Lucien rose from the bench, gathering his papers as the courtroom murmurs settled. The bailiff announced, "All rise for the honorable judge."

Everyone stood respectfully as Lucien made his way out.

Unexpectedly, Ash leaped forward, wrapping his legs around Lucien’s waist and his arms tightly around his chest.

Lucien froze for a mont as the Alphas, Betas, and Ogas in the room stared in astonishnt. Then he murmured, calm but faintly amused, "Easy, Ash...easy."

Ash buried his face against Lucien’s chest, voice muffled. "You were brilliant up there. Let stay like this...just a little longer."

Lucien sighed, a faint smile curving his lips. "Fine," he said quietly, continuing toward the judge’s chamber, completely unbothered by the stunned stares following them.

Inside the changing room, Ash helped him remove the judge’s robe. "I’m glad you took this case," he said softly. "If Judge Kevin had handled it, justice might’ve been twisted, especially since you said he was bribed."

Before Lucien could reply, the door opened. Celeste stepped in, a sharp smirk playing on her lips. Her gaze shifted from Lucien to Ash.

"Well," she said, "has he told you what kind of relationship they had, or maybe isn’t sick. Just a lie to hand the case to you. Did you give him a hard f*ck to earn that favor?"

Lucien exhaled slowly, ignoring her words as he finished changing. "I’m hungry," he muttered, leaving the room.

Ash turned to follow, but Celeste stepped in his path. "Your Alpha still seems interested in an old fla," she said smoothly. "Maybe they’ve already rekindled it."

Ash t her gaze, calm and steady. "I know nothing happened," he said simply.

Celeste raised a brow. "You trust him that much?"

Ash gave a faint smile as he walked past her. "I have my own reasons to."

As he followed Lucien’s fading footsteps, he thought, He has already lost his dominance having my pregnancy.

...

In the car, Adrian glanced at Ash. "Should I take you ho so you can talk to your mother?"

Ash shook his head, voice low with emotion. "I don’t think she’d want to see right now. I’ll wait a few days...then I’ll go."

Lucien nodded. "That’s a good idea. By then, she’ll have cald down."

Adrian gave a small smile. "Fine. Let’s go to the penthouse, then. I’ve already ordered a private chef to prepare sothing special for us. I want both of you to enjoy it."

Ash sighed. "It’ll probably taste just like every other restaurant al. Nothing special."

Lucien shrugged. "Let’s just go back to my place and finish the porridge and flatbread we left behind."

Adrian smirked. "Let’s make a bet, if you actually like the food, what will you give in return?"

Ash replied lazily, without thinking, "A hard blow."

Bravin, who was driving, froze, nearly swerving into another car.

"Next ti you drive," Adrian said sharply, "put on earbuds."

Bravin wiped sweat from his forehead. "Y-Yes, sir."

When they reached the penthouse, two servants had already set the dining table. Plates of rice pilaf, roasted goatat, and ripe bananas were neatly arranged.

Lucien sat down first, followed by Ash. They each took a bite, and their eyes widened almost at the sa ti.

"This rice is...really, really delicious!" Ash exclaid.

Lucien nodded with a grin. "It’s amazing."

Ash glanced at the two servants nearby. "Did you make this?"

"I made it, Bunny," ca a warm voice from the kitchen.

Grandmother appeared, smiling, holding a jug of fernted milk.

Ash and Lucien shot up from their chairs in surprise and rushed to hug her tightly.

She laughed softly. "That’s enough, or you’ll make this old woman spill the milk.

Ash and Lucien eased back from Grandmother’s embrace and sat down, while Adrian stood to press a quick kiss to Grandmother’s cheek before taking his seat.

Ash watched her, eyes bright. "Grandma, what a surprise. I was wondering who could have made this rice pilaf taste exactly like yours."

Grandmother smiled. Adrian cleared his throat, glancing at Ash. "And you better keep your promise."

"Which promise?" Grandmother asked, looking between them.

Both Ash and Adrian flushed and looked down at their plates. Lucien chuckled softly.

"If you’d told you were coming," Lucien said, "I could’ve brought sothing in return, at least a little thank-you."

Grandmother waved a hand. "No need. Seeing my daughter freed is thanks enough." she paused, then added, "I hadn’t planned to co, but Adrian’s father and my daughter wanted to talk, so I stopped here and cooked for my grandchildren before I went to them."

Lucien grinned. "I’m touched. Otherwise Adrian might have fed us KFC fries and soggy chicken."

