’An ergency quest, huh?’ Kurt thought, slightly losing balance. ’I thought you would have sothing else for , since you’re going through that so-called conversion of yours...’

Kurt was still able to see, despite the blurry shade that covered everything around him.

He saw that his attacker prepared to punch him in the face, so he carefully evaded the blow, feeling the impact on his leg right after.

Kurt’s knees bent slightly, and he almost fell to the floor, but he endured it, waiting for any reply from the system.

[...]

’Oh, really?’ He scoffed internally. ’I thought you were on my side.’

Another kick, and he went down, but not without grabbing the attacker’s leg this ti.

[IT’S NOT LIKE I CAN DO MUCH MORE THAN THIS FOR NOW]

[BUT IF YOU REALLY WANT SOTHING, I’LL TRY TO RUN DIAGNOSTICS]

’So you can talk now?’ Kurt’s eyes slightly widened in surprise, as he applied his strength into a sudden sweep that made the attacker fall.

Kurt got up, then, and used his montum to lift the enemy from the floor and throw him straight towards the table where Simon was sitting at.

The crashing sound filled the air, as plates and cups flew to the air and fell to the floor, along with the almost unconscious body of Kurt’s attacker.

[WHILE THE CONVERSION IS ON, I CAN’T DO MUCH, BUT IN THE ANTI, I’VE BEEN SCANNING EVERYTHING AROUND YOU, SO THAT IT MAKES OUR COMMUNICATION EASIER]

[3... 2... 1...]

[DIAGNOSTICS COMPLETE]

’So, what do you have for ?’

Kurt’s vision beca more and more blurry, and his legs started losing strength, but he focused all his willpower to keep standing.

He was hoping that, whoever of Lester’s goons that one was, he would stay down, but as soon as Kurt thought of it, his enemy got back up again, rubbing his head.

"I’m surprised you’re still this strong, even after I injected the compound in you... But let’s see if you’re so tough now that it’s really starting to wear you off." He grinned.

[IF YOU HANG ON FOR 30 SECONDS MORE, YOUR BODY WILL BE ABLE TO FULLY SUPPRESS THE EFFECTS OF THE UNKNOWN AGENT]

’Hum, okay then. Thanks.’ Kurt answered in his mind, amazed that the system was actually talking to him.

His strength was fading, but his will was still there, and it burned within him with the sensations and emotions that ca from the [MORY FRAGNT].

"I’m... Not... Going down..." Kurt said, with a slightly muffled voice.

He tensed every muscle in his body, and crossed his arms in front of his head, entering a fully defensive position.

’Just thirty seconds, right...’

"Not going down?" The attacker laughed. "Bro, you’re barely standing!"

And he started to launch a barrage of punches and kicks towards Kurt.

Lucky for Kurt, the weeks he spent working out before entering the academy, and the sleepless nights he spent in the gym, made his body much stronger.

So, despite the attacks being abnormally strong, even for a young wielder, Kurt was able to endure them.

The barrage of attacks didn’t stop, but it lost power as the seconds passed.

’Why won’t this son of a bitch fall?!’ The expression on the student’s face almost shouted as he kept hitting and hitting.

Kurt was starting to feel the pain, as his muscles were losing strength faster and faster, but it was almost ti.

Kurt felt the surge of adrenaline coursing through his veins like fuel as he counted the seconds in his mind.

2...

His attacker, then, released his power and condensed it into a gauntlet that he brought jut in case, wearing it and getting ready for a deadly blow.

"Let’s see if you can resist this..."

Kurt felt his breathing becoming slightly shallow, but he also felt his muscles a bit steadier than before.

’Just a bit more...’

[SUPPRESSING UNKNOWN CONTAMINANT]

[RESTORING BODILY FUNCTIONS]

[GET HIM]

Kurt grinned as soon as he heard the system’s voice, while everything felt like in slow motion in front of him.

’Technique...’ He thought, watching his vision focus again, with his enemy’s armored fist closing in towards his face.

It was a movent very similar to that of Rodrick’s, so Kurt didn’t need much to counter it.

He stepped forward, swayed under the blow, and differently from when Rodrick tried to get his attention, he decided that the situation required a bit more brutality.

So he ard a mix of an uppercut and a hook, applied every drop of strength into his legs, and pushed himself upwards.

His enemy only had ti to realize how bad he had fucked up, before Kurt’s fist collided with his face.

The student flew several ters away, hitting a crowded table and falling unconscious to the cold floor of the cafeteria.

"Damn... That was hard..." Kurt said to himself, rubbing the back of his neck.

There was no blood where the student had stang him with the needle or whatever that was, but Kurt’s muscles were still a bit sore, so he knew that the thing was still running through his veins.

’System, can you analyze whatever that thing is, and tell ?’

[...]

[OKAY, BUT IT WILL TAKE SO TI, AND IT WILL AFFECT THE TI REQUIRED FOR THE CONVERSION]

’No problem, just do it.’ Kurt answered, walking towards his attacker. "What do we have here, now?" He grinned. "How about so answers?" He asked, grabbing the student by the hair.

He was from Dark-green, with red hair and freckles all over his face.

His body was slightly thin, like that of the wielders from the mage class, but he was strangely stronger than a mage, and his eyes glowed faintly with a reddish-blue energy.

"You’ll... Pay for that." The student spat.

"What is it, now? Open season for irregulars? If you don’t want to get hurt, it’s better if you say sothing aningful..."

"Let. Him. Go." Lester’s voice echoed through the hall, and when Kurt turned around to look, he saw that all other students had left the building.

"That was fast." Kurt smirked. "The dicine in the campus must be pretty advanced."

He looked at Lester, letting go of the other boy, but sothing felt off about the Crimson student.

’Why does he look... Stronger?’

"The roof, you and . Now. No one else. How about that?"

"I didn’t know that killing were allowed here at the academy." Kurt mocked, sensing the killing intent oozing from Lester.

"Only if it’s irregulars." Lester joked back.

"Alright, then. If I win, you’ll give so answers."

"And if I win, I’ll get to kill all your friends, and keep the red head."

Kurt fell silent after Lester’s statent.

Things were getting weirder and weirder in the academy, and he didn’t intend to leave a decrepit pervert like Lester running around for long...

So he started walking towards the staircase, with Lester walking slightly ahead of him.
