"No, no, no, Huo Beijiang, have you lost your mind? You dare to lock up? Don’t forget your identity, don’t forget the mission that brought you here!" Ding Jiaqi finally realized she was in trouble and scread desperately, "If you dare to lock up, I swear I’ll file a complaint against you when I return. I really will complain about you—you can’t lock up."
Huo Beijiang, irritated, waved his hand while the two n escorting Ding Jiaqi sped up their pace. Midway through, Ding Jiaqi caught sight of Nan Fei erging from Huo Beijiang’s room out of the corner of her eye, and she almost exploded on the spot.
"Who is that? Who is she?" Ding Jiaqi shrieked hysterically. "No... Huo Beijiang, you can’t treat like this! Are you blind? How can you let a woman like her into your room? You..."
Before Ding Jiaqi could finish her sentence, soone struck her unconscious with a sharp blow.
Lu Jin stood frozen in place, uneasy and guilty, not daring to et Huo Beijiang’s gaze.
The others either slithered away quietly or returned to their posts as quickly as possible.
"I’m sorry, Boss," Lu Jin apologized cautiously. "I should’ve knocked Ding Jiaqi out from the start." If he hadn’t tried to avoid clashing with a woman, she wouldn’t have been able to cause so much chaos.
This was all his fault!
With the lady boss losing her sight, the boss clearly hated hearing words like ’blind.’ Yet Ding Jiaqi had scread those words recklessly, practically inviting her own demise.
Lu Jin cursed inwardly.
Huo Beijiang’s sharp and nacing glare landed on Lu Jin, the piercing intensity slicing through him like blades. Cold sweat ran down Lu Jin’s back, his scalp tingling under such a terrifying gaze. In all his years with the boss, he’d never been looked at like this.
"When we return to the country, you’ll go spend so ti training in the barracks."
Huo Beijiang’s words hit Lu Jin like a thunderbolt. His handso face went pale, and his eyes reddened with remorse. "Boss, I was wrong. I swear I’ll never hesitate to be firm again. Please—don’t send away—I don’t want to go."
Being sent to the barracks ant he couldn’t stay with the entire group anymore. He’d served in the military for years and had never been apart from the boss. The thought of leaving terrified him. He didn’t want to go.
"This is an order." Huo Beijiang’s tone left no room for negotiation.
For the second ti, Little Deer needed to learn his lesson.
Lu Jin bit his lip before reluctantly agreeing, "Yes!" Afterward, he sneaked a glance at Huo Beijiang, only to find him turned away and staring intently at Nan Fei, who stood by the door.
For reasons unknown, seeing Huo Beijiang’s expression made Lu Jin feel even worse inside—the heaviness in his chest now felt unbearable.
By the doorway, Xing Yu was rushing over, ticulously taking guard in front of Nan Fei. He asked her softly how she was feeling, whether she was uncomfortable, and so on. When he heard Nan Fei hadn’t eaten yet, his own stomach began growling loudly as well.
Only then did he rember that he himself hadn’t eaten for an entire day and night since yesterday.
"I’ll get you sothing to eat," Xing Yu said with a smile.
"Alright! Be sure to grab extra, so we can eat together," Nan Fei replied.
"Huh?" Xing Yu froze, his tone awkward. "Really?"
Nan Fei chuckled softly, "Of course. Aren’t we classmates? Or, are you looking down on now that I’m blind? Do you think I’m not good enough to be your classmate anymore?"
"No, no, not at all..." Xing Yu waved his hands quickly. "I’m really glad to be your classmate. Wait here—I’ll go ask Lu Jin where we can find food."
"Alright!"