Adrian tore off a piece of goat and chewed thoughtfully. "Grandma, this goatat, it doesn’t taste like the city at."

Grandmother nodded. "That’s Matata’s mate. I decided to end his life so Matata could have peace."

The bone slipped from Adrian’s hand. He froze, staring at her in shock. Grandmother continued, unhurried. "Always breeding, breeding. Matata bleating non-stop. No rcy for a mate like that."

Adrian said slowly, "Grandma...was killing him necessary?"

She t his eyes. "Yes. I wish I’d done it sooner."

Adrian swallowed, sweat beading on his temple. Grandmother watched him for a mont, then asked quietly, "Are you alright, boy?"

He nodded.

"Finish your food," she said.

After a al, two young servants cleared the table as Ash, Lucien and Adrian escorted Grandmother to the car. She bade them goodbye with a lot of hugs and pecks before stepping inside. The driver started the engine and drove out of the compound, leaving the three standing silently, watching as the car disappeared through the gate.

As they went back inside, faint chatter drifted from the kitchen where the servants were washing dishes.

"Wooh," one of the girls said, giggling. "I never thought Alpha Adrian would be that handso in person."

Another laughed softly. "And what about Alpha Lucien? Just one look from him and, ugh, I’m already pregnant."

The first snorted. "Too bad young master Ash is around. Otherwise, I’d make sure Alpha Lucien noticed ."

"Please," the second whispered. "This house is huge. We can always find a mont when they’re alone."

Ash froze mid-step. His expression darkened. He turned sharply to Adrian.

"What was your deal bringing them here?" he demanded.

Adrian scratched his head nervously. "I-I just hired them to help Grandma with the cooking. And I thought maybe they could help with the house chores too."

Ash sighed heavily, then strode into the kitchen, his tone cold. "Both of you, you’re fired. Get out."

The maids stared at him, startled. "But...what have we done, master?" one asked.

Ash’s voice was firm. "I can’t stay under the sa roof with servants plotting to seduce my Alphas."

The girls dropped to their knees, pleading. "We didn’t an it! Please, forgive us. Let us keep this job, we really need it."

Ash turned to Adrian without looking at them. "Give them the full month’s pay and send them off."

Lucien hesitated. "What about the dishes? Can we at least let them finish?"

Ash didn’t even look at him. "We can do it."

Lucien went quiet, sensing there was no need to press further, or he might end up in trouble himself.

Adrian reached for his phone to pay the servants, but Ash stopped him with a sharp look.

"Why?" Adrian asked, confused.

"They’ll get your number," Ash replied flatly.

Both Adrian and Lucien stared at him, surprised. Even the girls where they stood.

Unbothered, Ash took out his own phone. "I’ll pay them using my savings. You can refund later."

Adrian shook his head in disbelief, while Lucien only smiled faintly.

After Ash completed the transaction, the girls hurriedly left the house, trembling.

Ash turned to the sink and began scrubbing the dishes.

Lucien leaned against the counter, watching him. "What a joke, Ash, there are too many dishes."

Ash didn’t look up. "Are you coming to help or not?"

Lucien stretched lazily. "Let change into pajamas first. I’ll co after." Then he walked off toward the dressing room.

Ash sighed, still scrubbing. "And you?" he asked, glancing at Adrian. "Are you helping or not?"

Adrian rolled up his shirt sleeves and stepped beside him at the sink.

Monts later, Lucien rushed back in, breathing heavily, sweat glistening on his forehead. His hands trembled slightly.

Both Adrian and Ash turned to him in alarm.

"What’s the matter?" Adrian asked.

Lucien’s voice was low, unsteady. "I just got a call...Grandmother was in a car accident. She’s been taken to the hospital."

Ash and Adrian froze.

Adrian imdiately grabbed his keys. "Let’s go, now!" he said sharply.

They hurried out, piling into the car. Adrian drove like a madman through traffic, his grip tight on the wheel, while Ash and Lucien sat silent in the passenger seats, their hearts pounding.

When they arrived at the hospital, Ash’s mother and Adrian’s father arrived at the sa ti with them. None of them spoke as they hurried inside, where Grandmother had been rushed into the ergency room.

Minutes felt like hours as they waited in tense silence. Finally, the doctor stepped out, his expression heavy.

Ash’s mother rose to her feet. "Doctor," she asked, her voice trembling, "how’s my mother?"

The doctor lowered his gaze. "I’m sorry," he said quietly. "We tried out best."
