Chapter 1263: Chapter 1282: Missing You

Huo Beijiang was very satisfied with her use of the words “at ho,” his lips curving into a gentle smile as he said, “I can make calls now because we haven’t reached our destination, but once we do, it won’t be possible.”

“That’s good,” Nan Fei knew his missions were fraught with danger but she couldn’t help worrying, reminding him, “Rember to take good care of yourself, I’ll be waiting for you at ho.”

“Mhm!” Huo Beijiang nodded vigorously, grinning like an idiot.

The nurous staff busy in the communication room stole glances at the tall figure in the corner, exchanging looks with each other. Everyone said that Captain Huo had beco even more ferocious after going to the Northern Military District, but how co what they were seeing didn’t match the rumors at all?

This is what rumors are like!

When had The Great Devil ever smiled like this before? He only ever had a mocking, cold, or roguish smile.

Huo Beijiang didn’t care about others’ gazes at all, rambling on with all kinds of instructions. He tediously repeated advice on everything from food to accommodation—wishing he could say each several tis over—before concluding in dissatisfaction, “Wife, mobile phones have been introduced to our country now, I’ll have soone send you one tomorrow, rember to carry it with you. This way, it’ll be easier for to find you.”

“That… that might not be such a good idea?” She, a military spouse, should not stand out too much, and none of her classmates used a mobile phone. Among the people she knew, she had only seen Sister Chen and Huo Kewei with one.

“What’s not good about it!” Huo Beijiang imdiately rejected her reservation, “Having a mobile phone is convenient. If you encounter any issues, you can find Ning Di directly. I’ve already spoken with him; he’ll be at your service whenever you need.”

Nan Fei nodded and then, rembering that he couldn’t see, quickly added, “Okay! I’ll listen to you.” She initially wanted to tell him about Zhuanzhuan, but she thought it might be better not to distract him while he’s on a mission, amidst gunfire and bullets.

The matters between her and Zhuanzhuan were, to be honest, neither huge nor trivial. But when laid out in front of Bei Jiang, they all seed insignificant.

When facing life and death, everything else pales in comparison.

“Wife…” Huo Beijiang’s deep voice unexpectedly carried a hint of nervousness, “Wife, do you still have a headache today? Feeling dizzy? Do you feel unwell anywhere?”

“No more headache, no dizziness; I’m feeling quite well now,” Nan Fei spoke in a light and natural tone, smilingly saying, “I’m all better now, don’t worry. Last ti was probably just from getting upset. You can’t allow yourself to upset again from now on.”

“Wife, how dare I!” Huo Beijiang said playfully over the phone, yet on the other end, he tightly clenched his fists and his handso face was overcast with not a trace of a smile.

“Wife, if you tell to face east, I wouldn’t dare face west; if you tell to scold a dog, I wouldn’t dare curse a chicken,” Huo Beijiang shalessly boasted, “A good man like is hard to find, even with a lantern. Wife, you know you should cherish this!”

“Hahaha…” Nan Fei was amused, teasing him, “Old Wang boasts about his own lons, I’m not going to let you curse chickens. Usually, you attack indiscriminately.”

“That’s true,” Huo Beijiang agreed, “Looking at those people, they’re either dead stupid or think they’re smart and get too full of themselves, almost flaunting their shrewdness on their faces. So are just too ugly for the eyes.”

“Alright! Stop there,” Nan Fei cut off the laughter, “Keep going and you won’t have to worry about dying at enemies’ hands.” She felt like punching soone just listening to him.

The busy people in the communication room could only bristle silently, thankful that they were all disciplined, devoted, militarily skilled, and highly professional soldiers. Otherwise, they’d risk getting beaten up just to challenge The Great Devil.
