It took a whole day for them to reach the elf territory, but the clear air and the fresh energy felt worth the wait.

Shuu got out of the carriage and waited for Erwin to explain to the elves what was going on. Once they heard of his condition, he was quickly welcod into the community.

Elves were a detached race that did not have much connection to the outside world. That was why news traveled here slowly in both directions. Shuu felt calm as he spent his days in peace.

Ti passed fast in such a space, and before he knew it, months passed without any contact with the outside world.

His stomach did not show any signs of swelling, and it worried him, but the elves told him that it was natural and that his stomach would beco bigger later.

Shuu did wonder what was happening in the outside world from ti to ti, but he had no desire to go out into it.

Rather, he had no desire to et Prince Kaiden, who must have married Lady Sera already. He felt like his well-found peace would shatter if he were to see that.

"How pathetic of . I have a whole new life here, but here I am, still not being able to get that one person off my mind..."

"Isn’t that fine? Everyone has thoughts they cannot forget. If yours appear in the form of a person, then that is totally fine. You are allowed to take your ti."

Erwin reminded him as he sat down and handed him a cup of tea that was specifically brewed for him.

The elf had been a great help to Shuu, and he felt thankful for it all.

"I... you might be right, but I do want to move forward. I personally like the elf village, but I have a feeling my kid might want to explore out of here soon. I do not want him to feel like he has to stay here. When the ti cos, I want to be able to go out with him as well."

Shuu replied with a calm look on his face.

"So, you already think it’s going to be a boy? It might be a girl instead."

Erwin teased, and Shuu felt himself smiling.

"Yeah. I might have a girl, but I just... have a feeling that this one is a boy. I almost feel like I can see him having black hair and golden eyes. Does that make weird?"

Shuu asked, and Erwin gave him an urgent look for a few seconds before it lted away.

"Hmm, it is difficult to say. The kid growing inside you is too powerful to be normal. Not that it is a bad thing. Besides, do you really care about this stuff?"

Erwin asked, and Shuu shook his head.

"No, I don’t care. As long as the child grows up to be healthy, I don’t care if they’re born with six limbs instead of four. I would always love them and be on their side."

Erwin nodded and drank a sip of his tea. Nero was currently out on an errand to the capital and Prince Kaiden. He had not wanted to go, but after almost eight months of avoiding Prince Kaiden, he could no longer avoid this visit.

From what Erwin had heard from Nero and other passers-by, Prince Kaiden’s mood had not been stable for the past few months. It was so bad that even Lady Sera had no effect on him.

Moreover, the wedding that was said to be the most spectacular and important event of the century had been put on hold because Prince Kaiden was looking for sothing.

In conclusion, the situation was bad, and it had the potential to beco worse. Especially since signs of unrest had begun to appear in the outskirts and near the Demon King’s castle.

According to so people, they had started spotting shadows around the castle already... but that should not be possible.

A hero was only born to reseal the Demon King after every one hundred years. Since the last expedition was carried out successfully not even eight months ago, this should not be happening.

But this was not sothing the elves needed to worry about at the mont. And it was especially not sothing Shuu needed to worry about.

"Co, let’s go. It’s almost ti for the kid to co. We will need to cut you open to get the kid out."

Erwin offered his hand to Shuu, who took it and helped himself stand up. He had gotten so big now that it was hard for him to move properly.

But he could not get himself to complain about this.

"Are you scared?"

Erwin asked, and Shuu shook his head.

"Scared? I am terrified of what is to co. The world is not a kind place, and I am afraid to bring a kid into such a place. But I... will do my best to take care of them."

Shuu promised, and Erwin nodded. He had no doubt that Shuu would do his best.

"Then co, let’s get you prepared. All the ritual stuff is done."

Shuu nodded and carefully placed himself on the table. The smoke from the ritual helped him relax, and he closed his eyes.

The last thing he saw was Erwin’s face, and he felt an extre longing to go back and be by Prince Kaiden’s side.

’I wonder... if Prince Kaiden would have wanted to be here... if he knew...?’

But there was no point in questioning this any longer, and the dicine took effect. Before Shuu knew it, he was dreaming.

It was a calm place, but sothing about it felt... familiar. The presence in front of him looked familiar, and he almost mistook him for Prince Kaiden.

But the eye color was different. It was a beautiful gold that matched his own eyes.

"Mother, it’s ti. I promise I will be with you from now on. You don’t have to be alone."

The person spoke before they faded, and Shuu felt lonely and alone once more. He felt like he was suspended in that space, and when he ca out, he heard a sharp cry.

Erwin helped him up and handed him a child.

"You were right. It’s a boy with black hair and golden eyes. So, what are you going to na him?"

Erwin asked, and Shuu thought back to all the ti he spent choosing nas. He had so many prepared, but once he saw the baby, only one ca to mind.

"Caelis. I want his na to be Caelis."
