"How did you know?" Wang Chengyao’s eyes widened in surprise, his hands covering his mouth.

"I could just tell. I am the Divine Doctor’s disciple, you know. I have a Mind Reading Technique," Gu Jiaojiao teased him with a straight face.

Wang Chengyao switched to resting his chin in his hands, looking at Gu Jiaojiao with stars in his eyes. "Oh my god, you really have a Mind Reading Technique? Can you teach ?"

Inwardly, Wang Chengrong looked down on his foolish younger brother. ’It’s bad enough that he doesn’t study hard.’

’He pours all his energy into that face of his, leaving him with nothing but good looks.’ He couldn’t take it anymore and asked, "Chengyao, what would you even do with a Mind Reading Technique?"

"If I could read minds, I’d definitely use it for Divination! It would be such a waste otherwise."

The words tumbled out of Wang Chengyao. He was a very honest person who always spoke his mind and never beat around the bush.

Gu Jiaojiao really wanted to roll her eyes at them, but her persona wouldn’t allow it. She lowered her gaze and said, "I’m afraid I can’t do that. My school doesn’t take disciples casually."

Hearing Gu Jiaojiao’s words, Wang Chengyao shot up like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. "No one has ever been able to refuse !"

Gu Jiaojiao didn’t get angry. Instead, she said with a grin, "Is that because you’re so handso? Well, today, I’ll let you have a taste of rejection."

Her smile was exceptionally brilliant, and her voice was sweet and lodic, as pleasant as the song of a warbler.

Wang Chengyao was montarily captivated. He stared at Gu Jiaojiao in a daze, smiling foolishly along with her, his anger forgotten.

Mu Ziquan erged from a shower to this very scene. He coughed twice, but it wasn’t enough to snap Wang Chengyao out of his dopey grin.

"Chengyao, wipe your drool. Look at how foolish you are. What Mind Reading Technique? She just figured out what was on your mind."

Mu Ziquan said with a look of disgust. Anyone could see he was in a terrible mood.

"Cousin! Grandfather said you’re feeling much better. Why don’t you look happy?" Wang Chengyao asked in a low voice while wiping the corner of his mouth.

"Cousin, your complexion is much better. Is there hope for a full recovery?" Wang Chengrong asked seriously.

Mu Ziquan glanced at the Wang brothers without another word, simply nodding a greeting to Mr. Wang.

Wang Heming’s eyes grew moist as he looked at his nephew, who seed so much more energetic and healthy. ’This nephew of mine can be saved. The Mu Family won’t fall into decline after all.’

He ca from a farming background, and his current status and position were all thanks to the support of his wife’s family. He genuinely loved his wife and children, so he especially hoped for the Mu Family to prosper.

He had watched Mu Ziquan grow up. Though brilliant from a young age, the boy had indeed suffered a great deal.

When his father-in-law and nephew were suffering, he and his own wife and children had been spared, thanks to his status as a poor or lower-middle-class peasant.

Later, when his father-in-law was reinstated to his official post, his whole family’s fortunes soared. How could he not be grateful to the Mu Family!

With tears welling in his eyes, Wang Heming looked at Gu Jiaojiao and asked, "Divine Doctor, may I ask if Ziquan’s manic episodes are cured now?"

He also wanted to ask if Mu Ziquan’s legs could be healed, but he was too embarrassed to ask too many questions.

Gu Jiaojiao glanced at the Wang father and sons. Their concern didn’t seem feigned; they likely just wanted to stay attached to the Mu Family’s coattails.

She considered for a mont before saying, "Mu Ziquan’s manic episodes were caused by poison. The poison has now been neutralized, so they will not happen again."

"The Divine Doctor is truly amazing." The Wang father and sons all breathed a sigh of relief, and tears of joy stread down Wang Heming’s face.

Wang Chengrong and Wang Chengyao had been afraid of their cousin since childhood. They looked like they wanted to say sothing but didn’t dare.

At that mont, Mr. Mu and Mu Qingtong had gone back to the kitchen to give instructions for dinner, leaving the atmosphere in the living room a little awkward.

