Two young people exchanged glances, twisting and turning like a pair of pretzels.
Chen Yong opened his mouth in surprise, turned to look for Tian Xiang, and nearly jumped out of his skin.
"You, what’s going on here?"
Why cover your face?
Her hair is styled like a clown from an opera, and her eyebrows resemble black caterpillars.
If it weren’t for those bright eyes, Chen Yong almost didn’t recognize her.
It’s a matchmaking event, not hers, what did she paint? And in such a ridiculous way!
But Chen Yong quickly understood.
This was to prevent the young man from being interested in the girl introduced to him, and instead fancying the matchmaker.
True, with soone so pretty around, who wouldn’t be overshadowed?
Chen Yong pointed to the two people beside him, "You, go ahead and do the introductions."
Tian Xiang coughed lightly and stepped forward, "Jiang Gaojun, I am Tian Xiang, the new junior officer in the union’s Internal Affairs Departnt. Sorry, I’ve caught a cold these days, so to avoid spreading it to everyone, I’m like this."
Jiang Gaojun glanced at Tian Xiang and instinctively stepped back half a step.
This person, what’s going on?
The hair, the eyebrows...
Wasn’t it said that a beautiful female officer arrived at the union office, is it her?
Jiang Gaojun was a bit puzzled, turned his head to look at Zhuang Eri, and felt refreshed.
Tian Xiang continued, "Jiang Gaojun, let’s be straightforward. Introducing you to a partner is part of my job and also instructed by your mother, Aunt Peng.
The person was carefully selected, and her appearance is without question, as you’ve seen.
I’ve detailed your situation with her, and she has no objections. As for her side, now that you’ve t today, you two can walk around and get to know each other, chat on your own, I won’t interfere."
Tian Xiang dared not interfere too much, if she strictly followed Aunt Peng’s requirents, the two were unlikely to get together from opposite ends of the earth.
But if they talked on their own, it would be different.
The allure of passion can muddle a rational mind.
Jiang Gaojun pursed his lips and nodded, "Thank you, Mr. Tian."
The two of them, one in front and one behind, headed towards the small woods nearby.
Tian Xiang breathed a sigh of relief, finally able to remove the scarf, and wiped her eyebrows with a handkerchief.
Chen Yong: "The one you’ve introduced isn’t bad, not minding Jiang Gaojun’s uneven steps, very impressive."
If he were Aunt Peng, this marriage would be settled.
But...
"She’s not from Red Fifth Street, is she?"
Tian Xiang: "Soon she will be."
Chen Yong: "..."
"What about her job?"
Tian Xiang: "Jiang Gaojun earns a level two salary, enough to support a wife and mother."
Chen Yong wiped his face, "Alright, I’ll leave it to you."
Tian Xiang: "Thanks for today."
After speaking, she prepared to leave, needing to find a place to wash her face and fix her hair.
Earlier she had discussed with Zhuang Eri, her matchmaking work for the day was done here.
Later, Zhuang Eri would have Jiang Gaojun take her back.
Chen Yong: "Wait a minute, wait."
Tian Xiang: "What’s up?"
After hesitating for a mont, Chen Yong still said, "You better go take a look at the bulletin board, ng Cheng’an seems to have so trouble."
"What?"
Tian Xiang’s mind buzzed with words like villains and face-slapping, and she bolted for that direction.
Chen Yong watched her figure disappear, raised his hand as if to slap himself.
If ng Cheng’an really got kicked out because of this, wouldn’t I be the one with the inside advantage, where anything with the beauty becos possible?
So, was my brain short-circuiting just now?
Why did I tell her those things!
Like a drained spirit, Chen Yong collapsed at the edge of the flowerbed.
On the other side.
Tian Xiang quickly found ng Cheng’an outside the plant committee office, working on a new bulletin board display under the notice board.
The factory’s bulletin board changes every two months or so. To prevent chalk fading or being damaged by unwelco hands, they’re made with paint instead of chalk.
When Tian Xiang arrived, ng Cheng’an had finished writing the words and was working on the illustrations.
The the for this bulletin board was safety production, with workers, machinery, and the ever-present red flag depicted by ng Cheng’an’s pen.
The outlines of the image were drawn with white lines, with proficiently drawn chanical proportions and lifelike characters.
But, his choice of colors...
Seeing the blue flag, Tian Xiang felt puzzled.
Beside her, two passing young won stopped and pointed at ng Cheng’an’s painting, "A blue red flag, was it a mistake?"
"Could it be a new workers’ flag of so sort?"
"Huh, does such a flag exist? If it was a new flag, why leave room for a few five-pointed stars?"
Their conversation was evidently overheard by ng Cheng’an.
He stopped his brush and looked at the color palette in his hand, feeling bewildered.
How could it be blue, he should have used red!
What’s going on?
Did he misrember, or was there a problem with the color box?
In the publicity departnt, because colors are used frequently, large cans are purchased, then dispensed into glass bottles without labels, requiring identification by eyesight alone.
Originally calm, ng Cheng’an was a bit flustered.
He set down his brush and wiped the flag’s color off with a towel, then took another bottle with a similar gray tone, planning to repaint, hesitating at the last mont.
If he misrembered, the color next to blue in the box should be red.
But if he didn’t misrember, what if the color box was swapped?
ng Cheng’an held his breath, sweat slowly seeping from his forehead.
anwhile, the two won watching the scene spoke again, "Hey, why has he stopped painting?"
"What exactly is he painting, is it supposed to be a red flag?"
At this mont, Tian Xiang approached.
"Ladies, it’s been a while since work ended. Aren’t you going to the market to buy groceries? If you wait, the good stuff will be snatched up!"
Upon hearing this, the two promptly left.
Tian Xiang went up to ng Cheng’an, glanced at the unfinished bulletin board, and remarked, "Your writing is really good! The drawing is accurate too, but the color sche is a bit off."
ng Cheng’an dared not look at her, "I know. So, don’t look, go, just go."
Being color blind as a publicity officer was embarrassing; he didn’t want her to know.
Tian Xiang already sensed his predicant. Although unaware of the reasons, thinking it had sothing to do with his label and Lu Feng, she couldn’t walk away.
Tian Xiang took the brush from his hand and softly said, "These bottles here don’t have any red in them."
No red!
ng Cheng’an looked at Tian Xiang in surprise.
Tian Xiang: "Perhaps soone swapped your red paint."
Startled, ng Cheng’an set his things down and headed towards the office.
Tian Xiang closely followed behind.
They soon arrived at the publicity departnt office.
By this ti, nearly thirty minutes past work ended, and the office was empty.
ng Cheng’an rummaged through his drawers, finally locating a discarded glass bottle in the corridor trash bin, filled with the red paint.
