Everything was, of course, orchestrated by Sterl.

He had pushed ti to its limits…

The current situation was that the Blood Cult's formation was just one step away from being fully activated!

The arrow was nocked, and there was no way to withdraw it.

The core sub-array at the palace had been destroyed, and their only option was to activate the core sub-array in the southern part of the city. Otherwise, due to the chain reaction…

The effectiveness of the other sub-arrays would be diminished.

The Blood Sacrifice Swallowing God Array would no longer be possible to construct, which also ant that the Blood Cult's plan would be a complete failure!

Even if they could slaughter every last person in Florence and kill all the players, it wouldn't matter, because the Archduke of Blood's goal would remain unachieved, and he would be stuck in a bug.

Thus…

With two consecutive uses of Moon Law, Sterl had left the Blood Cult with no options.

In the dictionary of the fanatics, there was no term for failing a plan and retreating successfully.

Instead, they would gamble on even the slightest chance; if they didn't succeed, they would die trying!

...

Setting Sterl's thoughts aside, at that mont, all the players were half-kneeling on the ground, clearly weakened from using too many powerful abilities, yet their faces still bore expressions of joy.

"We finally broke through!"

"The formation has been shattered! How many Valor Contribution Points do you think we'll earn for a task of this level?"

"We won!"

Despite their poor condition, this group remained unfazed because the legendary abilities of the nearby Blood Cult mbers had been thoroughly disrupted, leaving them with even harsher backlash. It would take longer for them to recover!

And while the blood-red barrier in the city was still intact, after breaking the core formation, they could dismantle the remaining sub-arrays one by one.

Moreover, the players could clearly see that one of the ten debuffs on their panels had been reduced, and the effects of the remaining nine had also weakened.

The most dangerous mont had passed.

The mission was in hand!

Victory was within reach!

"Ha ha ha!"

"Ha ha ha!" However, to the players' surprise, while they were joyfully chatting among themselves, the already heavily injured Blood Cult mbers were also laughing maniacally. They seed extrely excited and gleeful.

"Don't you understand? Our master's plan has already succeeded!"

"All of you are going to die!!"

These individuals shouted, but the atmosphere fell completely flat. The players couldn't be bothered to respond. Instead, so of them slowly rose, gathering their strength, ready to harvest the remaining heads.

However, those preparing to strike glanced uneasily in Sterl's direction; they only wanted to use their anger to claim a few trophies…

As the players engaged in their scheming,

whoosh!!

In an instant, all the players' expressions changed.

Out of nowhere, a rainbow-colored beam of light shot up from the southern part of the city.

"We did it!"

The Pope of the Blood Cult and the other zealots knelt on the ground, utterly ecstatic.

Sterl frowned slightly; he had a nagging feeling that these cult mbers, upon realizing the core of the sub-array in the palace had been destroyed, wasted no ti at all and imdiately activated the backup formation.

Sterl had just been playing mind gas, forcing the cult mbers into a corner, while all along, it felt like he was just throwing a wink at blind people…

At that mont…

The nurous players present stared dumbfounded at the scene. They noticed that a debuff they had previously lost suddenly returned, and the effects of all ten debuffs had nearly doubled.

They were already in a semi-weak state from using their powerful abilities, and now they looked even more pained, with many struggling to stay on their feet.

The players' faces were filled with horror: "This is impossible!"

"This was just a low to mid-tier legendary task!"

"Is it divine power again??"

"It's over…"

In the blink of an eye, everyone fell into a state of sheer panic.

But being the talented players from the Hall of Valor, it didn't take long for soone to shout angrily, "We need to rush to destroy the core of the formation in the south!"

"As long as we can break it, the divine power will dissipate!"

"Move! This is our last chance!"

At the sa ti, several players dashed toward the remaining mbers of the Blood Cult, intending to eliminate them first to prevent any further disruptions.

As for considering the thoughts of their leader, who cared about that at a ti like this?

Moreover, the players weren't blind; they could see that Bionic Tear had been slacking off. Fortunately, he hadn't stopped anyone from destroying the formation, which relieved the players. If this leader were a traitor, they'd be waiting for death!

It seems that the team leader still wants to raise the difficulty of the task even further; greed can lead to overreach!

Now look where that got them; they had ssed up!

So players even glanced toward Bionic Tear, their voices dripping with sarcasm.

"Now we're in trouble; everyone's going to die here because of divine power."

