Feeling a bit better, Kellen shifted in the Captain’s lap. The Captain, noticing the shift, smiled, and with a smooth motion, changed his position so that Kellen was sitting flush against his stomach, his legs on either side. Blushing at the intimate position, Kellen t the warm, glowing gaze of the man below him and a wave of emotion washed over him. How did he earn this man as his pair? He was too nice to him.
"C-Captain, what did you an by your previous statent?" Kellen asked softly, and the Captain smiled at the younger man. The Captain had a feeling that until Kellen ford long lasting affection for him, he’d be answering this quiet concern until the end of ti.
"Well, I had plans to tempt you into the Guild with the Field Guide instructor position. After that I was going to offer you an apartnt in the tower, slowly getting closer and closer to you, until we were finally alone and then I would seduce you into a kiss. And then another, and another. Until you couldn’t see or feel anyone but ." His grin was a little wicked when he t Kellen’s gaze again. "All of my carefully put together plans were blown out of the water the second you began guiding in your retest. I knew that I should have let your hand go, but I simply couldn’t. I’d let myself go too long without guiding, and you were just so...your guiding has a certain calming effect on others, and I couldn’t ignore that." Kellen was surprised to hear that. No one had made any concrete comnts about his guiding before, outside of him and Hill recently. Maybe that ca with the Class jump? "After you woke up after I ruined your life and plans, I realised mine were also in tatters. Still, when they handed the results of our test, it took everything I had in to force myself to stay away from you." He chuckled. "I have...an advantage over most S Classes. It’s a blessing and a curse, but because of it I thought I had escaped most S Class traits. The ones that make society scared of us. But when I stared down at that piece of paper that told you were mine? I knew I was just as much of a crazy S Class Esper like everyone else." The Captain’s grip on him tightened, pulling them closer and Kellen could feel the outline of him against his crotch. His eyes widened, but he kept his mouth shut. "I never want to let you go. I don’t know if I ever could. You are everything I’ve ever wanted in my life, Kellen Woods, and I did my best to give you a chance to run away. But you ca back to kicking and clawing your way into my heart that was already wide open for you. You even called a coward for trying to protect you from . If I hadn’t been hopelessly in love with you since you kicked a rock at in the forest 7 years ago, I would have fallen in love again at that mont." Stunned, Kellen had no idea what to say. As the Captain continued to speak, Kellen could feel his cheeks heating until it wrapped around his neck and up to his ears. The Captain only seed to be soft and warm, not really affected by the words coming out of his mouth. As if admitting what he had was no big deal. Then, Kellen realised what he had said at the end, and grew flustered.
"That was an accident!" He protested, and the Captain laughed.
"That’s what you took away from what I said?" Looking at the flushed cheeks, trembling hands, and bright eyes that wouldn’t et his gaze, the Captain knew that Kellen had heard everything. He knew that seducing Kellen was going to take a long ti. Good. It would be unfortunate if it took a short amount of ti. "What should I have hoped for? I knew romancing you was going to take a while." He sounded disheartened, but when his gaze t Kellen’s, his eyes were sparkling. They reminded Kellen of gold coins. "I know what you did was an accident. You had such a horrified look on your face when you realised what you had done, and then you ran away into the forest like a startled deer. For the briefest of monts I thought you had been a fairy sent specifically for ." It was the actual original eting of the two. Kellen had repressed it since it caused him so much embarrassnt.
He’d probably been about 4 months on the front lines, maybe six. It was so long ago that the dates were a little fuzzy. What wasn’t fuzzy was the anger, frustration, and fear that had filled him. He was a new Field Guide, was struggling to get contracts, and he still had that giant chip on his shoulder. It didn’t help that at the ti the Field Guides were quite cliquey, and anyone who was new had to prove themselves. The frustration had finally welled up inside of him, and after not getting another contract and being laughed at, he’d gone to take a walk into the woods. Kellen hadn’t wanted to give up on his job so soon. He’d barely had a chance to prove himself as capable. To himself, or to others like he craved. Angry, and fueled by a deep self-loathing, he had kicked a rock exceptionally hard at a tree and it had flown past it. He had heard soone curse and Kellen had frozen. He moved towards the voice only to find a topless Captain Rhys Thatcher of the Saturn Guild.
The Captain had been holding a weapon of so kind, which later Kellen learned was his favourite weapon. It was a long sword that he called Baby. That was of little concern to the Kellen of that ti, since he was faced with an even greater threat. The Captain had been topless, covered in sweat, hair ssy, and his eyes glowing like a demon. It was clear he had been working out alone, away from others, and sohow Kellen had found him. The Captain had looked....good then. He wasn’t as toned as he was now, but he had been mouthwateringly attractive. His hair had been shorter, and his eyes just as yellow as they had always been. The pants he wore hung low on his hips, showing off his whole upper body. The band of his underwear had been poking out as well. The only imperfection Kellen could rember about the ti was the small red wound on his chest. From the rock Kellen had just kicked.
