Alex took a deep breath, his voice steady as he began.
Even though Alex had fought demons and even gods previously, the aura of that man was still unnerving.
It wasn't sheer power, Mike wasn't as formidable as the entities Alex had defeated in the ga.
It was his eyes, sharp and calculating,
Was that was a trained assassin looked like?
"Sit," he commanded, "I feel like what you're about to say matters more than anything I heard until now."
"It does," Alex confird as he sat, Alice following him.
Aurelia wasn't anywhere near though, probably in her bedroom.
"I believe my son is-"
But Alex didn't let him finish.
"Your son is a pathetic scum who thinks he owns the world, and who would kill several people simply for power," Alex smiled.
Upon hearing this, Mike wasn't even shocked or angry.
"Haha~" he simply laughed, "You know how to get your point across easily, though I did know that already."
"..." Alex let him continue.
"He doesn't follow the sa training we all did, and always causes problems, I was planning to let him go since he liked this universal ga so much."
Mike took a sip of his whiskey.
"But then suddenly he tells himself that he doesn't want to stay around 'losers' like us and that he is too strong for that."
"Hm..."
"He even removed as a friend on that little ga of his, though that does an that I cut off his credit card."
Daniel usually used the [Thunder Family] money, but now that he had more power and also discussed with the other families, he was probably allowed a way higher budget.
In exchange, he would need to reveal information on the thunder family and prove that he was loyal by killing Mike and Aurelia.
Or at least, that was the original plot.
But now that he was linked to the [Hatred Demon], Alex felt like Daniel would act much quicker.
"I think you should watch out sir," Alex spoke with respect, "I feel like he won't end it to just that."
"Hm..." Mike scratched his chin, "Well, Aurelia and I are trained in combat, so there should be no problem."
Of course, Mike would never reveal they were assassins, Alex simply knew that from his past life.
"I don't think two assassins can beat a bunch of supernatural powers though," Alex shrugged.
The mont he uttered the word "assassins" though, Mike froze, his expression darkening.
"You knew?" he said softly, his hand moving so fast Alex barely registered it until it was at his neck.
In that instant, ti seed to slow.
[The Heart of Calamity has acknowledged and connected with you.]
A surge of power coursed through Alex, his reflexes heightened to an inhuman level.
Instinctively, he dodged Mike's strike, moving faster than even the seasoned assassin could follow.
"What the…?" Mike muttered, his eyes wide with shock, "Kid, what the hell are you?"
Alex stepped back, his gaze steady.
"Just soone who doesn't want to see you or your daughter die. Trust ."
Mike stared at him, his mind racing to process what had just happened.
Even for an assassin of his caliber, Alex's speed and precision were beyond anything human.
"So… that ga really is making people stronger," Mike muttered.
"It is," Alex confird. "That's why Daniel will eventually overpower you if you're not prepared."
Mike exhaled slowly, his grip on the glass tightening. "What do you suggest?"
"We need to be proactive," Alex said firmly. "I'll handle Daniel in the ga, but you should take precautions here in the real world.
Stay alert, keep Aurelia safe, and don't underestimate his desperation, or his power."
Mike nodded, his respect for Alex growing. "You've got guts, kid. Fine. I'll trust you… for now."
"Add so that I can ssage you wherever I am."
At this point, Alex was done playing around, because that request of his seed more like an order than anything else.
Even then, Mike knew that maybe this kid shouldn't be ssed with if he could avoid him.
Ding!
[You have added AssassinDad to your friend list!]
The notification blinked in Alex's vision, a small but significant step toward solidifying their alliance.
Right afterward, a door creaked open, and Aurelia entered the living room, her golden eyes gleaming with amusent.
"You two done with the talk?" she asked, crossing her arms.
"You were eavesdropping," Alex stated flatly.
"Of course," she replied with a smirk. "Can't let you have all the fun."
Mike sighed, running a hand through his hair.
"Kid, be careful out there, the other families should already be after you after everything that's been happening," Mike sighed, "I've seen you on the news and the internet."
Universal Descent was so famous that every forum, social dia and news outlet were only talking about those and what was happening inside the ga.
It also beca the most popular source of entertainnts as hundreds of millions loved to see others fight and interact with this world.
Alex bowed slightly, "Thank you for the warning. I'll handle it."
Mike nodded, his expression softening, "Good luck, son-in-law."
"Dad?!" Aurelia's face turned red, "He's just a companion!"
"Sure," Mike grinned.
With everything done though, the trio prepared to reenter the ga, the weight of their mission pressing heavily on their shoulders.
[Do you want to enter Universal Descent?]
"Yes," Alex said without hesitation.
A flash of blue light enveloped them, and in the blink of an eye, they were back in the ga world.
The familiar surroundings of the [Fox Tribe Village] greeted them, the soft hum of magic in the air. The village seed peaceful, but Alex knew better.
"We've got a little ti before the festival," he said, his tone lighter. "Might as well rest while we can."
Alice and Aurelia cheered in unison, their enthusiasm montarily lifting the tension.
But even as Alex allowed himself a brief smile, he remained on edge.
The [Golden Star Festival] was fast approaching, and with it, the storm that would decide the fate of the village.
