Back to the 1980s: Transmigrated as the Bigshot's Pampered Wife Chapter 123: What Secret Could I Have?
While her mom was on the phone, Sheng Yueyue viciously kicked Mr. Sheng on the ground, cursing as she did.
"You want to fight ? Are you even worthy? Do you have any idea who I am? I’m the chosen one, understand?"
Lying on the ground in a fit of rage, Mr. Sheng wished that Sheng Yueyue’s words would just knock him out completely.
Unfortunately, he could still hear his daughter’s tirade. "What’s wrong with relying on n? I was blessed with heavenly looks; I deserve to be adored and cherished by n.
"It was Song Zijin who was never satisfied. He was sleeping with while still thinking about that bitch, Gu Jiaojiao.
"So what’s wrong with not wanting to marry him? He Aijun isn’t great, but at least he’s incredible in bed and not the type to fool around..."
Whether it was from Sheng Yueyue’s words or her kicks, Mr. Sheng finally passed out completely.
Su Shuochi went to the cold noodle stall first. "Dad, Mom, we have guests at ho. You two should pack up and head back to start cooking. I’ll go pick up Jiaojiao and grab so groceries on my way ho."
"Alright, we’ll pack up and head ho right now. Chi, you go on and get Jiaojiao," Su’s mother said, beaming.
Su Shuochi then went over to Mr. Gu and Second Brother Gu. "Dad, Second Brother, you should co ho early for dinner. A few of Grandpa’s old friends have co to visit."
"Grandpa’s friends are here? No wonder he didn’t co to sell savory crepes today. Hehe, you had so worried."
"Worried about what? I didn’t see you looking worried. And I certainly didn’t see you go back to check on your grandpa," Mr. Gu teased his second son with a smile.
"One savory crepe, please. Make it spicy," another custor called out.
"Coming right up! See? It’s not that I didn’t want to go look for Grandpa. How could I possibly get away from all this?"
Mr. Gu and Su Shuochi shared a knowing smile. "Go on and get Jiaojiao. We’ll head ho early for dinner."
"Alright, I’m heading out then."
By the ti Su Shuochi arrived at the school gate, many students were already pouring out.
"Brother-in-law, what brings you here again?" Dong Qiming asked, stopping his bicycle in front of Su Shuochi.
He had just given his cousin a ride from campus and was planning to take her straight ho.
"Su Shuochi, you’re here." Gu Jiaojiao hopped off the back of the bicycle and walked happily over to him.
"Yes, I told you I’d co get you," Su Shuochi said, his voice exceptionally gentle.
Gu Jiaojiao naturally took hold of his wheelchair to push him, and the couple headed off, talking and laughing together.
The other students only stole glances at the man in the wheelchair; no one dared to approach them with snide remarks anymore.
’Those two are not to be trifled with. They’re quick to throw a punch, and we don’t want to get beaten up.’
"Honey, two top-tier Divine Doctors ca from the Imperial City..." Once Su Shuochi saw his wife, the words started pouring out of him like water from a faucet.
"They’re both teaching at Imperial Capital dical University? And they want to study under ?" Gu Jiaojiao asked in surprise.
’Are people in this era really so open-minded?!’
’I’m only eighteen this year. I was planning to lie low and build up my skills for a couple of years before making a big splash!’
"That’s right. Grandpa probably wants them to assist you with Song Zijie’s surgery."
"That works too. Performing such a difficult surgery alone would be exhausting. Besides, I can just bring out the dical equipnt from my dinsion."
"Honey, can we do it without your equipnt?" Su Shuochi asked, a little worried.
"No way. Without that equipnt, a high-difficulty surgery like that is simply impossible."
"That He Shen Yi is only interested in dical techniques, so he won’t understand the equipnt. But this Doctor Xia you ntioned won’t be so easy to fool."
Based on Su Shuochi’s description, Gu Jiaojiao had already figured out the personalities of the two old masters.
"Doctor Xia seems like a die-hard dical enthusiast too. When he sees our advanced equipnt, he’ll just be in awe. He won’t overthink it."
Su Shuochi said confidently. You could tell just from the fact that Xia Qiuming wanted to beco his wife’s disciple.
"Haha... In that case, we have nothing to worry about. We’ll go check out the courtyard house tomorrow at noon and imdiately start renovating two rooms into dical suites."
Hearing his wife’s words, Su Shuochi was reminded of what Mr. Sheng had said: one person who truly understands you is worth more than a million who just smile at you.
He then rattled on, recounting everything Sheng Yueyue had done that day—gossip he’d picked up along the way thanks to his sharp hearing.
"Sheng Yueyue actually announced in public that she’s ’the chosen one’? Did sothing happen that made her so desperate she’d do anything?"
"Jiaojiao, is there sothing unusual about her?" Su Shuochi asked, noticing that his wife wasn’t the least bit surprised.
"She was reborn. She has mories from her past life..." Gu Jiaojiao quietly explained the concept of rebirth to Su Shuochi.
Su Shuochi was incredibly accepting and believed her without a shred of doubt. ’If my wife could transmigrate, then it’s perfectly normal for Sheng Yueyue to be reborn.’
He wasn’t worried about Sheng Yueyue knowing what the future held. His own wife knew, too, so what was there to be afraid of?
It’s true what they say—like attracts like. The couple was thinking the exact sa thing.
And so, the couple continued to discuss their plans for renovating the dical rooms in hushed tones.
"Honey, let’s find a secluded spot to pull out a leg of wild boar and a duck. I didn’t have any ti to buy at today."
"The pedestrians on this road are already giving us a wide berth. We can take it out now," Gu Jiaojiao said, glancing around.
They were already on a side path, so people were even less likely to walk right next to them.
As she spoke, a cardboard box appeared in Gu Jiaojiao’s hands. She grinned triumphantly and placed it on his wheelchair.
"You... you still love giving a heart attack, don’t you? Just feel my chest, my heart is pounding in my throat."
Su Shuochi steadied the box with one hand while holding a squawking old duck in the other.
"You silly goose. This stretch of road is already pretty secluded. I checked everywhere—front, back, left, and right—before I took anything out."
"Besides, you already had a cardboard box on your lap. Who would ever suspect I just materialized sothing out of thin air?"
"If anything, your idea of finding a ’secluded spot’ is riskier. We’d be walking along, then suddenly vanish, only to reappear later."
"Would that really be a good idea? Don’t you know how closely everyone is watching us?"
Su Shuochi’s heart relaxed as he listened to his wife’s logical explanation.
Thankfully, he had prepared for this by grabbing an empty cardboard box from his parents’ cold noodle stall, telling them he would use it for groceries.
Now, it just looked like he’d swapped one box for another. No one would ever guess that Jiaojiao had just pulled out a leg of wild boar, and even so dried river snail at...
"Hehe... My wife is always so thorough. I’m just always so afraid soone will discover your secret."
"Hee hee... What secret could I possibly have? I’m just an ordinary person. You’re the one who’s overthinking things."
"Right, right. I’m overthinking it. My mistake." The couple arrived ho, still laughing and joking.
Xie Zhuoyu was waiting at the courtyard gate. When he saw the couple return, he imdiately greeted them with a smile.
"Shuo Ci, Sister-in-law, you’re back! The two aunties are just waiting on you to start cooking the at."
With that, he went to lift the cardboard box from Su Shuochi’s wheelchair, not realizing how heavy it was. The weight nearly made him stumble and fall.
"Good heavens, did you guys really buy this much pork?"
"Jiaojiao, you’re back! Co on in and et so of Grandpa’s old friends."
