A Few Hours Later
The school bells rang loudly and everyone seed to hurry out of their seats and I just sluggishly gathered my things.
"Don’t forget to read Chapter 25, there will be a pop quiz next week" Mr. Frocks said as the others rushed out.
"Hi, transfer student" I raised my head, eting with amber orbs staring at , the sa tan-skinned boy who gave a pen.
"Y-Yes," I said, sliding out of my seat. "H-Here thanks for the pen" I handed it to him.
"It’s alright, one can never have too much pen right?"
"Right" I forced a smile.
"Owen, Owen Sherman. You’re Emma Adams, right?" He gave a second look like he wanted to be sure but I knew he was just ssing around. "Yeah everyone knows your aunt, she’s pretty cool"
"I see," I said, grabbing my bag. Everyone knows my aunt as well as , I really didn’t think I would be the center of attention.
"From the city huh?"
"Yeah from the city, not used to towns, seems like everyone knows you in re seconds"
"Sounds like you don’t like it" he raised an eyebrow.
"It’s cool..." I nodded. "I think", I was never used to that attention, it was odd for .

"Okay um two more classes and then its lunch, I was wondering if you could join and my crew"
"Crew?".
"Yeah the News Club" he stated
"Oh right you’re trying to lobby "

"I’m... interesting?" I asked blinking, I did not expect that from him, what was interesting about ?
"That’s one way to put it, you’re pretty" he shrugged, adjusting his bag.
And I felt my cheeks heated by his words "Thanks" I murmured and his smile only seed to glow more.
"So what do you say, lunch with the crew?"
"I-I..." I licked my lips.
"Co on, say yes, if you don’t like the crew then I won’t persuade you any further," He said with a soft smile I couldn’t resist and then I found myself nodding. Fuck! That was so stupid of .

"Guys this is Emma Adams the newest mber of our club" Owen introduced to three others seated at the round table with their lunches.
"H-Hi," I said nervously as I took my seat.
"The transfer student, I’m Sarah Hathaway," a girl with brown straight hair over her shoulder and gray eyes said. I smiled.
"Okay this is Henry Jose and Miles Keith" Owen introduced the other two.
"So Emma, how are you loving the town?" Miles asked, smirking. He had neck-length dark hair and brown eyes.
"Well it’s easy going," I said. At that mont the thunder struck outside. When did the weather change so bad? "Or not," I said as my eyes fell to the windows, the rain poured from nowhere.
"Does it always rain like this?"
"Welco to Juneau town baby," Henry said with a wink. He had black hair and brown eyes.

Classes were over and still, after that the rain still poured.
"Emma you could join us," Sarah offered, pointing at the jeep, it was small and I could barely fit in, the jeep belonged to Miles I think.
"It’s okay, with it won’t be enough for you guys"
"We don’t mind," Owen said. I could tell he was worried.
"Yeah the school buses are on repair today" Sarah reasoned.
"I will call my aunt, it’s okay," I assured them.
"Co on guys" Miles shouted from within, blowing the horn. Sarah rushed to them. But Owen remained, I really didn’t wanna keep him from going.
"It’s... okay," I forced a smile. Owen nodded leaving, he turned waving at , I smiled waving back as he got inside the jeep and they drove off. I sighed bringing out my phone, I called Vanessa but her line was switched off.
"Great," I said, sighing frustrated, could my first day in this school get any more worse? I watched as others ran in the rain. It seems I had no other choice, I wore my bag on both shoulders before stepping into the rain. I was drenched just by walking halfway, I just prayed I don’t fall sick after this.
