to say such words.

Before eting Lu Xining, Monkey had already been living on the edge, constantly ducking in and out of death’s shadow, having t the King of Hell several tis over.

He shrugged his shoulders innocently at Ji Muye, his smile widening, “Sister Ning’s very words, if you don’t believe it… you can ask her yourself.”

How can I ask when she won’t even see ?

Yan Dong stood with an icy expression, leading the bodyguards to step forward imdiately, “Mr. Fu, words can bring disaster; so things should be considered more carefully before spoken.”

The threat was clear.

The tense atmosphere between the two groups was on the verge of eruption!

Ji Muye looked up at the third-floor study of the villa inside the courtyard; the delicate enal carved windows opened from the inside out, white sheers fluttering in the wind.

The potted plants outside were in full bloom, their lush branches cascading downward like a waterfall woven from vibrant flowers.

They were just as beautiful as the flowers she used to grow on the Ji Family study’s balcony, yet they were no longer shadows within his reach.

His eyes, keen as a falcon’s, simred with the sharpness of a hunter as Ji Muye gradually subdued the emotions deep in his heart.

He glanced at Yan Dong beside him, who imdiately took out docunts and handed them to Monkey.

With one last look at the study window, Ji Muye left with the words, “I’ll wait for her to co to proactively.”

The black Maybach quickly departed from the Lu Family’s doorstep.

Monkey looked down at the docunt bag in his hands and the mont he saw the seal stamped on the back, his expression changed.

anwhile, Liu Xixi was trapped in a villa room, enduring the frenzied assault of the man on her.

As soon as three minutes were up, the potbellied man imdiately ceased his exertion, lying on her chest, panting with breaths reeking of smoke.

Liu Xixi turned her face away in disgust, her fist clenched tight. If she hadn’t been utterly desperate, she wouldn’t have co to this old man, let alone let him have his way with her!

“Xixi, feeling good now? This week, I almost died on top of you.”
