A crystal-clear moon hung high in the night sky, casting a stream of soft, silvery light across the golden sands below.

Within the brightly lit bedchamber of the royal palace...

Candlelight flickered gently.

Everything inside was tidy and spotless—this was Die's personal chamber.

Even though Die had been in secluded cultivation for the past three months, attendants had been cleaning her room regularly without fail.

Inside the room...

The warm candlelight cast its glow on two stunningly beautiful faces. At a glance, they looked exactly the sa.

But upon closer inspection, one held a seductive, enchanting charm, while the other leaned more toward a delicate innocence.

Queen dusa had removed her crown and was now seated on a stool with her younger sister by her side.

Though her face still held traces of cool detachnt, it was mostly softened by a warm smile. Holding Die's hand, she asked gently, "How's the inheritance of dusa's legacy going? Is everything proceeding smoothly?"

Die smiled and nodded. "Thank you, Sister. If it weren't for the thod you left behind in the inheritance, I wouldn't have been able to absorb it this easily."

She had originally estimated at least five or six months to complete it. But within dusa's legacy, she found a spiritual imprint left by her sister. With that aid, the process beca far less difficult.

In less than three months, she had completed the inheritance of dusa's legacy.

"Sister, look—I've already reached the level of a Seven-Star Dou Huang!" Die released a trace of aura for her sister to sense.

Queen dusa's brows knit slightly, as if regretting the decision to leave behind that imprint in the first place. And yet, she couldn't help but feel happy for her sister's progress.

All in all, she simply pursed her lips and smiled.

"Huh?"

Die noticed her sister's silence, then her eyes suddenly focused. She reached for the necklace at dusa's neck and gasped in surprise, "Wow, Sister! This necklace is gorgeous. Where did you get it?"

Queen dusa's expression shifted.

That day, after receiving it from Chen Mo, she had worn it ever since. Over ti, she simply got used to wearing it and had forgotten to take it off.

She responded calmly, "A few days ago, I went with that human to a human city. I saw it in a shop and thought it looked nice, so I bought it."

"You went to a human city with Chen Mo?" Die was a little surprised.

After all, humans and snake-people were mortal enemies. How had her sister managed to sneak into a human city?

Queen dusa recounted everything that had happened.

"Oh..."

Die nodded lightly, then added, "By the way, Sister, before I entered seclusion, I asked you to look after Chen Mo. Is he doing well?"

"N-No... I an, yes." Queen dusa's brows furrowed again.

Yet for so reason, as she replied, she avoided Die's gaze.

"I knew you're the best sister ever!" Die snuggled into Queen dusa's embrace, rubbing her cheek against her sister's chest.

"Um... do you... still like that human?" dusa asked hesitantly, her heart in turmoil.

"Mhm..." Die paused for a mont but eventually nodded.

If you love soone, you shouldn't hide it—you should bravely say it aloud.

Besides, the entire royal city was under her sister's surveillance. She wouldn't be able to hide it for long anyway.

Thump.

Queen dusa's jade-like hand tightened. A chilling aura began to emanate from her.

Die assud her sister disapproved and quickly added, "I know you don't like Chen Mo, Sister. But he's truly a good person. Please, let us be together."

"Good my ass!"

Queen dusa suddenly lost her composure and snapped,

"Sister, don't be fooled by that human! He's not what you think. He's despicable, shaless, greedy, and a total pervert—"

In short, she did her best to drag Chen Mo through the mud.

Of course, not all of it was true. So of it she was making up out of spite.

"The pervert part might be true... but despicable and shaless? I don't think so." Die defended Chen Mo, then asked, "Sister, how do you know he's a pervert?"

Queen dusa froze—then blurted out nonsense: "Just look at him. Doesn't he look like one?"

"Does he? I think Chen Mo's really handso. Don't you agree?" Die didn't seem convinced.

Queen dusa's face turned cold. "He's a human. You're a snake-person. There's no future for you two."

"But Sister, in dusa's legacy, I saw that we can eventually evolve into human form too. When that happens, there'll be no issue." Die wasn't too worried.

"What about the hatred between our races?"

"He may be human, but he's a good man. Not all humans are bad—just like not all snake-people are good. Weren't those your words, Sister?"

"I—"

Queen dusa was left speechless by the counterargunt. After a long pause, she finally said, "In any case, I won't allow you to be with that human."

"Why not? I thought you'd understand... that you'd support ." Die's voice trembled slightly as she pulled back and looked into her sister's eyes.

"No ans no," Queen dusa replied, turning her head away, unable to et Die's gaze.

"I don't care—I will be with him."

For the first ti, Die talked back to her sister... and all for a human.

"You—you don't understand. I'm doing this for your own good..."

Even as she said it, Queen dusa felt her cheeks burn with sha.

"Then you should support ." Die pouted, stubbornly.

Queen dusa bit her lip and, after a mont of silence, decided to change the subject. She started telling Die about recent events in the snake-people tribe.

"Sister, are you okay?" Die was imdiately concerned when she heard about dusa being injured.

Queen dusa smiled softly. "I'm fine now."

"What about Chen Mo? Is he okay?"

dusa's smile faded in an instant. Her voice turned icy. "Not really. He almost died several tis..."

"Ah? Then I should go check on him!"

Die stood up, about to leave—only to be pulled back by Queen dusa.

"He's fine now," she said quickly.

Die let out a sigh of relief.

Queen dusa then began explaining the crisis they were about to face.

Queen dusa's bedchamber...

Watching from afar, Chen Mo felt a chill run down his back.

Favorability just dropped again...

Damn it. I'm dood!

What the hell did those two sisters just talk about!?

Am I gonna get chopped up like firewood!?

Panicking, Chen Mo quickly packed his belongings and even stowed his bed into his storage ring. After making sure nothing of his remained in the chamber...

He bolted back to his original room.

Yeah, I need to move—right now.

If Die finds out I've been sleeping with Queen dusa every night... cuddling, kissing...

Yeah, I'm screwed.

Back in the side chamber, Chen Mo even took off the Lover's Pendant hanging from his neck.

He split it into two halves once more.

When eting Die, he'd wear the half she gave him.

When eting Queen dusa, he'd wear hers.

"Chen Mo... stay calm. You need to stay calm."

If I can survive this love triangle...

Then truly, I'll have made it.

Embracing beauties on both sides... isn't just a dream anymore.
