Shuu’s face was pale, but not in a good way. He was clutching his fists while sleeping, and he seed to be in pain.

Caelis and Rin forgot all about her and ran toward the body.

"SHUU-"

Caelis yelled, but the body just shook. The child looked more and more worried by the second.

Thankfully, Shuu opened his eyes at the third yell, and he gasped to get more air inside him. He looked visibly shaken, and his eyes looked at the kids beside him with a worried expression as well.

"Shuu, alright?"

Caelis asked as he clutched Shuu’s clothes. He occupied one side, while Rin occupied the other with a silent approach.

Shuu blinked as he looked at the kids and then at her for a second before taking his eyes back to the kids.

"C-Companion Shuu, are you alright? You sounded like you were dying..."

These words escaped Canarie’s mouth before she could stop herself. The trio in front of her looked at her, and it made her nervous.

"I am fine. The sun is going down. It seems like dinner ti is approaching. We should get going now."

Shuu finally told her as he pushed himself on his unsteady feet. He almost collapsed, and a guard moved to help him, only to be denied by Shuu.

"I am fine. Just give a minute to compose myself."

Shuu told the guard, and the guard nodded. And just like Shuu said, he was ready to move within a minute, and it did not even seem like he was struggling to breathe a minute ago.

He grabbed the kids’ hands and took them away.

Lady Canarie could only watch this happen, and by the ti she realized what was going on, it was too late. She had lost her chance to be able to talk to these kids.

’Tsk, I will make sure to talk to the kids properly next ti. Until then, I should go and make preparations for dinner as well.’

__________

’Just keep moving. Put one foot in front of the other and do not look back. I can make it to my room just fine.’

Shuu encouraged himself as he kept walking. He put one foot in front of the other as he forced his way forward.

Even if his body protested all this movent, he knew that he needed to get to his room at all costs.

"Shuu, hurt?"

Rin’s innocent voice asked Shuu, and he looked up at him with the familiar red eyes that made Shuu feel weak-kneed.

He did not want the kids to see him struggling, so he plastered a smile on his face when he looked at them.

"Ah no, I am fine. There is no need for you to be worried. I just need to sleep so more."

Shuu assured the kids as he looked at them both. They were concerned but nodded at his words. Shuu breathed a sigh of relief as he followed them both without looking back.

They reached their room, but the noise coming from inside made them pause. There were more than a few maids gathered around, causing loud noises.

Even the guards were there, and they looked uncomfortable.

"What are you all doing here?"

Shuu asked as he looked at the gathered group in front of him.

The maids looked spooked and paled when they saw him, but they quickly bowed to him.

"W-We were just cleaning up. We will take our leave now."

The maids nodded and left the scene. But their guilty looks clearly told Shuu that sothing fishy was going on.

His concerned expression caused the guard to straighten his back and speak up.

"Sir, we caught these maids trying to break into your room, so we caught them. But they told us that they were here to ’clean up’ your room as per their orders. Do you want to detain them?"

The guard asked, and Shuu shook his head. There did not seem to be a need to go that far yet.

"It’s fine. As long as they did not cause trouble, I can let them be. Just... keep an eye on them for now."

Shuu told the guards, and they nodded.

He was about to enter the room when the holy relic on his arm suddenly shined brightly. It was warning Shuu not to enter this room.

"Shuu-! No-!"

Caelis grabbed his clothes at the sa ti and tugged him back with a worried expression on his face.

"Sir-?"

The guard asked, and Shuu sighed.

"Can you bring a priest here? It seems like there is so kind of weird energy around my room."

Shuu inford the guard, and the guard quickly took a look at the holy relic on Shuu’s arm before he nodded and ran off.

A few priests ca running within seconds, and they also paled as soon as they saw the shining relic on Shuu’s arm.

"W-What happened here? Why is the holy relic shining like this? What did you do-"

The priest tried to grab Shuu but stopped himself at the last second as soon as he noticed the guard’s look.

It helped the priest calm down, and he suddenly forced himself to breathe easier.

"A-Anyway, I am glad to see that you are alright. And don’t worry about your room. We will see what we can do about it. But in the anti, would it be a good idea to relocate for now?"

The priest asked in a hesitant voice. He was not sure how much he was supposed to interfere.

But what he did know was that Shuu was soone he needed to be careful around.

It did not take long for the news of what happened to reach Emperor Kaiden’s office. And then, all hell broke loose.

He ca to the halfway house within minutes, and Nero followed. His eyes were dark, and everyone looked away from him.

"So, would soone like to tell what is going on here?"

He asked in a calm voice, but no one answered him. No one had the courage to open their mouths and speak to their angry Emperor.
