Chapter 77: The Golden Boss Bodyguard Delivered to the Doorstep
Early the next morning, William, Jason, and the others rested well for a night, fully rejuvenating themselves to return to Canlight City.
Erging from the forest, they t Ford and the others waiting outside. Amidst incessant expressions of gratitude, they retrieved their stored carriage and set off leisurely towards Canlight City.
The anomaly here was also considered resolved by William and the others. The rcenary Guild’s exploration commission for the dungeon could be considered satisfactorily completed. Presumably, the Golden Lion Knights would inform the guild upon their return to Canlight City.
Therefore, Jason and the others weren’t in a hurry. Their leisurely journey seed to suggest they wanted to enjoy the good tis after narrowly escaping death.
Lumbro took out a cup of ale stored in his storage ring and silently drank alone. This was the first ti William had seen him drink before the mission was over.
Elena was comforting Mooney. She had stored Mooney in her pet space during their ti in the tomb, so he hadn’t been hard.
William didn’t feel anything special. It’s just that there was still a little sothing sleeping on his head.
When they set off today, Angela hadn’t awakened yet. Originally, William planned to put the little bat on his shoulder like Elena did. But perhaps feeling uncomfortable, Angela, with sleepy eyes, waved her little claws and climbed onto William’s head, then fell into a deep sleep.
William felt a bit amused but let her be. After all, they owed this little one a lot this ti in Azrael’s tomb. Otherwise, William would have had to wait for Beavis and the others to rescue him.
In that case, he would have to bid farewell to the rewards from the Golden-tier dungeon, and who knows when he would be able to break through to Silver tier.
Just as William was engrossed in reading his magic book all morning, there was a slight movent on his head, followed by Angela’s sowhat sleepy voice.
“William, uh, where are we?”
“Woke up?”
William took Angela down from his head. The small white bat lay in William’s palm, seeming like she hadn’t slept enough even after a whole day.
“Weren’t you eager to see the outside world? We’ve already co out of the tomb. Hurry and take a look.”
William said with so amusent, shaking Angela gently.
Upon hearing this, Angela instantly beca alert and tried to fly up.
But perhaps due to sleeping for too long, her body felt numb, and Angela couldn’t stabilize herself, resulting in a “thud” as she hit the wall of the carriage.
William helplessly peeled Angela off the wall. Holding her in his hands, he opened the window of the carriage, letting her take a look at the outside world.
Angela shook her slightly dizzy head and widened her eyes, gazing at the colorful world before her.
As it turned out, the sky wasn’t just gray. Silk-like white clouds drifted in the blue sky.
The earth wasn’t always black either. Along the dirt road, green wilderness and bushes emitted a vitality that Angela had never seen before.
The air also carried a pleasant scent, without the foul odor wafting around.
All of this, though recorded in Angela’s inherited mories, appeared so beautiful when witnessed with her own eyes.
It was her own most authentic feelings and mories.
For so reason, Angela felt like crying.
William seed to sense Angela’s emotions and comfortingly patted her small head.
After a while, Angela fluttered her wings and flew out of the carriage, feeling the joy of flying freely under the blue sky and white clouds, accompanied by the gentle breeze and the friendship of rain and dew.
William could understand Angela quite well.
If it were him, having lived in the dark underground since consciousness awakened, it would be torturous to stay in that cage after knowing about the vastness and beauty of the outside world from inherited mories.
Watching Angela excitedly dancing around, even chasing after passing birds, startling them into chirping madly, William felt a bit speechless. A Golden-tier boss doing such things seed a bit too “idyllic.”
William even considered capturing this scene with a mory Sphere. This could potentially be so blackmail material for Angela in the future!
Turning back, William noticed Elena and Lumbro inside the carriage, looking at him with puzzled expressions. He briefly explained Angela’s origin to them.
Upon hearing that Angela was a Golden-tier vampire who helped William crack the tomb, they were both surprised. They couldn’t connect that cute little white bat with the dangerous creatures that road the night.
Wait a minute, isn’t she a vampire? How is she flying so happily under the sun?
After a while, when Angela, tired from flying (and chasing birds), returned to the carriage, she still settled down on William’s head, seeming to feel most comfortable there.
William felt a bit helpless. He had noticed that although Angela had Golden-tier strength, her ntality didn’t seem entirely mature.
“Angela, do you have any plans for the future? Do you want to go anywhere?”
William closed his magic book and asked Angela in a very gentle tone.
The little bat nudged against William’s head, found a comfortable position, and replied:
“I don’t know. My mories don’t contain that kind of information, and I don’t know where to go.”
William’s eyes lit up, and he spoke in a very soft tone:
“Do you want to follow for now? When you’re familiar with this world, you can go wherever you want?”
Elena glanced at William, feeling like he was now acting like a creepy old man trying to coax a little girl.
Angela pondered for a mont and said:
“Sure, I don’t have anywhere else to go anyway.”
She didn’t have anyone familiar in the outside world, which made a little bat who liked staying at ho feel a bit shy. Following William seed like a good idea.
That’s why Angela liked sticking to William now, and the reason why she liked staying on his head.
Unexpectedly, William felt quite excited about this. Wasn’t it equivalent to having a Golden-tier boss-level bodyguard and fighter with him all the ti?
He even felt more confident about the upcoming Annual Holy Festival.
Even if William’s plans failed, with Angela by his side, he wouldn’t really be hurt by that Golden-tier assassin.
At worst, he could just let Angela stay inside his clothes! She probably wouldn’t refuse either.
As Angela, who was about to take another nap, beca sowhat alert and raised her head, looking around suspiciously.
Why did she suddenly feel a chill behind her? That shouldn’t be, right?
Not finding any issues, Angela settled back down, curled up into a ball, and fell asleep comfortably, even adjusting her position in her sleep and basking in the sun.
After daydreaming for a while, William stopped paying attention to Angela and let her rest.
He took out a blank book and started writing and drawing on it, occasionally pausing to contemplate.
From William’s perspective, it could be seen that a simple and delicate magic rune gradually ford in his actions.
Since he had already broken through to Silver tier, there were so things that William could start doing now!