Gu Jiaojiao had to find sothing to say. "I’ve heard that Mu Ziquan is extraordinarily intelligent. If he went into business, he’d be a prodigy in the business world.

If he went into politics, he’d be a star in the political arena. If he practiced dicine, he would undoubtedly be the North Star of the dical field.

In short, he’s the kind of genius who excels at whatever he does. Don’t you agree?"

The Wang father and sons nodded in agreent. Mr. Wang said with emotion, "Ziquan has been a genius since he was a child. No matter what he does, he achieves twice the results with half the effort."

Although Wang Chengyao didn’t fully understand, that didn’t stop him from flattering, "My cousin is indeed a formidable person. In any case, I’ve always been terrified of him."

Wang Chengrong also admired Mu Ziquan, but being more reserved, he just nodded repeatedly without saying anything.

Mu Qingtong had just walked into the living room from the kitchen when she heard Gu Jiaojiao praising her nephew.

She said cheerfully, "That’s right! Ziquan has been outstanding since he was little. If it weren’t for his injury, no girl in the entire Imperial City would be worthy of him."

Her adopted daughter, Wang Yuting, had liked Mu Ziquan for a long ti, but Mu Qingtong felt she wasn’t good enough for her nephew.

She never relented on this. It was only after Mu Ziquan was injured and paralyzed that she felt her adopted daughter was barely worthy of her nephew.

In truth, she felt it was a great pity. For Wang Yuting to marry her nephew would be a terrible waste.

Mu Qingtong had been spoiled by her father and brother since childhood, then doted on by her husband after marriage, and later protected by her sons. As a result, she had always been very naive.

She wore her heart on her sleeve, and Wang Chengyao had inherited her simple nature.

This was also why Wang Yuting hated and looked down on her, even though it was true that Mu Qingtong loved Wang Yuting very much.

She even loved Wang Yuting more than her own two sons. But compared to the only nephew from her maiden family, Wang Yuting ca second.

In the past, whenever Wang Yuting ntioned she liked Mu Ziquan, Mu Qingtong would say they were cousins, her face filled with disdain.

Wang Yuting had been skilled at reading people since she was young, so she inwardly despised her foolish adoptive mother and harbored a special hatred for her.

Later, when Mu Ziquan was paralyzed, Wang Yuting saw her chance and finally dared to say she liked him, and Mu Qingtong happily agreed.

Because in Mu Qingtong’s heart, her nephew was the most outstanding person in the world, followed by her adopted daughter, Wang Yuting.

This led to the scene Gu Jiaojiao had witnessed the day before yesterday. That mother and daughter were really sothing else.

The Wang father and sons felt that their wife and mother, respectively, was being embarrassingly and blindly showy, but they remained silent.

Mu Qingtong didn’t feel awkward at all that no one was speaking. She looked at the beautiful Gu Jiaojiao and asked a truly idiotic question.

"Now that Ziquan’s poison is cured, and maybe he can even stand up in the future... then... then would the Divine Doctor’s disciple like Ziquan?"

The expression on Mu Qingtong’s face was priceless. On one hand, she felt that even the Divine Doctor’s disciple wasn’t good enough for her nephew, but on the other, she was afraid the disciple would refuse.

When Mu Ziquan heard his aunt’s words, his heart leaped into his throat.

His face flushed red, and he didn’t dare to look at Gu Jiaojiao, afraid she would mock his aunt for overestimating herself.

The Wang father and sons were used to Mu Qingtong’s way of speaking. They just smiled awkwardly.

Gu Jiaojiao was speechless. ’How has this moron from the Mu Family even survived to middle age?’

If she didn’t handle this well, she would really hurt Mu Ziquan’s pride. Steeling herself, she spoke.

"First, let make one thing clear: Mu Ziquan’s legs will, one hundred percent, recover and return to normal.

Second, Ziquan’s grandfather and I are sworn siblings. That makes his grand-aunt.

And just as you said, no girl in the entire Imperial City is worthy of Ziquan. Soone as outstanding as Ziquan deserves an even better girl."
