Desperate Fusion: System Awakening within the bombed airport of Arica, the gunpowder smoke was like a thick and sticky curtain enveloping the entire space, the pungent odor pervasively spreading, seeping into every corner, making breathing difficult for those within. Lin Mo was huddled behind the wreckage of a scrapped police car, his eyes bloodshot, staring intently at the movent around him. His heartbeat thundered in his chest like war drums, each beat accompanied by the fear of death and the desire for survival. At this mont, hundreds of terrorists ard with the most advanced weapons were scouring the airport ruins for his traces. Their footsteps echoed in the ruins, sotis distant, sotis close, like the countdown of the Grim Reaper. Lin Mo knew that under these circumstances, surviving for half an hour would be unimaginably difficult. He dared not make the slightest sound, as even a faint breathing sound could beco a fatal factor exposing him. "Dada dada..." A burst of rapid gunfire suddenly erupted, and Lin Mo’s heart tightened violently. He knew that the terrorists had begun a new round of search. Bullets hit the surrounding tal and walls, igniting a series of sparks, and those sparks flickered in the darkness, seemingly a premonition of death. Lin Mo’s body trembled slightly; he was not afraid of death, but he was not willing to die like this in this naless foreign land. Uncontrollably, the faces of his family surfaced in his mind—his son, daughter, wife, and parents, their smiles as warm as sunlight, yet making his current mood even heavier. He still had so many dreams unfulfilled, and so much love not yet given to his family. He could not die, at least not easily like this. "Lin Mo is here, hurry, the target person is right there!" A sharp shout instantly shattered the brief peace, and Lin Mo’s heart sank to the bottom. He knew he had been discovered. Almost at the sa mont, two terrorists from different directions rushed toward his hiding place, their weapons spewing deadly flas. Lin Mo’s response was extrely fast, like a nimble cheetah, he dashed forward a distance before quickly hiding behind a new shelter. "Damn it!" Lin Mo cursed softly, his forehead covered with beads of sweat, his breathing turning rapid. He knew that such evasion was only temporary; the terrorists would soon encircle him again. He had to find a way to survive in this desperate situation. Lin Mo looked around, trying to find a safer hiding place. However, besides ruins and wreckage, there was almost nothing usable around him. His gaze landed on a patrol police car not far away; if he could run there, maybe there was a glimr of hope. "Charge! Whoever kills Lin Mo will be rewarded with one hundred million dollars!" The shouts of the terrorists echoed one after another, the huge reward making them even more insane. They recklessly rushed toward Lin Mo’s direction, their footsteps on the ruins raising dust. Lin Mo took a deep breath, making a decision in his heart. He quickly dashed to a nearby corpse, used it as a shield, then started sprinting forward. His figure appeared so small in the hail of bullets, yet so resolute. The surrounding bullets fell like raindrops, constantly stirring up dust around him, each bullet, like the scythe of the Grim Reaper, could harvest his life at any mont. But Lin Mo did not retreat. With his strong will and agile skills, he successfully dashed over a hundred ters and finally got into the patrolling police car. He dared not delay, frantically twisted the ignition, and started the severely damaged police car. However, fate seed unwilling to let him go easily. The mont he started the police car, a bullet hit his left arm, instantly staining his sleeve with blood. The intense pain made his body involuntarily jerk, but he clenched his teeth, enduring the pain, and pressed down on the accelerator. The police car drove laboriously through the ruins, terrorist bullets following like shadows. Lin Mo tried to curl his body inside the car to dodge the deadly bullets. But there were too many bullets, and soon the police car beca a riddled target. "This won’t work; must find a way to get rid of them!" Lin Mo thought to himself, a resolute look in his eyes. He increased the accelerator, rushing toward the airport entrance, hoping to find a chance to survive there. Yet, just as he was about to reach the airport entrance, the car suddenly stopped. The engine ceased to work, and Lin Mo’s face instantly turned pale. He knew the car had been turned into scrap and could no longer be started. "Run!" Lin Mo shouted in his heart, trying to get out of the car and escape. But wave after wave of gunfire suppressed him, rendering him unable to make any effective actions. He didn’t even have a chance to make a call for help. Lin Mo found himself trapped, unable to escape and impossible to surrender, the situation apparently turning into an irreversible deadlock. His heart was filled with despair, but his eyes still flashed with a trace of reluctance. "Am I really going to die here?" Lin Mo silently thought, as the faces of his family once again floated into his mind.
