[BL] Accidentally Becoming the Healer of the Deranged Archduke Chapter 114: The System Can Speak?!!!
Xion slowly lifted the duvet over his ssy head. He peeked around, and only when he saw no one in the room did he breathe a little easier.
Good. He was alone.
Only after relaxing did his focus shift to his surroundings. It was an unfamiliar room.
His surroundings were exotic, far too lavish to be an inn, yet too artistic to be associated with Darius. The warm scent of paint and fresh flowers filled the air, mingling with the faint traces of sothing sweet, maybe wine?
Xion could not tell. He hesitated before sitting up. There was sharp pain near his shoulder, exactly where Klein had dragged his knife. He rolled his shoulder lightly to ease the ache.
Dragging his shirt up to see his chest, he saw it. A scar the size of a hand directly above his heart.
He traced the new skin with his fingers, but it felt overly sensitive, so he quickly stopped. As he shifted to arrange his clothes back, he instinctively moved his feet, only to hiss sharply in pain.
The wounds on his chest and back were mostly healed, but his foot was not so lucky.
Pulling the duvet away, he confird his suspicion. His ankle was swollen, and an angry purple-blue color against his fair skin looked too alarming.
Puffy like a freshly baked bread roll.
Then, his stomach grumbled loudly. No wonder he was thinking about bread.
With the way his ankle was still so swollen, it would do him no good to put pressure on it. Hence, he nestled in the thin duvet as the many crystals blasted the cold air in the room.
It beca a perfect cozy temperature for him to squint his eyes like a lazy cat, and Xion would have done so if not for his hungry stomach screaming in protest against his laziness.
"They must have used so much mana to treat ," Xion muttered to himself. That was exactly why they could not treat this foot.
Too much foreign mana would disrupt the natural mana flow, and that situation was far from ideal.
Xion hastily sat straight. Allen had told him so, and he had also confird it in the books.
Foreign mana disrupting the natural flow, mana rejection.... It all sohow seed to make sense, but sothing was missing.
Xion knew it was right in front of his eyes, yet he could not grasp it.
Growl.
"Fine, fine," Xion patted his stomach. "Let’s fill you up first."
He knocked on the system panel, and this ti, it showed the familiar screen.
Just the sight of the blue screen brought it both anger and happiness.
If this system had not been under maintenance, he would not have been in such a situation, but at the sa ti, if it had not been for the system, he might have suffered long ago.
In the end, he could only sigh.
"Next ti, can you please give a warning before disappearing?" He grumbled, poking at the screen in irritation.
Much to his surprise, the system replied, and it was the voice of a child!
"I’ll rember that, dear host!"
Xion, "..." What just happened?
The system seed aware of his confusion. Like a dedicated support assistant, it explained that after its double update, an emotional support sub-system had been activated.
Now, Xion could talk to it, ask any questions, and even order it to do so simple work for him.
Xion actually felt a sense of reality now. After all, all the anis he had seen before, most of the systems were like this.
So, all of his bad moods disappeared.
"Is there sothing you need? I can recomnd our best product to you. Can you tell what do you wish to have? You are hungry. Do you want food? What type would you like to eat?"
Xion was silent. For a mont, he thought that the system had been updated so it could act like a salesman.
But... the childish voice was actually so cute!
So, a certain child-loving doctor ended up ordering two lon breads and a cup of hot chocolate.
The mont the familiar sweetness hit his tongue, he relaxed completely.
Although he could only finish one lon bread, he had no regrets about buying two.
He would just eat the other one later. No matter how hot or cold, lon bread was always delicious.
As he placed it on the bedside table, his thought went back to Darius.
Even if he had been subconsciously avoiding it, he needed to think about his next move, about his future plan.
No matter what, the archduke was still his patient. And as a responsible doctor, Xion simply could not abandon him.
Leaning back against the headboard, he let his gaze wander to the ceiling. It had beco a habit of his to stare at the sky when lost in thought.
Now, however, he could only look at the ceiling.
It was not plain like the one in Nocturne’s family. It was filled with runes, and designs he could not understand, and neither had any intention to do so.
Still, by now, he had learned a few things. The fancier the ceiling, the wealthier the owner.
As the archduke’s so-called advisor, he had been given a decent room... but it was nothing compared to the ones given to high nobles.
Now that he thought about it, this was likely his dear brother’s doing.
Soren probably wanted to remind him of his place.
Xion let out a light chuckle.
How pointless.
What was the point of humiliating him if he hadn’t even noticed it until now?
Soren wanted to tell Xion that even if he had taken shelter under the wing of Archduke, he was still nothing more than a plaything.
Perhaps this was also why everyone was staring at him weirdly at the banquet.
After all, no matter how one looked, no one would directly speculate that he was a special servant.
Yeah, he had learned what that word ant now.
And the fact that he actually told Darius that he would be his special servant...
What was the answer? Ah, there was no answer. Rather, Darius had smirked at him! So teasingly at that!
"You, my special servant... Do you even know what they do?"
"Soone who stays with you all day and night? Takes care of your food, your clothing, all the little things?" The confused and stupid Xion had replied.
Darius had laughed before saying, "Just be my aide."
The barely calm heart started beating like a drum, and soon, his face turned red. Slowly, the fire spread to his ears and his neck.