If Kellen was honest with himself, he didn’t rember what happened after that. A wave of fear had engulfed him after he’d realised what he had done. He had worried he was going to be punished, especially since it was the CAPTAIN OF THE SATURN GUILD and he was just a little guy. The new kid on the block. It was of note that shortly after that he got his first contract with the Nesis Guild, and after completing that contract successfully, his na took off. He also started avoiding the Captain as much as possible after that. He had worried originally that the Captain was going to punish him, and for so reason it had morphed into being uncomfortable around him. Huh. He had forgotten the original reason until the Captain had brought up that he rembered him.
Kellen stared at the man as he recalled their first eting, and his cheeks tinged pink, before he frowned at him. "Captain, fairies don’t exist." He stated and the Captain broke into a wide smile.
"Oh? But did you know sothing, Kellen? Even back then you were my type." Kellen wasn’t sure how to respond to that, and the Captain continued. "I had thought that my type was a little on the extre side, until I t you." Confused, Kellen tilted his head slightly to the side, much to the Captain’s enjoynt.
"What do you an? I’m completely normal." He said and the Captain chuckled.
"Of course you are, for the average civilian or Esper maybe. But as a Guide, you are an exception to almost every rule. Do you rember what you were wearing when you ran into in the forest?" Of course he didn’t. It was so long ago. He shook his head. "You were wearing all black, your hair was a little longer than you have it now, and you had a bruise on your cheek. I don’t know if you were aware, but your shirt at the ti was a little see through. When I saw you for the first ti, peeking around a tree, the light caught you at such an angle that it looked like I was seeing through your clothes to your rippling abs and tight muscles. I was speechless. I didn’t chase you because I thought you weren’t real. A mirage." Kellen scoffed. His heart was pounding in his chest, and he was desperate to cover that sound up. He was sure the Captain could pick up on it with his heightened hearing, but he was begging that he wasn’t going to make a comnt on it.
"T-That’s ridiculous. You were topless at the ti, and you don’t see making a comnt about your rippling abs and tight muscles." The Captain’s grin widened and Kellen imdiately felt like he’d fucked up.
"Oh? You rember our first eting? What was your impression of ?" He asked eagerly, and Kellen imdiately grew flustered. He wasn’t sure what to say. Kellen looked away from the Captain, his eyes wandering as he tried to co up with sothing that wouldn’t get him into trouble.
"Uh, I..." He was worried he was going to overheat. "I thought you were...really attractive..." He spoke quietly, hoping that the Captain didn’t hear him. It was a false hope. The Captain hung onto every word the younger man said.
"The Kellen Woods found attractive? I had a chance back then? Wow. I had no idea. You hid it really well." Kellen could feel the Captain’s breath against his neck and he shifted.
"You make it sound like I’ve never been attracted to others before. How do you think I found out I liked n?" Kellen had to defend himself, and a warning blared in the back of his mind.
"Oh? But you’re so inexperienced, I just made assumptions. Have you shared a chaste kiss with a man or woman on the front lines, Kellen?" Kellen sucked in, glancing down at the Captain to find his eyes intently watching his face.
"Uh, w-when I was in school. There was a kid I thought was cute, and he thought I was cute, so we kissed. Nothing ever ca of it, but that’s how I knew." The Captain’s eyes crinkled up, and Kellen felt like he was in danger.
"What did he look like?" He asked sweetly and Kellen frowned. He was not going to get soone in trouble for sothing that happened almost 2 decades ago! But it was also ridiculous that the Captain was getting upset about this too!
"He was a kid, Captain, and so was I. If you had been around, it would have been a cri." Kellen insisted and the Captain laughed.
"Oh, I know that. I am also not into children. I am only curious to see what your standard was for cuteness." Kellen opened his mouth, closed it, before he shook his head.
"I think he had black hair, darker eyes. He was funny and kind and liked to hold my hand. During play tis he’d make sure no one made fun of and..." Kellen trailed off as the Captain’s smug smile filled his eyes.
"Well, I’m glad to see that your type hasn’t changed at all, Kellen." Kellen wanted the ground to swallow him up. He had basically described the Captain over the last few days. Fuck . That was only going to encourage him!
"T-That’s not true! My type has totally changed!" Kellen protested and the Captain gave him a look.
"Uh huh. Your type has totally changed. You’ve moved away from black hair to...black hair. When I’m not using my powers my eyes are darker, so maybe I’d give you that. I try to treat you well, look out for you, and I would gladly fight anyone who spoke a wrong word against you. I love holding your hand, or any of you if I am honest, but I can’t vouch for if I am funny or kind. Those are things others tell you that you are. And you said I was handso 7 years ago. I’m going to take this as a win." He pressed a kiss against Kellen’s neck, much to the man’s discomfort. He chuckled. Kellen was too flustered to speak for a few monts. The Captain took the ti to do a small victory lap, pleased that not only had he gotten Kellen out of his funk, but he’d also gotten him to admit he was attracted to the Captain.
"W-Well, your type is muscles." Even Kellen knew it was a weak coback, but he felt like his brain was fried from how red he’d been throughout this whole conversation. The Captain chuckled, pressing a kiss against his neck again.
"You aren’t quite correct. My type is actually Kellen Woods, but I won’t say no if he’s chiseled enough for to grate cheese on. A bonus, one could say."