"Hey, brother, why are you just standing there? You're not really a traitor, are you?"

"If you don't want to die, hurry up and follow us! What are you waiting for?"

At that mont, Bionic Tear calmly spoke up, "There's no need to go to the south because the foundation of the ten combined formations is still in the palace."

"Look!"

As the players followed Bionic Tear's finger, they quickly saw the rainbow light descending from the sky above the southern part of the city.

It landed back in the palace, forming a rather mysterious formation.

The core of this formation was a rainbow-colored, strange disk, chanically rotating. Surrounding the disk were nine spherical slots, filled with nine blood-colored energy orbs.

Moreover, the outer edge of the formation shimred with a peculiar aura that inspired an overwhelming urge to offer everything to it.

At that mont, so anxious players unleashed their legendary abilities and charged forward. In an instant, a bolt of lightning struck down from the sky toward the formation.

However…

Boom!!

The lightning successfully hit, but it struck a massive, grotesque creature that seed to be stitched together from various corpses.

This was a legendary-level demon.

Though it didn't follow a boss template, it was still classified as an elite!

The Pope of the Blood Cult and the other cultists were remotely controlling the resurrection of all the legendary demons in the city using soul gems.

They hadn't operated this way before, primarily due to their overwhelming eagerness to combine the formations.

They figured they could sacrifice a few more lives here.

Once the Archduke of Blood's task was completed, they would unleash themselves, pursuing their own ambitions by summoning nurous demons to control the entire city.

Although the players were currently inside the palace, their legendary powers allowed them to sense countless residents in the city trembling in fear, hiding in their hos, only to have one demon after another coldly break down their doors, striking them down, leaving them injured and gasping for breath amidst the ruins of their buildings.

Such scenes were unfolding continuously in Florence, but the eeriest part was that while the residents were severely injured, no one was dying.

Even more frightening for the players was that there were at least over 200 demons in the city, all of legendary rank, wreaking havoc!

However, they didn't have the luxury of worrying about the other inhabitants of Florence.

In front of them, aside from that one stitched-up legendary demon, over thirty demons were resurrecting in the eerie glow!

"Let's go for it!"

"I'll trade my life for one of them!"

One hot-headed player bellowed, activating his legendary ability. His entire form gathered radiant energy, transforming him from a relatively short stature into a towering giant of two ters!

He was clad in heavy armor, and all his attributes surged dramatically, causing the ground to quake with each of his movents.

Flas of blood burned around him, clearly indicating he had used so top-tier life-risking item.

Boom!!

Not to ntion, the montum of this player was indeed considerable, as he charged forward and knocked several legendary demons to the ground!

Seeing this, the others were invigorated and quickly unleashed their ultimate abilities!

However, just a few seconds prior, many had already exhausted themselves while destroying the formation, so even their final desperate attempts lacked the power they had earlier.

The players roared madly,

"Die for !"

"Get out of the way!!"

Blazing flas blossod around them like lotus flowers, igniting everything in sight!

Translucent, steel-like giants were summoned forth.

Energy orbs glowing with intense light crashed down from above.

However, those dozens of legendary demons stood firm and blocked the incoming assault!

These beings from hell didn't wield legendary abilities; instead, they possessed an entirely different kind of power.

At this mont, they were all enveloped in a blood-red glow, emanating waves of energy!

"Don't let the blood-red waves hit you!"

So players who had previously faced legendary demons knew the strength of this attack and quickly warned those around them to dodge.

But in reality, it didn't need to be so complicated.

A player clad in a pure white priest's robe flew into the air and began chanting loudly.

A vibrant green halo enveloped the area around him,

Infusing abundant life energy that dispelled control effects, entering every player's body and allowing them to temporarily shake off the ten debuffs plaguing the city, while also granting immunity to the blood-red waves.

However, everyone knew this state wouldn't last long.

This was a temporary immunity gained through a legendary ability, and it would soon fade.

As soon as the priest player took action, everyone erupted with renewed vigor!

In an instant, various skill effects illuminated the surroundings, blindingly bright and intensely dazzling!

In such a situation, even Sterl had to admit that if he were on the receiving end of such an assault, he would likely have to rely on resurrection armor to survive.

Moreover, under the influence of the high energy, the players had long since transford the cellar they were in; it was unrecognizable, and even the palace, with this place as its core, had suffered devastating destruction!

A good portion of Florence had turned to ruins!

However…

After the nurous players joined forces and unleashed a terrifying energy storm.
